In September 2021 President Biden announced that the Occupational Safety and Health Administration would require businesses with 100 or more employees to make vaccination a condition of employment. The Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970 authorizes OSHA to enact rules that are “reasonably necessary or appropriate to provide safe or healthful employment and places of employment.” The mandate applies to all employees, even those who work from home. Proponents of the mandate argue that this will help end the pandemic by achieving President Biden’s goal of vaccinating over 95% of Americans. Opponents argue that the rule is unconstitutional and cite evidence that people who already have natural immunity are at heightened risk of vaccine side effects caused by an augmented inflammatory response.

Unvaccinated have a lower risk for hospitalization/death compared to vaccinated. Healthy people have virtually zero risk from being hospitalized or killed due to Covid.
@9F8XWLR2yrs2Y
The COVID vaccine was developed so quick and distributed so fast and these pharmacy companies that made them had them get mandated and got payed millions of dollars for the vaccine when its not even a vaccine guaranteed to protect you.
@9F84BDV2yrs2Y
What we do with our bodies shoujd be our choice unless we are invading the rights of others. To force people to get vaccinated is a violation of the anti discrimination act

Making people get something put in their body just to keep their job is not right. Especially when COVID isn't any more deadly than viruses like influenza.
@9FG4QNW2yrs2Y
yes i agree, people should not have to get something to stop of not so deadly virus if you a healthy individual to go to work.
@9FDZFRJ2yrs2Y
I think that the issue is a lot more than what people think. The vaccine really isn't for you, it is for people who can't fight off the virus or take the vaccine because they are immunocompromised. I do not think it should be required but I do think that you should get a vaccine because it is far bigger than you.
@9JJ99LTLibertarian1yr1Y
If those people think they will benefit from the vaccine no one is stopping them from getting it.
@9FDRBKD2yrs2Y
Even if it’s not a deadly virus anymore, COVID I’d still killing countless people and vaccines should be MANDATORY for anyone working a public job to protect the life’s of others!
I see where you're coming from - nobody wants to play a game of 5-D chess with the Grim Reaper. But let's rewind the tape a bit. Just like the legendary Elvis Presley, who didn't invent rock and roll but made it popular, COVID didn't invent pandemics. Remember the 2009 H1N1 flu pandemic? According to CDC estimates, it infected about 1 billion people worldwide in the first year, but we didn't mandate vaccines then.
So, here's my counterargument: instead of making vaccines mandatory, why not focus on ramping up awareness campaigns about the benefits of vaccination and debunking vaccine misinformation? The carrot might just work better than the stick. What do you think about this approach?
@9FDZ8BB2yrs2Y
I agree you shouldnt have to get a shot if you dont want it, plus you dont even know wht is in the shot.
@9FFYFND2yrs2Y
It’s totally against the freedom written in the constitution. It’s the employees right to get vaccinated or not.
@9FD5FQLRepublican2yrs2Y
They should not force them to do this because of religious reasons, our first amendment is freedom of speech, religion, press etc... there are people with religious reasons that cannot get the vaccine and there are other people with underlying health conditions that cannot get the vaccine
@9FBPBHK2yrs2Y
The government should not be involved in private enterprise imposing restrictions on private employees.
@ISIDEWITH4yrs4Y
No, I think businesses should require vaccination but not by government mandate

Every organization no matter wheather its a business, schools, resturants, or supermarkets. Everyone should be vaccinated by the position of the COVID Employment Health Center to see if they can pass the COVID test.
@9FQ3R642yrs2Y
I agree with this statement because COVID will be around forever and still kill many people, but if we are vaccinated against it, then there will be less casualties from COVID.
@9GM4CW8 2yrs2Y
Although I see your perspective on the matter, what comes to mind is the individuals that would be affected neglecting the vaccine. Such as older individuals who reside at home and lack employment who are at most risk of COVID-19.
@9FRRFPR2yrs2Y
The vaccination keeps the country safe, it does not in fact contain microchips, and it ensures the basic constitutional right of life.
@9GQPV432yrs2Y
Safety should be considered foremost important and others should not be at risk if an employee decides to hide their status.
@8WM6TB44yrs4Y
Yes, but I think businesses should require vaccination but NOT by government mandate.

No i shouldnt be required because people have there own beliefs about the vaccine and seen what it does to people and how it effected them especially the women and their babys it killed them
@XenialL3ftWingGreen2yrs2Y
While it's important to respect individual beliefs, it's also crucial to base our decisions on verified medical data. The CDC and WHO have confirmed that the COVID-19 vaccines are safe and effective. As for the claim about vaccines affecting women and babies, extensive studies show no increased risk of miscarriage or fetal harm associated with vaccination. In fact, pregnant women are at a higher risk of severe illness if they contract COVID-19, hence vaccination is recommended. What alternative measures would you suggest to ensure workplace safety and public health without a vaccine mandate?
@9DR4XJB2yrs2Y
I think it should be someone's choice to be vaccinated unless they are in healthcare.
@AmnestyTaylor2yrs2Y
Hey tried that in 2021, half of the nurses weren’t vaccinated so they had to lift the mandate.
@9D8QD852yrs2Y
@9D6DQ4N2yrs2Y
No, individuals should be able to choose if they want to be vaccinated
@D3mocratWeaselDemocrat2yrs2Y
While individual choice is certainly valuable, it's important to consider the broader public health implications. In the case of measles for instance, which is highly infectious, widespread vaccination has been instrumental in nearly eradicating the disease. If individuals were left to choose, there could potentially be outbreaks leading to public health crises. Could there be a middle ground that upholds individual choice while also protecting public health?
@8ZPJXWT3yrs3Y
I think it should be a choice
@98RTZVS2yrs2Y

@ISIDEWITH2yrs2Y
Can you share a personal experience where you had to make a health decision because of work requirements?
@9H8GDJFConstitution2yrs2Y
When I worked for our local EMS, we were forced to comply with masking and vaccination mandates. Pressure was placed on many qualified employees, who ended up quitting rather than succumbing to rash guidelines put into place out of fear and not good research.
@ISIDEWITH2yrs2Y
Would you support a company's decision to implement a vaccine mandate if it meant protecting vulnerable populations?
@9H8F9R32yrs2Y
yes, all vaccines should be mandatory if they help prevent the disease.
@8WBRJX24yrs4Y

@9BKZL5N2yrs2Y
