It really depends how hard we want to make things for ourselves, and employing every technology possible to help curb it is necessary not just to people's safety, but to the future of mankind. Taking every precaution to prevent disasters like rapid climate change is what provides us a better and safer future, so leaving any options out makes it riskier later on.
