No, fund awareness and labels about the dangers of these products instead

 @9MVTXKGIndependent from California  answered…1yr1Y

The government should ban the promotion of products such as vapes, but not junk food.

 @9NM3T45 from Missouri  answered…1yr1Y

No, the government should not ban the promotion of unhealthy lifestyle products aimed towards young people. They should instead invest time and money in promoting the dangers of all these products to a person's health.

 @9TJPPHM from Maryland  commented…12mos12MO

if promoting dangers worked then I wouldn't have seen any of my peers smoke cigarettes when i was in high school. None of that stuff works if someone in their household does it. Ban all that crap. Don't even know why we have vapes and cigarettes anyway they do nothing for you but put a heavy tax on your health that you're going to pay for later.

 @passerby92 from California  commented…12mos12MO

I thought that backfired with cigarettes, at least for people who were already addicted. Something about warning labels triggers a stress response, which tends to drive people to seek out their usual coping behaviors, in effect creating an overall trend of increased undesired behavior (and shame, which also contributes to stress, and therefore the vicious spiral).

 @9XQV887 from New Hampshire  answered…10mos10MO

Yes, for things like vaping but healthy eating is complex and labeling something "junk food" can be a slippery slope

 @9MSCHX6 from California  answered…1yr1Y

Vaping should be banned, however junk food is more of a complicated issue because it is cheap and may be the only way for some families to get food throughout the day.

 @9RHSZ4M from Florida  answered…1yr1Y

Banning would violate commercial free speech, however I do think government agencies should do a better job at educating the public via educational public health campaigns.

 @9RQLG7C  from Illinois  disagreed…1yr1Y

I don't think it would violate free speech, based on the precedent of the banning of cigarette ads. Banning or restricting advertising is a lot different than restricting the product itself. I agree about the campaigns, though.

 @9ZX2MY5 from Massachusetts  answered…9mos9MO

No, provide an information bar at the bottom of the screen, briefly describing the negative health effects of vaping and junk food instead.

 @9YLTPPK from Missouri  answered…10mos10MO

Yes, but only to things like alcohol and other drugs. Junk food is somewhat acceptable because it can be a treat of sorts for a job well done.

 @9S2PG43 from Virginia  answered…1yr1Y

I disagree that the government should ban any of these products, but I do agree that they should fund greater warning campaigns regarding these products. People have a rights to engage and behaviors that are detrimental or counterproductive to their own health. As long as it does not affect other people. We should always give people greater warning as to the consequences they may receive as a result of their behavior and the effect it could have on their lives beyond their health, but also socially.

 @B4CSCQ2Independent from Massachusetts  answered…5mos5MO

No, provide an information bar at the bottom of the screen briefly describing the negative health effects of vaping, junk food and other unhealthy lifestyles instead.

 @B3FZ5K6 from Minnesota  answered…6mos6MO

The government should regulate vaping in the same way it regulates smoking, and should do more to encourage healthy eating.

 @9VZHHFLNo Labels  from Minnesota  answered…10mos10MO

Instead of banning the promotion of unhealthy lifestyles they should advertise more of healthy lifestyles and why you should be healthy.

 @9ZKPQXZ from Kansas  answered…10mos10MO

They should be heavily regulated and require warnings (like cigarettes in other countries), but it still should be an American's choice to consume unhealthy lifestyles, just so long as information about the negatives of the lifestyle is readily available.

 @9MSVV63Republican from Tennessee  answered…1yr1Y

Only vaping since junk food is such a large part of the economy, such as takis or poptarts, for example.

 @9QSD657 from Illinois  answered…1yr1Y

The promotion shouldn't be banned; however, they should be required to list the risks in any promotional content.

 @9PT6LY3Democrat from North Carolina  answered…1yr1Y

Yes, but accompany the ban with an educational campaign and requirements for parents to play a stronger role in guiding the youth towards embracing healthier habits

 @9L4Z23BIndependent  from Pennsylvania  answered…1yr1Y

 @96P8K72Libertarian  from Wisconsin  answered…4 days4D

Banning the promotion of unhealthy products would likely not have much impact on current unhealthy products, given how prominent many of them are. Future bans on such advertising for unhealthy products to young people likely won’t stop said people from hearing about and potentially obtaining said products given how prominent product advertisements are nowadays

 @B6R6SLJRepublican from Pennsylvania  answered…5 days5D

ban vaping for young people, junk food is fine. They should be old enough to know that such things will ruin there very own lives so its there choice to purposely ruin there lives or to live it.

 @B6R6GMV from Louisiana  answered…5 days5D

No, fund awareness and labels about the dangers of vaping, smoking, drug use, etc., but not junk food, instead.

 @B6R4NFH from Colorado  answered…5 days5D

Unhealthy lifestyle ranges, yes I believe they should but at the same time there's only so much we can do. It is not just young people who have these bad habits, imagine who they learned it from (their parents).

 @B6QPRJPfrom Washington  answered…6 days6D

Substances that cause definitive and great harm to the public (Smoking, vaping, drinking, etc.) should be either heavily regulated or outright banned

 @B6PW5WG from North Carolina  answered…1wk1W

Not ban but make certain unhealthy things harder for youth to get and make healthy things more accessible

 @B6NRW75Republican from Nevada  answered…1wk1W

No, but there should be penalties for negligent parents and/or who are caught exposing their children to unhealthy products and/or lifestyles.

 @B6NF7SQ from California  answered…2wks2W

Yes . I support the ban on drugs/vaping. However, I believe that "junk food" can be better monitored and incentivize a healthier lifestyle.

 @B6M4TCP from California  answered…2wks2W

No, but implement stricter standards for promoting such products, as it can negatively affect the young population.

 @B6M28L8Republican from Pennsylvania  answered…2wks2W

Yes and no, ban the promotion of more dangerous things live vaping and fund awareness labels on junk food

 @B6L6FRGDemocrat from California  answered…2wks2W

Create a law to protect and prohibit unnatural things like flavoring and coloring that may be a health risk

 @B6L5FFKIndependent from North Carolina  answered…2wks2W

Yes, the government should have restrictions on the promotion of these items. However, they should not have restrictions on the sales of them.

 @B6L3JHZ from Florida  answered…2wks2W

Yes, they should ban the promotion of things that are inherently dangerous like vaping, but not things that are safe if used in moderation like junk food.

 @B6JQ9YTDemocrat from Illinois  answered…3wks3W

Vaping and addective things sould be removed but not junk food people have right to atlist eat whatever they want.

 @B6JGMWJRepublican from New Mexico  answered…3wks3W

No, the government should not interfere with human decisions. Allow the community to help with addictions and unhealthy lifestyle behavior if they want.

 @B6J7GJ6Republican from Florida  answered…3wks3W

For products such as vaping, drugs, cigarettes, etc., I support the banning of advertising completely. However, I don't think the government should interfere with junk food.

 @B6J6LWK from Colorado  answered…3wks3W

No, instead put strict regulations on artificial foods and require companies (Fast food, ice cream, etc...) to use farm/ranch grown ingredients in food.

 @B6J4DXT from West Virginia  answered…3wks3W

Yes, because often, these products are sold by companies that know that what they're selling is unhealthy, but sell it anyway to make money. Therefore, by banning these kind of ads, we will make people be influenced by these selfish companies less and will help people in general be healthier.

 @B6DLC2C from Indiana  answered…1mo1MO

Yes, ban its promotion but still allow the individual/voluntary choice eat said foods (not vaping though, it should be EXTREMELY cracked down on in terms of promotion and advertising as its very obviously directed towards kids).

 @B6995ZG from Colorado  answered…1mo1MO

Yes, but within reason - explain the dangers and risks of things that are proven to worsen your health, but don't go full Puritanical on everything

 @B65SZ4T from Texas  answered…1mo1MO

Yes, and put more sales taxes on junk food, vapes, cigarettes, and alcohol, and use that money to counter food deserts and address nutritional deficits, and to fund rehabilitation centers

 @B65KJSG from Colorado  answered…1mo1MO

Yes, this is a good idea, but it shouldn’t turn into a wholesale Puritanical thing - make the dangers clear and make the marketing less manipulative

 @B654BS5 from Texas  answered…1mo1MO

Yes, and increase sales taxes on vapes and junk food and use that money to increase supply and lower the cost of healthy food

 @B63LYJ3 from Texas  answered…2mos2MO

No, but manufacturers should be required to apply safety labels, somewhat similar to those required on things like power tools.

 @B63GY3D from Illinois  answered…2mos2MO

Eating a little bit of junk food is okay, but too much is not good for your health. Vaping on the other hand is not good at all because vaping can kill you.

 @B63BGRK from Wisconsin  answered…2mos2MO

Yes, I agree to this because if the products were not offered in the first place, then Americans would not find a value in it or a reason to feel they may need a product they think they cannot live without due to addiction(s) from consuming products such as these on a regular basis.

 @B62WVP6No Labels from California  answered…2mos2MO

No, but I would prefer to ban junk food products that aren't organically sourced or naturally produced and fund awareness about the harms of vapes

 @B62TMLRDemocrat from Texas  answered…2mos2MO

Stricter laws should be put in place to make these products healthier and there should be more awareness and labels about the dangers of these products

 @B62CRNS from Arkansas  answered…2mos2MO

No but ban the poisonous additives that companies put into the food and other additives that are known to cause health issues.

 @979XN3F from New York  answered…2mos2MO

No, but enact strict limits on the amounts of sugar, adhesives, and pesticides in all commercial food products

 @B5XVJR4 from Washington  answered…2mos2MO

Require all ads to show the effects of an unhealthy lifestyle on the packaging and fund awareness and labels about the dangers of these products

 @B5XQC7T from Minnesota  answered…2mos2MO

ban the promotion of substances such as vaping, smoking, and alcohol. let the advertisement of junk food be allowed though, because it is not a significant risk on your health and don't have drugs such as nicotine in them that could get you addicted.

 @B5WXPXT  from Louisiana  answered…2mos2MO

no, we should focus on the things causing those issues, like the results of capitalist burnout and corporate greed

 @B5VJLR9 from Florida  answered…3mos3MO

Government should copy and paste other countries positive ideals such as germany and its food marketing strategies of using "letter grades" to determine what is healthy and unhealthy to the human body, in my opinion.

 @B5TTN2MCommunist  from New York  answered…3mos3MO

Somewhat, just not as heavy-handed as a complete ban on promotion of these products, and they should also fund awareness and labels about the dangers of these products as well.

 @B5T2WSG from Washington D.C.  answered…3mos3MO

No, the government should increase excise taxes on unhealthy products to discourage young people from purchasing them.

 @B5SK9PF from Oregon  answered…3mos3MO

No because I’m afraid that certain people wouldn’t eat like autistic people if that food was banned however people should eat enough healthy foods

 @B5SB5YV  from Oregon  answered…3mos3MO

Yes, we should ban advertising for vaping products, but not for food that poses little health risk in small amounts.

 @B5NMKZQ from New York  answered…3mos3MO

I think that the government should fund awareness and labels about the dangers of these products while also slowly banning certain products.

 @B5JYXCVDemocrat from Maryland  answered…4mos4MO

i think they should ban the promotion of vaping but junk food not as much because junk food is a lot more generic

 @B5JP9GG from New York  answered…4mos4MO

No, it violates free speech but we should fund school programs that teach healthy lifestyles among our youth

 @B5F6PZ4 from Illinois  answered…4mos4MO

No, we live in a free country and people should be able to buy what they want, but there must be unbiased studies that are available to everyone that show the risks

 @B5DW5C7 from Oklahoma  answered…4mos4MO

the promotion of alcohol should be banned it leads to an extremely unhealthy lifestyle and it is more common and "normal"

 @B5984S4Republican from Missouri  answered…4mos4MO

I think that the people should get to do what they want as long as it not hurting others, and in this case they wont be hurting others so I don't see a problem in it.

 @B55LWJC from North Carolina  answered…4mos4MO

Unfortunately we cannot ban things like vaping and junk food, so instead we should promote anti-junk food and vaping ads and put a tax on these types of products to discourage the use of them.

 @B52JG8N from New Jersey  answered…4mos4MO

Junk food is okay, and it's also fine to promote it less, but it is important to stop promoting vaping.

 @B4YLWC8 from Utah  answered…4mos4MO

Nicotine products should not be promoted period. Addicting substances with intense withdrawals should be banned from commercial use.

 @B4VY9CC from Pennsylvania  answered…4mos4MO

its not the governments desicion on whether or not a young person decides to destroy their life with a simple puff or bite.

 @B4VPGV2 from Tennessee  answered…4mos4MO

Ban the promotion of vapes but not junk food, though it should still fund awareness about the dangers of junk food

 @B4VCNX9Peace and Freedom from Florida  answered…4mos4MO

Ban the promotion of vaping and fund awareness labels about the dangers of junk food but don't ban promotion of junk food.

 @B4TN2NKLibertarian from Georgia  answered…4mos4MO

Give ultimatums around making companies warn users, or else they suffer a penalty in monetary value, in other words, tax them for ignoring issues.

 @B4MBN4R from Tennessee  answered…5mos5MO

Yes, ban vapes but not junk food. Funding awareness won't do much to stop people from eating junk food and vaping. It's addiction.

 @B4L3KBH from Texas  answered…5mos5MO

Yes, state and local governments should do so for certain products, as well as get rid of commercial billboards.

 @B4KXH3Y from South Carolina  answered…5mos5MO

Not ban, but heavily regulate and require specific companies to disclose publicly information of potential harmful products such as vaping

 @B4KVZ3XIndependent from Tennessee  answered…5mos5MO

No, but they should promote the production of healthier and more organic foods, and ban the use of toxic chemicals in consumable products

 @B4JS9KJ from New York  answered…5mos5MO

No, the government should just explain the negatives of these matters similarly to how cigarettes were described in commercials in the 90's

 @B4JN3QT from Utah  answered…5mos5MO

No, but there should be more education and parental guidance to promote healthy lifestyles backed up by scientific evidence.

 @B4JCJ4J from Michigan  answered…5mos5MO

No, but they should provide incentives for individuals and companies to not promote unhealthy lifestyles.

 @B472RGZ from North Carolina  answered…5mos5MO

There should be more regulation, Mexico is an example of restrictions placed on junk food due to high levels of obesity.

 @B46DKM2 from Georgia  answered…5mos5MO

Vaping, tobacco products, etc., should have a minimum age purchase requirement of 25 years or older and be strictly regulated. I would support banning cigarettes.

 @B46B4RW  from Georgia  answered…5mos5MO

No, the governments job is to inform without influence. They should not ban it but make it very clear of risks

 @B468M7W from Minnesota  answered…5mos5MO

While I agree that there should be regulations on harmful products that may promote unhealthy lifestyles, outright banning promotion is a dangerous game to play, as it may be viewed as censorship. Personally, I am all for regulating how companies are able to market their products to young people, but banning promotion as a whole feels like an infringement on free speech, and would present the question, "if they can ban that, what else can they ban?"

 @B466J2Qfrom Maine  answered…5mos5MO

More promotion of healthy products but completely ban the promotion of vaping, drugs, cigarettes etc...

 @B44HD54 from Illinois  answered…6mos6MO

Schools should have both junk food and healthy food but more healthy food choices. Every once and a while junk food is okay but having it all the time and all day then it’s a problem. Vaping is bad for young kids but they will always find a while to get vapes and carts or any drug.

 @B42BSRM from South Carolina  answered…6mos6MO

No, but information on the negative effects of such harmful substances should be further provided to buyers.

 @B425TCL from Missouri  answered…6mos6MO

Regulate advertising for vaping but not for junk food. Make it clear what the risks and ingredients are but let them make their own choice from there

 @B3Z2VBB from Georgia  answered…6mos6MO

I think we should be limited to the amount of snacks we are able to buy and consume. Instead of banning it completely. Vaping for young people should be banned because its addictive and harmful to your body.

 @B3Z49YC from Georgia  answered…6mos6MO

While I think the promotion of such products shouldn't be banned, it should be limited in a way that doesn't infringe on free speech, or at least not as much as an outright ban would. For example, limiting the places these products can be promoted.

 @B3YL2J3 from Texas  answered…6mos6MO

Vaping, smoking, drugs, and alcohol should be discouraged, but on state, personal, and criminal levels. The government should not interfere with people's lives in that manner.

 @B3YDJZY  from Oklahoma  answered…6mos6MO

people are still going to find ways to do what they want even if the promoting of the products are banned

 @B3Y3ZHY from New Jersey  answered…6mos6MO

No, health organizations and private insurance companies should instead incentivize people to follow a healthy lifestyle

 @B3X9SP7 from Ohio  answered…6mos6MO

They, should have laws about owning/using one, but if a someone uses them, then the face the consequences.

 @B3X4TGY from Utah  answered…6mos6MO

The government should ban promotion of things like vaping that can have very adverse health affects and cause addiction.

 @B3X26PD from Texas  answered…6mos6MO

We shouldnt outright ban it. We should instead limit it and have more regulations for these adverstisements

 @B3VJDCTDemocrat from Rhode Island  answered…6mos6MO

I think that the government should ban the promotion of illegal things such as vaping, but it don't think that they need to ban promotion of things like junk food.

 @B3T6MKLRepublican from Texas  answered…6mos6MO

I think the ban of promotion of vapes and stuff that could kill you versus junk food which can be used in moderation and is not that detrimentive.

 @B3T287X  from Ohio  answered…6mos6MO

No, because doing so would set a precedent for the government to ban anything it considers unhealthy

 @B3SS6KZ from Pennsylvania  answered…6mos6MO

vaping isn't as harmful as junk food, firstly. Second, while I think the promotion should be much more regulated and lessened, I believe it is the government's job to ban harmful substances in our foods.
