Yes, as long as a disclosure is prominently displayed on packaging and restaurant menus

 @B3B2H28 from Alabama  agreed…6mos6MO

as long as the food is safe for consumption, it is okay to be on shelves, and any and everything out of the usual should be disclosed

 @9MRFP83 from Utah  answered…1yr1Y

Yes, but when the meat is sold it should be required to disclose that it is lab grown as well as undergo several chemical tests.

 @9PTWSB4Democrat from Missouri  answered…1yr1Y

Yes, but with the same FDA regulations all other meat or meat substitute products have. As long as it is safe, it is a good solution to certain environmental issues.

 @9PZ9FLSfrom Vermont  answered…1yr1Y

Yes, as long as it is specified by the manufacturer on the package at the store that the meat is lab-grown

 @ISIDEWITHasked…12mos12MO

How would you feel about replacing traditional meat with lab-grown versions in your daily meals?

 @9TSG5T8 from Virginia  answered…12mos12MO

Personally, I prefer traditional meat. But, I would support lab grown meet in grocery stores for those who'd want it.

 @9YFG8M9answered…10mos10MO

I am vegetarian. I see nothing wrong with Lab-Grown Meat, I see it as meat, and won't eat.

 @62WJDGP from Michigan  answered…10mos10MO

I’m not against it. As long there have been long enough studies to show it doesn’t cause health problems or cancer.

 @9WXKNGX from Maine  answered…10mos10MO

I need my real beaf... But on a more serious note - the ethics of any logical extension og vegetarianism I am rather sceptical of.

 @9TB3J59 from Indiana  answered…12mos12MO

Yes, as long as disclosure is prominently displayed on packaging and restaurant menus, and further research is done about long-term health effects, and also when the long-term health effects are understood and "discovered", they need to be displayed to the public and not hidden.

 @9Q5CYST from Arkansas  answered…1yr1Y

If you want to buy it at a supermarket knowing it is lab grown that is fine, but putting it into restaurants will people not knowing is not ok.

 @9PBPTYK from Pennsylvania  answered…1yr1Y

I hate the idea of actually keeping animals locked in a lab solely for meat, but if it's just bioengineering in a lab I could see this as a good alternative to keeping animals locked up or butchered.

 @9Q6CX4D from Michigan  commented…1yr1Y

animals belong on a farm; regenerative agriculture is the correct way. Not industrial farming.

 @B5KYJ2QNo Labels from New York  disagreed…4mos4MO

What exactly makes it the correct way? A person should have the right to choose what they consume. Factory-farmed meat is filled with antibiotics and inconsistencies in quality. This could potentially solve world hunger and not allowing it because its not done "the correct way" does not make sense.

 @ISIDEWITHasked…12mos12MO

What concerns might you have about the long-term impact of consuming lab-grown meat compared to traditional meat?

 @9TP9KF4 from Texas  answered…12mos12MO

We'll never really know what's in the lab grown meat or everything they do to it, and how these could impact long-term health

 @9TPB93G from Ohio  answered…12mos12MO

The health risks could possibly be worrisome for humans if there were some negative findings with lab grown meat.

 @9TP868H from Nevada  answered…12mos12MO

I believe in the science and think that it should be just fine. Provided tests are accurate and correct, and there are no harmful side effects, I am all for it.

 @B55K6C2 from Kansas  answered…4mos4MO

No

I think that's the point of doing the study. We really don't know what concerns to have. Should allow it because of free market, but we should also be studying it to see what the long-term impact it could potentially have on people.

 @9VK7TYN from Georgia  answered…11mos11MO

The government should allow the commercialization of lab-grown meat as long as a disclosure is prominently displayed on packaging and restaurant menus, but we need more long-term studies to ensure safety.

 @9Q5DVF9 from New York  answered…1yr1Y

Yes, but its status as lab-grown must be stated in large and clear print on its packaging. More, unbiased research must also continue to be done into its health effects,

 @9QSCDPJ from Washington  answered…1yr1Y

It doesn't explain how it cultivates or what animal the lab grown meat comes from or if it will even look like an animal before enough meat is able to be taken fat full capacity from a cell. Not enough info

 @9MQ8Z96 from Oklahoma  answered…1yr1Y

Yes, but only after extensive testing has been performed and verified in a triple blind study performed by an independent org that is verifiably not bought out by a party of interest.

 @ISIDEWITHasked…12mos12MO

Considering potential health implications, would you prefer lab-grown meat over traditional if it was proven to be healthier? Why?

 @9TSHTQ7 from Illinois  answered…12mos12MO

No, we should not use lab grown meat because they could have products that wouldn't be healthy for anyone

 @9TSH4RJ from Washington  answered…12mos12MO

No, because of the taste and the vast nutrient density of the meat currently on the market.

  @@1876-Elbert from Colorado  answered…11mos11MO

No

No

I'm a rancher. We need money, otherwise we'll struggle even more that we already are.

 @B4W3XX3 from California  answered…5mos5MO

The question of whether governments should allow the commercialization of lab-grown meat is a complex one with arguments on both sides. Proponents highlight the potential environmental and ethical benefits, while opponents raise concerns about safety, energy consumption, and consumer acceptance.

 @9V3CMKP from Michigan  answered…12mos12MO

should not. No one really knows the risk of what you could be eating if its taken from a lab and is lab grown

 @9WJLXF9 from Texas  answered…11mos11MO

No, the focus should be on improving the animal's well-being and impact rather than coming out with lab-grown anything

 @9W8C344 from New York  answered…11mos11MO

yes bc let me that you is bc in the real world animal dose grown that fast thway human eat everyday ,minute,seconds, hours. and if u have a growing lab meat will be grown faster and thats they we have GMO food bc that dosent matter bc of what the government tell you is the people that dose missing is actually turns in food we eat and yes is hard to believe but its TRUE.

  @@1876-Elbert from Colorado  commented…11mos11MO

 @9VXYPGG from Idaho  answered…11mos11MO

I think scientists should get to make lab-grown meat but no one should be allowed to eat it. Instead of circumventing the meat industry people should focus on making it more ethical. Lab-grown meat is unnecessary for the general public.

 @9SWN4FG from Kansas  answered…1yr1Y

I think we need more discussion on this topic. We need to stop the industrial agronomy and move to small, local farming of a regenerative nature. Break up the big, corporate farms.

 @9RMPJDNSocialist from New York  answered…1yr1Y

its a weird question because meat free alternatives that are vegan or vegetarian are nice even if im not one i think its important to provide for those who do prefer to not eat meat to have the option

 @B6RZWTP from North Dakota  answered…6 days6D

No, the best and healthiest food is food raised on the farm and organically fed/ grown and is in the farm to table category

 @B6RY824 from Texas  answered…7 days7D

Yes, but more long-term studies to ensure safety and display labeling on packaging and restaurant menus

 @B6RV24XLibertarian from Minnesota  answered…1wk1W

No. If the government is funding anything we should be investing local farmers that raise a sustainable food source

 @B6RRTHV from California  answered…1wk1W

Yes, as long as the meat has gone through testing to ensure that it is safe to eat. Also, as long as a disclosure is prominently displayed on packaging and restaurant menus.

 @B6RG473 from West Virginia  answered…1wk1W

I think we need more studies to ensure it is safe with good long-term effects, but we also need to figure it out semi quickly to stop harming animals.

 @B6R7SL3 from California  answered…1wk1W

yes, as long as any risks and the origin of the meat is disclosed prominently in advertising and packaging

 @B6R5CFX from Alabama  answered…1wk1W

Meat processing facilities should have stricter emissions and regulations but lab grown meat would but many people out of jobs.

 @B6QWWR9 from Pennsylvania  answered…1wk1W

No honestly I wouldn't even eat lab grown meat because it's fake and made in a lab, Like I wouldn't even know what the scientist put in there, It's probably poison.

 @B6QDY9C from Texas  answered…1wk1W

Yes, at most, cooperation with the government to ensure the safety or nutrition of food should be optional for companies.

 @B6Q4WTQProgressive from Illinois  answered…1wk1W

Yes, so long as it is properly disclosed AND studied by the FDA and other independent food safety administrations

 @B6Q3Y67 from Idaho  answered…1wk1W

We need more research on the safety and health of lab grown meat before we start eating it. For right now, leave it to the farmers.

 @B6PJ35S from Arizona  answered…2wks2W

yes but as long as their safety is completely ensured and it is prominently displayed in packages that they are lab grown

 @B6PFVHG from Florida  answered…2wks2W

yes, the government should allow lab-green meat commercialization, but it should set some type of safety an d regulations to protect consumers and support a fair transition for farmers.

 @B6PFQ5R from Illinois  answered…2wks2W

any/all kinds of meat should be banned as it is cruelty to animals even if lab grown and instead replace with vegan options

 @B6PFG5W from Washington  answered…2wks2W

Yes, but after the appropriate amount of testing and studies have been done and it's been labled approximately and in plain terms for the public

 @B6PC52NLibertarian from California  answered…2wks2W

Absolutely not if we as humans were meant to eat that kind of stuff it would already be here we need to stop all prepossessing of foods around the globe. Extremely important.

 @B6P98Z2 from Alabama  answered…2wks2W

The government should not have more control than regulations and should not require it to be posted on the label.

 @B6P5C9V from Massachusetts  answered…2wks2W

no I think the government shouldn't over-produce meat,because there are too many vegetables rotting daily and balance is more important to me.

 @B6P3TKB from Florida  answered…2wks2W

It should be allowed, but heavily researched and safety tested, and people should always know whether they are buying natural or lab grown meat. Either way, I'd never eat it myself.

 @B6P3PT4 from California  answered…2wks2W

The government should not interfere with the free market. I don’t and won’t ever buy lab grown meat, but if others want to, and it’s safe, they should have that option.

 @B3VGV2T  from California  answered…2wks2W

The decision of whether to allow the commercialization of lab-grown meat is complex, with strong arguments on both sides. Proponents highlight potential benefits like reduced environmental impact and animal welfare concerns, while opponents raise questions about safety, cost, and consumer acceptance.
Arguments in favor of commercialization:
Reduced environmental impact:
Cultivated meat production can significantly decrease greenhouse gas emissions, land use, and water consumption compared to traditional livestock farming.
Animal welfare:
Cultivated meat eliminates the need for raising and…  Read more

 @B6NRQW3 from Florida  answered…2wks2W

I suppose if the fda comes to the conclusion that it is safe for human consumption it may possibly be a cheaper alternative and if people want said product it’s their prerogative, however personally I would not consume that.

 @B6NJMPZ from Indiana  answered…2wks2W

I believe the government should distribute lab grown meat for low prices across country and maintain public control over the meat production.

 @B6NFYXN from California  answered…2wks2W

it depends because we can either farm livestock and potentially make farm animals go extinct, or comsube unsafe meat from the lab

 @B6NF2PWDemocrat from California  answered…2wks2W

It depends because we could either keep farming livestock and potentially have farm animals go extinct or consume the lab-grown meat that could be unsafe to eat.

 @B6ND7ZD from South Carolina  answered…2wks2W

Yes, as long as a disclosure is placed on packaging and restaurant menus. Also, all ingredients and means of creating this meat needs to be public information.

 @B6N9RZP from Illinois  answered…2wks2W

No, no matter how well you can alternate a product it will never be the same as the actual meat, it could also have secondary effects.

 @B6N8QZM from Michigan  answered…2wks2W

the federal government should stick to the enumerated powers listed in the constitution and determining what can be sold as food is not among them.

 @B6N68RK from California  answered…2wks2W

It depends on the situation because we could either farm livestock forever and potentially have farm animals go extinct or consume lab-grown meat and get foodborne illnesses.

 @B6N66SN from California  answered…2wks2W

Both yes and no. We need to ensure that this method of producing meat is both safe and secure for our nation.

 @B6N2XF6 from Utah  answered…2wks2W

This is too new and the meat grown in labs is not enough to satisfy peoples wants and needs. So no because they wouldn't be able to meet the supply and demand.

 @B6MLCWL from Michigan  answered…2wks2W

the last sentence is questioning. I agree with everything but if its a long term health risk them maybe keep trying or working the things.

 @B6MF8PB from California  answered…2wks2W

Yes, with clear labeling and with studies to support if its consumable, as well as regulations for the industry.

 @B6M53ZM from Virginia  answered…2wks2W

Yes, If we can prove it's safe and the environmental impact is lower I see no problems. I can't imagine lab-grown meat actually used less energy than an animal though.

 @B6LWNMK from Missouri  answered…2wks2W

If it’s guaranteed to be safe, and it’s disclosure is displayed prominently on any packaging or restaurant menus, then yes

 @B6LVH3M from Utah  answered…2wks2W

Just make sure it helps you, but don't do lab grown meat only. Keep the animal meat it may taste better and natural.

 @B6LTNBK from Ohio  answered…2wks2W

Yes, once proven it is 100% good for all citizens and won't cause issues in the gut or health. There should also be a disclosure so people aren't led on

 @B6LQY3J from Texas  answered…2wks2W

no because lab grown meats can have harmful substances in it because of the stuff used to produce the lab grown meats.

 @B6LQL84 from Illinois  answered…2wks2W

If it can help people in poverty then I think it would be good, but it should not be used by companies to increase profits.

 @B6LLYDV from Utah  answered…2wks2W

Yes, but only after more research is done for safety and disclosure is prominently displayed on packaging and restaurant menus

 @B6LLR4W from Oklahoma  answered…3wks3W

Neither let private or public food industry companies or corporations do this or research groups not the government

 @B6LLBXC from Utah  answered…3wks3W

the government shlould allow it, but just for those prototypes that has passed tests regulated by the government itself.

 @B6LL2HV from Colorado  answered…3wks3W

It should be allowed but kept to a limited amount of suppliers, this allows for long ter safty studies to be more available while still being able to stop production quickly if it is deemed unsafe.

 @B6L8Y3D from Missouri  answered…3wks3W

Lab grown meat doesn't actually help the planet or health. It still has the same health benefits and concerns and uses roughly the same amount of resources. Other options need to be explored for sustainability and resource use neutrality, possibly shifting away from factory farm models and localizing livestock cultivation and distribution.

 @B6L6QMVDemocrat  from California  answered…3wks3W

i think it realy depends like there is so many benifits to stop like it will help global warming but if its only grown meat then we will only be inserting chemicals in our body

 @B6L655W from Maryland  answered…3wks3W

The government should focus less on regulation and permitting and more on policing and oversight in instances of wrongdoing, neglect, or fraud.

 @B6KWMFD from Colorado  answered…3wks3W

Test the meat and its future health regards. If it is relatively as safe as other processed foods in America then it should be allowed.

 @B6K6YS6 from Florida  answered…3wks3W

Yes, but only if there is no hazards to life under consumption and there is continuous studies being conducted.

 @B6JNZTJ from Illinois  answered…3wks3W

No, because that would put many farmers out of jobs. It's the same thing with construction and making roads that don't need to be repaired.

 @B6JGTYL from New Mexico  answered…3wks3W

I believe that lab-grown meat should be tested more, with its long-term effects recorded and shared publicly. If it is deemed safe to consume, the government should be allowed to commercialize its use. Packaging and restaurant menus should also disclose if their product is, in fact, lab-grown.

 @B6JBYVC from Colorado  answered…3wks3W

Yes, as long as disclosure is added to packaging and labels, and an effort towards long-term safety is also researched.

 @B6JBMYQ from Texas  answered…3wks3W

Lab-grown food has indeed been processed to prevent disease, but in some cases this meat could affect a person's health.

 @B6J6R4S from California  answered…4wks4W

Lab-grown meat has been shown to yield good and bad with trial and error, almost like anything else in this world. So as long as there is proper packaging to avoid confusion, with enough research and long-term study, eventually full commercialization will be a plus for society, especially given the numerous problems it will address such as species endangerment and climate change. For now, commercialization isn't a bad idea perse, it just needs more time before going into full swing.

 @B6HMZGF from Georgia  answered…4wks4W

It should be commercialized, but also be labeled as such and there should still be options for normally produced and sustained meats.

 @B6HGMK4 from Texas  answered…4wks4W

Yes, after more long-term studies and with prominently displayed disclosure on packaging and restaurant menus

 @B6GZ9H9 from California  answered…4wks4W

I believe that they should do a more long-term study to ensure safety but also disclose that the meat is lab grown on the packaging.

 @B6GW9GZ from Tennessee  answered…4wks4W

Lab-grown meats have risks of contamination. They also have poor nutritional value and are potentially harmful cell culture techniques.

 @B6GNDKG from Indiana  answered…1mo1MO

We need more long-term studies to ensure absolute safety, but other than that, if the packaging and menus clearly say that the meat is lab-grown, then yes.

 @B6G8X5P from Texas  answered…1mo1MO

No, needs more studies for safety and animal suffering is a different problem that should be held against the responsible farms

 @B6G74XK from Mississippi  answered…1mo1MO

They should not be able to prohibit it however people should be made aware what goes into creating it

 @B6G58B6 from Virginia  answered…1mo1MO

Yes, as long as it’s shown to be completely safe and approved and an easy to spot disclosure on packaging
