Ukraine is an up and coming European nation looking to leave the Russian Sphere of Influence. With Miltary support and better economic ties to the west, the threat of Russia could be more effectively countered, the production (primary/secondary/tertiary) of Ukraine could be advanced at a rate Ukraine has never seen which would drastically improve the lives of all Ukrainians, and the rest of NATO would benefit from the Ukrainian food production.

Arguments supporting Ukraine's eventual membership in NATO, based on available information, often highlight the following points:
1. Enhanced Security and Stability:
NATO membership would provide Ukraine with the collective defense guarantee of Article 5, meaning an attack on Ukraine would be considered an attack on all NATO members.
This could deter future Russian aggression and contribute to long-term stability in Eastern Europe.
2. Strengthening Ukraine's Defense Capabilities:
NATO provides substantial support for Ukraine's military modernization, training, and interoperabi…  Read more

NATO is a defense military pact and the strongest in the world. If Russia can’t defend Ukraine by itself with western military aid, how will Russia be able to beat all of NATO?

 @9GG3W8Pfrom Guam  agreed…2yrs2Y

I took a degree in International Relations with a focus in International Political Economy. I used to be anti US intervention, but after learning more in university I slowly became more and more pro US intervention in order to maintain the current western status quo

No

 @9FP7GGS from Idaho  disagreed…2yrs2Y

What would it hurt to allow Ukraine into NATO? Peace can be achieved and maintained through superior firepower.

 @9J397XN from Minnesota  disagreed…1yr1Y

It would make no sense if there were someone to say that they do not agree with Ukraine joining NATO.

 @9LXXJHQ from Connecticut  disagreed…1yr1Y

They need NATO to help them and evoke the rule of an attack on one is an attack on all. It can only be done with them joining NATO though.

 @ISIDEWITHDiscuss this answer...3yrs3Y

No, this should be decided after the current war ends so we avoid a third world war

 @9FLTVV5 from Idaho  disagreed…2yrs2Y

Having Ukraine join NATO will make Russia reconsider their attacks as they are no longer attacking one single nation, they are attacking an alliance and therefore the fault of WW3 would be on them.

 @B3VGV2T  from California  disagreed…2wks2W

Arguments against Ukraine's NATO membership during the war often emphasize the risk of escalation and the potential for drawing NATO into a direct conflict with Russia. Proponents of this view suggest that Ukraine's membership could trigger an Article 5 contingency, which requires all NATO members to come to the defense of any member under attack. Given the ongoing conflict, bringing Ukraine in could immediately force NATO into a direct confrontation with a nuclear-armed Russia, something European Parliament Vice President Graff Lambsdorff noted as a scenario "the West is not…  Read more

Russia has been losing a bunch of its equipment in its war against Ukraine. Letting Ukraine join NATO now will either deter Russia and force them to leave or let us curb stomp whatever they have left of a military.

 @9ZKHXQV  from Florida  disagreed…7mos7MO

Russia has a history of breaking agreements they sign, include the Minsk I agreement and several times with Minsk II. Ukrainian sovereignty will not be secured and by extension the security of Europe and ourselves until Ukraine has join the EU and NATO. We can infer Russia intended to target the Baltic states like they did with Ukraine as Boris Yeltsin falsely claimed Estonia was running an apartheid regime against Russian speakers. Ukraine wants to prosper, they see the success of post soviet states like Poland and want that, however that means joining the EU which Russia doesn’t want…  Read more

No, and abolish NATO

 @9FR5PD3from Maine  disagreed…2yrs2Y

That would be a disaster, and not only metaphorically. That would encourage Putin to invade Poland, Baltic States and maybe Finland, and Xi to invade Taiwan. After that US would become toxic and isolated on international stage because it abandoned all it's allies. That would impact trade, and maybe even cause an economic collapse in US. The rest of the world wound meanwhile be dominated by totalitarian, neo-collonial powers like China and Russia. I really can't think of a worse damage America can inflict on itselt and the rest of the world than the abolishment of NATO

 @9FN7LMBDemocrat from Pennsylvania  disagreed…2yrs2Y

Yes, Ukraine should be allowed to join NATO. We as a nation vowed to protect Ukraine if they were to fall under attack we should keep our vow to Ukraine. We as a collective organization must help our member states keep their vows.

 @9FP7GGS from Idaho  disagreed…2yrs2Y

If Russia takes the Ukraine, they will keep moving west and try to take back the soviet block countries.

 @9GG3W8Pfrom Guam  disagreed…2yrs2Y

Ukraine could be useful to keep Russia at bay, while abolishing NATO would significantly reduce America's influence on Europe - America's foreign interventions are critical in maintaining global peace

I don't have enough context for the impact of this type of decision on world peace to give a stance meaningfully.

No. NATO is am imperialist hell. I hate NATO. I don't want it's power expanding. Same with the east.

 @9JTX27V from California  answered…1yr1Y

We make a new League of Nations with all countries willing to join not because of political ideology

  @9CJ6CB6 from Virginia  commented…1yr1Y

That ended up being our greatest mistake, it did literally nothing at all, and responded with almost nothing when Hitler curb stomped almost all of Europe, so NATO fits the bill of something overall better and stronger.

 @9JDHYF9 from California  answered…1yr1Y

No, Ukraine should not be supported. I support the Russian Federation. Death to Ukraine. Screw Ukraine. Die Ukraine. Слава Росси!

  @9CJ6CB6 from Virginia  commented…1yr1Y

This my friends is what happens when propagandized nationalism takes holds. Ukraine gets to exist, they’ve fought hard for decades to do so, only recently escaping the nightmare of the USSR, and now being forced into another war against a country that broke its promise. So yes, Ukraine should be in NATO, yes Ukraine should exist, but the main goal is getting you Russian imperialists off of their asses.

  @9CJ6CB6 from Virginia  commented…1yr1Y

 @9CL4GYJ from New York  answered…2yrs2Y

Yes, if NATO and the Ukrainian people vote to allow Ukraine in NATO

  @TruthHurts101 from Washington  disagreed…2yrs2Y

Withdraw from NATO and stop funding Ukraine

 @UncommonP0litic4lLibertarian from Hawaii  agreed…2yrs2Y

Taking a step back from NATO would be like hitting the 'unfollow' button on a particularly drama-inducing friend on social media. No more notifications, no more involvement in squabbles, just peace and quiet. As for funding Ukraine, it's like sponsoring a friend's never-ending world travel while you're stuck at home, isn't it about time we put our wallet back in our pocket?

This question is not relevant since it should be Ukraines choice whether or not they want to join a Treaty with other nations

 @9DY42KM from Texas  answered…2yrs2Y

If Ukraine would like NATO benefits, they should have to join NATO and provide fair funding towards it.

No. There is too much corruption. Pull all support out, and ban Ukraine from ever being part of Nato. They have lied to try and trick us into supporting them, and have constantly lied and made fake news reports constantly about crimes that they staged and were fake or did themselves. Ukraine is our enemy, and should be treated as the corrupt criminal evil nation it is, and labelled as our enemy.
