No, fund awareness and labels about the dangers of these products instead

 @9MVTXKGIndependent from California  answered…12mos12MO

The government should ban the promotion of products such as vapes, but not junk food.

 @9NM3T45 from Missouri  answered…11mos11MO

No, the government should not ban the promotion of unhealthy lifestyle products aimed towards young people. They should instead invest time and money in promoting the dangers of all these products to a person's health.

 @9TJPPHM from Maryland  commented…8mos8MO

if promoting dangers worked then I wouldn't have seen any of my peers smoke cigarettes when i was in high school. None of that stuff works if someone in their household does it. Ban all that crap. Don't even know why we have vapes and cigarettes anyway they do nothing for you but put a heavy tax on your health that you're going to pay for later.

 @passerby92 from California  commented…8mos8MO

I thought that backfired with cigarettes, at least for people who were already addicted. Something about warning labels triggers a stress response, which tends to drive people to seek out their usual coping behaviors, in effect creating an overall trend of increased undesired behavior (and shame, which also contributes to stress, and therefore the vicious spiral).

 @9XQV887 from New Hampshire  answered…6mos6MO

Yes, for things like vaping but healthy eating is complex and labeling something "junk food" can be a slippery slope

 @9MSCHX6 from California  answered…12mos12MO

Vaping should be banned, however junk food is more of a complicated issue because it is cheap and may be the only way for some families to get food throughout the day.

 @9RHSZ4M from Florida  answered…10mos10MO

Banning would violate commercial free speech, however I do think government agencies should do a better job at educating the public via educational public health campaigns.

 @9RQLG7C  from Illinois  disagreed…9mos9MO

I don't think it would violate free speech, based on the precedent of the banning of cigarette ads. Banning or restricting advertising is a lot different than restricting the product itself. I agree about the campaigns, though.

 @9ZX2MY5 from Massachusetts  answered…5mos5MO

No, provide an information bar at the bottom of the screen, briefly describing the negative health effects of vaping and junk food instead.

 @9YLTPPK from Missouri  answered…6mos6MO

Yes, but only to things like alcohol and other drugs. Junk food is somewhat acceptable because it can be a treat of sorts for a job well done.

 @9S2PG43 from Virginia  answered…9mos9MO

I disagree that the government should ban any of these products, but I do agree that they should fund greater warning campaigns regarding these products. People have a rights to engage and behaviors that are detrimental or counterproductive to their own health. As long as it does not affect other people. We should always give people greater warning as to the consequences they may receive as a result of their behavior and the effect it could have on their lives beyond their health, but also socially.

 @B4CSCQ2Independent from Massachusetts  answered…1mo1MO

No, provide an information bar at the bottom of the screen briefly describing the negative health effects of vaping, junk food and other unhealthy lifestyles instead.

 @B3FZ5K6 from Minnesota  answered…2mos2MO

The government should regulate vaping in the same way it regulates smoking, and should do more to encourage healthy eating.

 @9VZHHFLNo Labels  from Minnesota  answered…6mos6MO

Instead of banning the promotion of unhealthy lifestyles they should advertise more of healthy lifestyles and why you should be healthy.

 @9ZKPQXZ from Kansas  answered…6mos6MO

They should be heavily regulated and require warnings (like cigarettes in other countries), but it still should be an American's choice to consume unhealthy lifestyles, just so long as information about the negatives of the lifestyle is readily available.

 @9MSVV63Republican from Tennessee  answered…12mos12MO

Only vaping since junk food is such a large part of the economy, such as takis or poptarts, for example.

 @9QSD657 from Illinois  answered…10mos10MO

The promotion shouldn't be banned; however, they should be required to list the risks in any promotional content.

 @9PT6LY3Democrat from North Carolina  answered…11mos11MO

Yes, but accompany the ban with an educational campaign and requirements for parents to play a stronger role in guiding the youth towards embracing healthier habits

 @9L4Z23BIndependent  from Pennsylvania  answered…12mos12MO

 @B5984S4Republican from Missouri  answered…3 days3D

I think that the people should get to do what they want as long as it not hurting others, and in this case they wont be hurting others so I don't see a problem in it.

 @B55LWJC from North Carolina  answered…1wk1W

Unfortunately we cannot ban things like vaping and junk food, so instead we should promote anti-junk food and vaping ads and put a tax on these types of products to discourage the use of them.

 @B52JG8N from New Jersey  answered…2wks2W

Junk food is okay, and it's also fine to promote it less, but it is important to stop promoting vaping.

 @B4YLWC8 from Utah  answered…2wks2W

Nicotine products should not be promoted period. Addicting substances with intense withdrawals should be banned from commercial use.

 @B4VY9CC from Pennsylvania  answered…2wks2W

its not the governments desicion on whether or not a young person decides to destroy their life with a simple puff or bite.

 @B4VPGV2 from Tennessee  answered…2wks2W

Ban the promotion of vapes but not junk food, though it should still fund awareness about the dangers of junk food

 @B4VCNX9Peace and Freedom from Florida  answered…2wks2W

Ban the promotion of vaping and fund awareness labels about the dangers of junk food but don't ban promotion of junk food.

 @B4TN2NKLibertarian from Georgia  answered…3wks3W

Give ultimatums around making companies warn users, or else they suffer a penalty in monetary value, in other words, tax them for ignoring issues.

 @B4MBN4R from Tennessee  answered…4wks4W

Yes, ban vapes but not junk food. Funding awareness won't do much to stop people from eating junk food and vaping. It's addiction.

 @B4L3KBH from Texas  answered…4wks4W

Yes, state and local governments should do so for certain products, as well as get rid of commercial billboards.

 @B4KXH3Y from South Carolina  answered…4wks4W

Not ban, but heavily regulate and require specific companies to disclose publicly information of potential harmful products such as vaping

 @B4KVZ3XIndependent from Tennessee  answered…4wks4W

No, but they should promote the production of healthier and more organic foods, and ban the use of toxic chemicals in consumable products

 @B4JS9KJ from New York  answered…1mo1MO

No, the government should just explain the negatives of these matters similarly to how cigarettes were described in commercials in the 90's

 @B4JN3QT from Utah  answered…1mo1MO

No, but there should be more education and parental guidance to promote healthy lifestyles backed up by scientific evidence.

 @B4JCJ4J from Michigan  answered…1mo1MO

No, but they should provide incentives for individuals and companies to not promote unhealthy lifestyles.

 @B472RGZ from North Carolina  answered…1mo1MO

There should be more regulation, Mexico is an example of restrictions placed on junk food due to high levels of obesity.

 @B46DKM2 from Georgia  answered…2mos2MO

Vaping, tobacco products, etc., should have a minimum age purchase requirement of 25 years or older and be strictly regulated. I would support banning cigarettes.

 @B46B4RW  from Georgia  answered…2mos2MO

No, the governments job is to inform without influence. They should not ban it but make it very clear of risks

 @B468M7W from Minnesota  answered…2mos2MO

While I agree that there should be regulations on harmful products that may promote unhealthy lifestyles, outright banning promotion is a dangerous game to play, as it may be viewed as censorship. Personally, I am all for regulating how companies are able to market their products to young people, but banning promotion as a whole feels like an infringement on free speech, and would present the question, "if they can ban that, what else can they ban?"

 @B466J2Qfrom Maine  answered…2mos2MO

More promotion of healthy products but completely ban the promotion of vaping, drugs, cigarettes etc...

 @B44HD54 from Illinois  answered…2mos2MO

Schools should have both junk food and healthy food but more healthy food choices. Every once and a while junk food is okay but having it all the time and all day then it’s a problem. Vaping is bad for young kids but they will always find a while to get vapes and carts or any drug.

 @B42BSRM from South Carolina  answered…2mos2MO

No, but information on the negative effects of such harmful substances should be further provided to buyers.

 @B425TCL from Missouri  answered…2mos2MO

Regulate advertising for vaping but not for junk food. Make it clear what the risks and ingredients are but let them make their own choice from there

 @B3Z2VBB from Georgia  answered…2mos2MO

I think we should be limited to the amount of snacks we are able to buy and consume. Instead of banning it completely. Vaping for young people should be banned because its addictive and harmful to your body.

 @B3Z49YC from Georgia  answered…2mos2MO

While I think the promotion of such products shouldn't be banned, it should be limited in a way that doesn't infringe on free speech, or at least not as much as an outright ban would. For example, limiting the places these products can be promoted.

 @B3YL2J3 from Texas  answered…2mos2MO

Vaping, smoking, drugs, and alcohol should be discouraged, but on state, personal, and criminal levels. The government should not interfere with people's lives in that manner.

 @B3YDJZY  from Oklahoma  answered…2mos2MO

people are still going to find ways to do what they want even if the promoting of the products are banned

 @B3Y3ZHY from New Jersey  answered…2mos2MO

No, health organizations and private insurance companies should instead incentivize people to follow a healthy lifestyle

 @B3X9SP7 from Ohio  answered…2mos2MO

They, should have laws about owning/using one, but if a someone uses them, then the face the consequences.

 @B3X4TGY from Utah  answered…2mos2MO

The government should ban promotion of things like vaping that can have very adverse health affects and cause addiction.

 @B3X26PD from Texas  answered…2mos2MO

We shouldnt outright ban it. We should instead limit it and have more regulations for these adverstisements

 @B3VJDCTDemocrat from Rhode Island  answered…2mos2MO

I think that the government should ban the promotion of illegal things such as vaping, but it don't think that they need to ban promotion of things like junk food.

 @B3T6MKLRepublican from Texas  answered…2mos2MO

I think the ban of promotion of vapes and stuff that could kill you versus junk food which can be used in moderation and is not that detrimentive.

 @B3T287X  from Ohio  answered…2mos2MO

No, because doing so would set a precedent for the government to ban anything it considers unhealthy

 @B3SS6KZ from Pennsylvania  answered…2mos2MO

vaping isn't as harmful as junk food, firstly. Second, while I think the promotion should be much more regulated and lessened, I believe it is the government's job to ban harmful substances in our foods.

 @B3SKJPG from California  answered…2mos2MO

No, it is an inevitable result that anyone buys the product without knowing it from the ads. It either complete ban or keep.

 @B3SJKKZ from Michigan  answered…2mos2MO

The government should ban the promotion of things that contribute to unhealthy lifestyles that are still detrimental to their health even in moderation like vaping. If you eat some potato chips every once in a while you're gonna be okay but vaping is addictive and harmful even in moderation.

 @7WDP6PTIndependent  from North Carolina  answered…2mos2MO

No, vaping and eating unhealthy foods are choices and the Government can make programs or give money to companies wanting to limit their use but other than that it's peoples choices to use them

 @B3PFR6CSocialist from Missouri  answered…2mos2MO

No, but truth should be more strictly mandated requiring information about health affects and other potentially harmful results.

 @B3PFCG5 from Texas  answered…2mos2MO

No, vaping is already illegal for underaged individual, the rest should be decided by the parent (junk food and what not)

 @B3PC2WF from South Carolina  answered…2mos2MO

Promotion and production should not be penalized, however, pigouvian taxes levied on unhealthy products such as sugar and tobacco should be implimented

 @B3MS7QH from Florida  answered…2mos2MO

Vaping yes, junk food no because we can eat what we want at any age but we can vape or do drugs at any age

 @B3MRDZ9 from Texas  answered…2mos2MO

I think maybe only ban the promotion of vaping. Especially for young people. Unhealthy food should be a persons choice whether to have it or not

 @B3LHKF5 from Kansas  answered…2mos2MO

It would be ideal if these products were not in usage, but the government cannot realistically ban them.

 @B3L38JF from Kentucky  answered…2mos2MO

yes vaping should not be allowed but if they want to eat junk food it should not be banned its food.

 @B3KVZGJ  from Ohio  answered…2mos2MO

Ban products that have no health benefits. Junk food could be part of a healthy diet. Tobacco is not.

 @B3KF54R from Florida  answered…2mos2MO

Yes and no. Ban vaping because that causes more worse issues but junk food has a limit on the amount you can have

 @B3KF4TY from Florida  answered…2mos2MO

No, the government should not ban the promotion of things like junk food but should ban the promotion of things like vapes because they are basically just Cigarettes but even worse for your lungs.

 @B3K58C8 from Illinois  answered…2mos2MO

Not completely eliminate junk food, but definitely reduce the heavy advertising and take down the advertising of vape and smoking to young and old individuals.

 @B3HQLYW from Oklahoma  answered…2mos2MO

It should not be banned as we supposedly live in a free society. There should be incentives for healthy living. Vaping should have the same legal limitations as smoking.

 @B3H228V from Nevada  answered…2mos2MO

An outright ban on products such as these would incur less regulations on the materials used on the product, leading to much more dangerous versions of the products. Instead, the products should have heavier regulations on what could be used in the product, like restricting addictive materials such as nicotine.

 @B3GZZ6G from Missouri  answered…2mos2MO

I believe that vaping should be banned, or at least that the minimum age should be increased. I do not think you could get rid of junk food because it would have a large hit on the economy

 @B3GXQTYDemocrat from Washington  answered…2mos2MO

yes they should ban the promotions of vaping but junk food is nowhere near as bad as vaping is for you

 @B3DPRMP from Iowa  answered…2mos2MO

Yes, and it should thusly start employing content creators at living wages to replace these harmful ads with multiculturally relevant PSAs.

 @B3DFZCW from Florida  answered…2mos2MO

Yes, but only for things such as vaping. Junk food should be up to parents to teach their children about.

 @B3D6KDW from South Carolina  answered…2mos2MO

I think the junk food can be changed to making said junk food not pumped up with additives what not and the banning of vapes would ban the usage of vapes increase the usage of what other substance

 @B3D4Z5GRepublican from Virginia  answered…2mos2MO

Junk food shouldn't be banned, it's just food, and it's their fault if they overeat it. But vaping should be banned due to its addiction and its danger to your health.

 @B3D4VRTRepublican from Virginia  answered…2mos2MO

I don't believe that these two should be categized. but junk food should aloud advertise. were as vaping is an addictive substance.

 @B3CTTTW from Kentucky  answered…2mos2MO

Things like vaping yes but, things like junk food not being an advertised can lose many jobs and a lot of money from that market

 @B3CLXXP from Texas  answered…2mos2MO

No, but make it easier for young people to have access to healthier alternatives to food and recreation

 @B3C7T5F from Idaho  answered…2mos2MO

I believe that there no need to do all this, at the end of the day theres people who will do there own

 @B3BFH2H from California  answered…2mos2MO

It depends on where its being advertised and what it is. vaping and junk food are very different issues.

 @B3B9SK7 from Kansas  answered…2mos2MO

Government should be allowed to monitor these and state them untrue but complete bans may be unconstitutional.

 @B3B88RJ from California  answered…2mos2MO

Things like alchohol and smoking and drugs yes, but bad food should be fine, the kids know what they're getting into

 @B39MR8Nfrom Washington  answered…2mos2MO

for junk food yes, but vaping is a necessary step to move away from tobacco and fight against cancer.

 @B38TC6SProgressive from Washington  answered…3mos3MO

They shouldn’t, but there should also be a warning that it is unhealthy so it’s ultimately the consumer’s choice.

 @B38RDP9 from Texas  answered…3mos3MO

It doesn't matter if the government bans the promotion of products that contribute to unhealthy lifestyles for young people as they will still buy it regardless.

 @B38RB25 from Nevada  answered…3mos3MO

Ban the promotion of products that contribute to unhealthy lifestyles for young people, such as drugs and alcohol, but not junk food.

 @B37ZD43 from California  answered…3mos3MO

No, but reform the food pyramid and explain the health risks of an unhealthy lifestyle in all details to American K-12 students.

 @B373S7L from California  answered…3mos3MO

Yes, but they should separate the actual benefits like vaping and junk food. Vaping can be life-threatening, but eating junk food isn't as terrible as inhaling an extremely toxic air into your lungs.

 @B373HYX from California  answered…3mos3MO

Yes for vaping but no for Junk food because it's okay for young people to have a nice snack once a while but they should learn to not always eat Junk food

 @B37235MNo Labels from Ohio  answered…3mos3MO

This is a yes and no because at the end of the day, it's the individual's choice, and their upbringing and values that all tie into their decision to contribute to an unhealthy lifestyle.

 @B35SPLQ from Texas  answered…3mos3MO

There is a vast difference between vaping and junk food; these two should not be grouped under the same umbrella.

 @B35GYT8 from Texas  answered…3mos3MO

Promotion of unhealthy lifestyles shouldn't be banned, instead the government should provide subsidies toward the promotion of healthy lifestyles.

 @B356PQP from Missouri  answered…3mos3MO

They should ban promotion for vaping and similar products, and discourage but not eliminate promotion of junk food as it is not as harmful as drugs.

 @B34MFZD from Georgia  answered…3mos3MO

No adults can and should have the right to what they want when it comes to their body such as vaping smoking drinking eating junk food

 @B329TVM from Utah  answered…3mos3MO

I think the government shouldn't be able to say what should or shouldn't be banned like they don't get to decide weather or not they should ban advertisements

 @B323YVQ from Nebraska  answered…3mos3MO

No, just regulate how those foods and things are made and sold so that it’s less dangerous and young people have less access to them.
