Yes

 @9HV4LRR from Iowa  disagreed…1yr1Y

Because it's publically funded money taking from public schools. The public schools have to teach to the standards, but the charter schools do not. Public schools people are welcome, but charter schools have deemed enrollment (with a lot of attitude).

 @9FPFS9H from California  agreed…2yrs2Y

I think charter schools build a higher percentage of scholars than public schools so they are usefull to have to put your child at the school and see him succeed.

 @ISIDEWITHDiscuss this answer...7yrs7Y

No, we should focus on improving our public schools and increasing teacher wages instead

 @ISIDEWITHDiscuss this answer...7yrs7Y

No

 @9FXM6VVDemocrat from Illinois  agreed…2yrs2Y

Charter schools can provide an alternative to public schools, but they cannot fix all the problems public schools face. Public schools need to be adequately funded, and charter schools cannot provide the resources and funding necessary to support all the students in a district

 @9FV4GYQ from Texas  disagreed…2yrs2Y

People should be able to choose where their kids go to school but not at the expense of public school funding.

 @ISIDEWITHDiscuss this answer...7yrs7Y

Yes, and our entire education system should be privatized

 @ISIDEWITHDiscuss this answer...7yrs7Y

Yes, but not at the expense of funding public schools

 @ISIDEWITHDiscuss this answer...7yrs7Y

No, and education should not be privatized

 @9FPFS9H from California  disagreed…2yrs2Y

Yes they should be privatized based on if their following a certain religion or they have history of beeing a private school.

 @ISIDEWITHDiscuss this answer...7yrs7Y

 @8G4T258Patriotic Peoples from Oklahoma  answered…5yrs5Y

No, the reason the students have higher test scores is because those schools have more funding..take their funding and give it to public schools

 @6TJWFCFfrom Minnesota  answered…5yrs5Y

They shouldn't need to exist, the same quality of education should be available in public schools instead of needing to pay to get it in a private school.

 @9S2PDWW from Virginia  answered…9mos9MO

I agree that charter schools must continue to be an available option for those who wish to consider it, charter schools have had better performance rates, and also have an ability to teach a unique curriculum that could appeal to people based upon culture, religion, or preference for their children. But it is important that these charter schools do not become a detriment to the public school system or that they become more available to All those who wish to Consider it. And it should be a priority that we Improve the wages of teachers in public schools and provide courses that will benefit graduates in finding jobs after they complete K to 12.

 @9HNC8JW  from North Carolina  answered…1yr1Y

Parents should be able to choose where their children go to school. More options = better education.

 @9GZDTYYIndependent from Maryland  answered…1yr1Y

Government funding should be focused on public schools and increasing teacher wages, but private institutions should still be able to run private schools for families that want private education for their child.

 @9L4Z23BIndependent  from Pennsylvania  answered…1yr1Y

Yes, and state should make it easier for more charter, magnet, college prep, and vocational/technical schools to be created in school districts and receive accreditation

 @95P6HN4 from North Carolina  answered…3yrs3Y

 @8HXQZTY from Missouri  answered…5yrs5Y

in some cases yes but putting charter school funding over public school is morally wrong and our education system needs to be improved, its not right that 20 minutes away there's schools that cant afford basic supplies while there's schools with an influx of supplies and have extra money to afford ipads and extra things for clubs and so on.

 @95DFSVNfrom North Carolina  answered…3yrs3Y

 @8Y2BBN7 from Ohio  answered…3yrs3Y

Yes, but only if they are held to high standards that all educational institutions should be held to.

 @ISIDEWITHasked…8mos8MO

Do you think schools should be allowed to make a profit, or should education be seen as a public service that isn’t focused on money?

 @9TQDWBX from Indiana  answered…8mos8MO

I didn't answer this one. I don't answer things that I'm not informed enough to have a proper opinion on them. I hope doing this doesn't skew my results...

 @8PRDCFV from Washington  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8PL79PB from Montana  answered…4yrs4Y

No, education should not be privatized, and the focus should be on improving public school and raising teacher wages

 @B57ZRBT from Minnesota  answered…1wk1W

Yes, the best hope for improvement is to try lots and lots of different things. So charter schools are good but only if there are a lot of different kinds of them.

 @B56VPVT from Ohio  answered…1wk1W

I think they could be beneficial, but at the same time, improving public school and increasing teacher wages are also important issues.

 @B54JYWP from Idaho  answered…2wks2W

Yes, but they must meet the same rigorous standards as non-charter public schools, and cannot be religious institutions.

 @B4ZG5WQ from Montana  answered…2wks2W

So long as the private school isn't taxpayer funded and instead funded by the people wanting to send their kids there then sure, I support them.

 @B4Y983W from Connecticut  answered…2wks2W

Yes, but charter schools need to be required to be non-profit, and no funding for public schools should be distributed to charter schools.

 @B4WSZ5V from Florida  answered…2wks2W

No, Its not fair that people have to pay to get into a school and public schools are splitting the cost

 @B4V42QN from Ohio  answered…3wks3W

this is tricky because on the one hand Charter schools or pilot schools are really great options for students who are less traditional, however, the very wealthy are expert level LOOPHOLE finders so there need to be rails in place for potential abuse. There ALREADY VOUCHER PROGRAMS in place for private or parochial schools so im not even sure why a discussion needs to be had. No private school should ever compete for funds against a public school. it is fundamentally unfair.

 @B4QR4FW from Missouri  answered…3wks3W

I believe the program needs to be rebuilt the programs for special students fall because they put some kid who don't need the help but they fail so much that they seem to be one school has issues with keeping kids on track unaware on how slow they are at capturing bad kids you guys can hear a fight about to go on and walk away

 @B4KWHKX from Wisconsin  answered…1mo1MO

Yes, as long as the charter schools are held to the same testing and non-discrimination standards as public schools; Yes, as long as charter schools are NOT religious schools.

 @B4KLCSB from California  answered…1mo1MO

Yes just as long as test scores are good and children that attend these schools go off to be productive members of society

 @B4KFZMR from California  answered…1mo1MO

The federal government should not be giving money to charter schools but they should not abolish them.

 @B4FCJW4Republican from Georgia  answered…1mo1MO

Yes, for the sake of capitalism, weak government, and emotional, mental, and even physical well-being of students. I also support them for the sake of effective learning and teaching.

 @B4D6KHP from Georgia  answered…1mo1MO

No, for the sake of low taxes, low national debt, fair pay, capitalism federalism, weak government, and checks and balances.

 @B44PVZP from Mississippi  answered…2mos2MO

I feel like we need to come to a common ground between the two and I don't really have a choosen side on the matter.

 @B423FNH from North Carolina  answered…2mos2MO

yes, but not at the expense of funding public school, we should focus on improving our public schools and increasing teacher wages

 @B3ZD6MBCommunist from Arizona  answered…2mos2MO

Making education privatized allows for miss-information to be pedaled as fact and for education to be influenced by private interest

 @B3TCVJX from Michigan  answered…2mos2MO

Yes, but additional financial support should only be provided for disadvantaged students or those with IEPs or 504s

 @B3RTRV6  from Georgia  answered…2mos2MO

Yes, but only as long as the taxpayer money is also used to better teacher wages in the state supporting them

 @9L4Z23BIndependent  from Pennsylvania  answered…2mos2MO

Yes, and states should make it easier for more charter, magnet, lab, college prep, and vocational/technical schools to be created in school districts and receive accreditation

 @B3GGFNK from Illinois  answered…2mos2MO

Until public schools start to successfully educate our youth, it is tough to restrict the use of charter schools.

 @B3G23CPDemocrat from Texas  answered…2mos2MO

I don't think there's anything wrong with them besides the fact I think public and private schools are enough. They just aren't really needed and I don't think they're the best option

 @B38RB25 from Nevada  answered…3mos3MO

No, charter schools should be banned, education should not be privatized, and we should focus on improving our public schools and increasing teacher wages instead.

 @B38NKZL from Illinois  answered…3mos3MO

there should be scome school choice but also increase teacher pay in lower and middle income communiites and fund better teacher training, remove all dei, to improve the qualtiy of education

 @B35C8WLfrom Guam  answered…3mos3MO

Should u.s president revolution in based for teachers and studies to focus on more students issued by Australia prime minister improve more support then wages

 @B2ST483Women’s Equality from North Carolina  answered…3mos3MO

No, private institutions do not need government funding. Instead public school teachers should have a pay raise.

 @B2RTWTR from New Jersey  answered…3mos3MO

I support charter schools, especially if they're not-for-profit. However, I also think we should tremendously focus on improving public schools too.

 @B2QQM3M from Illinois  answered…3mos3MO

no. if we took the amount of money we put in private schools and put it in public schools. schools could actallly have fun

 @B2PMTB4 from Florida  answered…3mos3MO

I support charter and magnet schools, funded by vouchers, but only if they are not religious based. The govt should not fund religious based instruction. Some children, either gifted or special needs, perform better with different learning methods such as Montessori or home based instruction. Public schools are not always able to accommodate these special needs children. Magnet schools and career schools will help children with specific talents focus on career specialities from a young age.

 @9L4Z23BIndependent  from Pennsylvania  answered…4mos4MO

#2 Engaged education

No, it is ridiculous that any secondary school which receives public funding and oversight be allowed to choose to reject students for whatever reason they wish

 @9ZYX388 from Texas  answered…5mos5MO

I personally wouldnt send my kid there but i dont have a problem with anybody that attends/attended a charter school

 @9ZYLTT2 from Colorado  answered…5mos5MO

Yes, I do support charter schools, however, public schools need improving regardless and teacher wages should be increased across the board.

 @9ZWDHYT from Pennsylvania  answered…5mos5MO

Yes, but they should be non-profit and held to similar standards as public schools in terms of learning outcomes

 @9ZV8ZBT from Florida  answered…5mos5MO

Yes, and education should be privatized except if autonomous communities decided they wanted to voluntarily educate.

 @9ZSYLKD from Illinois  answered…6mos6MO

They sound good in theory but the main idea is that people should choose what school they should go to.

 @9ZRKKW5 from Arkansas  answered…6mos6MO

I support charter schools, though improving public schools and increasing teacher wages is still important. I also believe the public school system should be reformed.

 @9ZR9HZBfrom Maine  answered…6mos6MO

50/50 charter schools should be allowed however education shouldn't be privatized so we should spend more to increase the services and the quality of education in schools

  @JcawolfsonIndependent  from Pennsylvania  answered…6mos6MO

Yes, I support the concept, but I oppose government funding them, financially supporting them. We must focus upon and prioritize improving our public schools and increasing teacher wages.

 @9ZPWFZZ from California  answered…6mos6MO

Yes, If the charter schools believe there should be a difference in their ways of teaching and as long as it is up to code.

 @9ZND82W from Utah  answered…6mos6MO

No. Stop taking money from our public schools. Fix the public ones. Increase wages. Decrease class sizes. Improve working conditions.

 @9ZN5LPD from Minnesota  answered…6mos6MO

Yes, with significant oversight to make sure they are being run the way they verbalize and do not become feeding grounds for dysfunctional behaviors

 @9XNVT5Q  from Virginia  answered…6mos6MO

Truly, I don't understand the question. However, I do believe that public schools should be ran at the state level. No school should ever be for the purpose of profit, ever.

 @9ZF9XST from California  answered…6mos6MO

Yes, and decrease the amount of public schools to promote lower taxes, smaller government, and growth in the free market

 @9ZDFDSN from California  answered…6mos6MO

Yes, and decrease the amount of public schools for lower taxes, smaller government, and growth in the free market

 @9ZCR4FK from Texas  answered…6mos6MO

Yes but not at the expense of public school funding. Teacher wages should be drastically increased and based on performance and measured standards not tenure. Vouchers should be available for all parents to choose private schools vs. public schools. This will drive free competition between govt and private schools and parents can then choose what is best for their children.

 @9ZC5Q7V  from North Carolina  answered…6mos6MO

We need to focus on improving our public schools, our entire education system should not be privatized, and public schools should not loose funding in turn. A charter school should also be non-profit.

 @9Z96JP3Republican from California  answered…6mos6MO

Yes, and we should decrease the amount of public schools to lower taxes, make a smaller government, and promote growth in the free market

 @9YMVMDD from Ohio  answered…6mos6MO

I saw this in action but did not participate. It may be divisive in this current culture, or it may be more helpful to snowflakes, but either way, I don't like it more because it feels divisive. And secondly because I didn't see it work well. My friend's kid did not fare better, and either way, COVID killed her from an embolism at age 20.

 @9YGCVNL from Utah  answered…6mos6MO

I agree that we should be able to choose where to send their child, and each child should recieve the same amount of funding for charter and public but parents should make up the difference for charter and private schools.

 @9YG5P9W from Utah  answered…6mos6MO

Public schools should be more customizable and have better funding for tailored education such as with charter schools

 @9YBBF7R from Iowa  answered…6mos6MO

Something has to be done. I would rather eliminate teachers unions and fire all but the best. Then significantly increase pay.

 @9Y22DS7No Labels from Maryland  answered…6mos6MO

yes but if public schools had better teachers, higher funding, and higher teacher wages to encourage good teachers to apply and stay, it would be better.

 @9XXJRB2 from Tennessee  answered…6mos6MO

I mean it isnt my cup of tea but if someone wants to enroll their child into it, it aint my say in thing

 @9XQXGS2from Maine  answered…6mos6MO

While having choices in education is valuable, it should never be at the expense of children’s opportunities or the quality of their education, whether they attend public, charter, or private schools. Every child should have access to a strong foundation in essential skills and the chance to thrive. Providing each child with a dedicated fund they can use at the school of their choice—public, charter, or private—ensures fair access. If a family chooses private school, they can use their portion and add to it if needed, promoting equity without compromising options.

 @9XNV482Republican from California  answered…6mos6MO

Yes, and we should decrease the amount of public schools for growth in the free market, lowering taxes, and limiting government

 @9XNKP3N  from Kentucky  answered…6mos6MO

I support local citizens rights to choose the best option for their child to reduce their students individual cost and right to education. Where money follows students, public school regulations and requirements should apply. Ie if services that student needs cannot be provided by the school of choice, funds até forfeited back to the state or county public education system

 @9XNHPYN from Virginia  answered…6mos6MO

Yes, but only as small, experimental schools where districts can test new educational methods or support students with specialized learning needs.

 @9XN5WFP from Ohio  answered…6mos6MO

Charter or private schools tend to teach students better like 1 on 1 and teach how the student wants to learn.

 @9XMMTTM from California  answered…6mos6MO

We should prioritize school choice for the parents to be mindful at what schools are bad and which schools are good.

 @9XHZJ4B from Washington  answered…6mos6MO

Yes in some areas of the country where private schools will thrive. No in other states, where there is a substantial amount of working class

 @9XHVMKG from Ohio  answered…6mos6MO

Yes, privatize all education aside homeschooling which should be heavily encouraged over conventional schooling.

 @MeRepublican from New Jersey  answered…6mos6MO

Quality schools are in short supply. I support any option that leads to better education. Not every charter school meets this standard, but some do.

 @9XHR4PY from Indiana  answered…6mos6MO

Yes but only if they are held to the same standards as public schools, are not-for-profit, and welcome all students.

 @9XFRK6F from New York  answered…6mos6MO

Yes, but not at the expense of public schools and only for special educational reasons, but we also desperately need to improve public schools and raise teachers wages in public schools.

 @9XDGR6C from California  answered…6mos6MO

Yes, and decrease the amount of public schools for growth in the free market, lower taxes, and smaller government

 @9XD25ZL from California  answered…6mos6MO

Yes, and decrease the amount of public schools to help the free market, lower taxes, and make a smaller government

 @9X5B86K from Virginia  answered…6mos6MO

Charter schools are fine as long as they don't deprive funding from public schools and we should improve our schools and education programs and hold public school teachers to stricter standards.
