No

There's no other way to resolve illegal immigration crisis. We need to stop them at the boarder, and detain and deport those who enter the country illegally.

 @B3PYBGWWomen’s Equality from Oklahoma  agreed…6mos6MO

Not all immigrants have committed harsh crimes and they should be able to choose where they live and have peace and freedom and not have to worry every day and every second if it will be the last time that they ever see their loved ones again.

 @B6GXP23Communist from Tennessee  agreed…1mo1MO

they're people just like us, we may be different colors but we are still the same. and the government takes too long to review any request to enter legal. some people have to wait 15 years to be accepted.

 @B6G9NWQ from California  agreed…1mo1MO

They also are not criminals are are just trying to lead a normal life to help provide for their families. According to a report published by the Center for Migration Studies, 69% of all immigrants in the U.S. workforce and 74% of undocumented workers are employed in jobs considered "essential critical infrastructure", compared to 65% of the native-born workforce. This suggests immigrants are more likely to work in jobs that are crucial to the country's function, many of which may be deemed undesirable by others.

Yes, all illegal immigrants should be turned over to federal authorities and deported

 @B6NCX22Independent  from Missouri  disagreed…2wks2W

Not EVERY illegal immigrant should be turned over to the federal authorities and deported because not every illegal immigrant commits crimes or is only here to live life on easy mode. The majority of immigrants are here to work only to have a better life or to provide a better life to their kids, it was only when Biden had an open border policy that we saw illegal immigrants (especially Venezuelans, unfortunately, since I myself am one) commit crimes and it wasn't all of them, it was just a few one of them. In a way I agree with your statement, as someone who has immigrant relatives I am aware of the few bad ones who come to this country and do nothing but stain the name of immigrants in a bad light. However, I believe that it is not because they are immigrants that they act the way they do, but rather are just that way whether they're illegal or not and because of racism people tend to point the blame that they are illegal is the cause of crimes. I definitely agree with the fact that many immigrants come here for a better life and as someone who has seen this dream come true and is now being ripped away is something so sad that no human should have to deal with.

 @B6QMDRL from Ohio  disagreed…2wks2W

"not every illegal immigrant commits crimes" is self contradictory. You broke the nations law (commiting a crime) by improperly enting the country. Correct me if i am wrong.

 @9G9TKYF from Missouri  disagreed…2yrs2Y

Not all immigrants are involved with crime and are only looking for new opportunities to support their families and themselves. Instead, they should provide fair trial and investigation to then consider whether or not they should be deported, and if not, they should get a chance to live in America because they haven't done anything wrong but work hard and hope for a better future.

 @NationalGuy47  from Utah  disagreed…8mos8MO

all illegal are most certainly involved with crime because coming here illegally is a crime, and that is not supporting their families by doing illegal stuff.

 @B4HSPC2 from California  disagreed…5mos5MO

If you live in the US, someone in your bloodline was an immigrant. Who cares how they got there, a person is a person, and should be allowed to live.

  @HelcovichEmireRepublican from Maryland  commented…4mos4MO

Back then, immigration was more controlled. Now, it has gotten out of hand. Green card holders are legally here though not legal citizens yet. It's the ones who don't even apply for a residency we need to deport. Also the ones who don't provide us with any labor or economic contribution need to go.

 @9FQ6Y66 from South Dakota  disagreed…2yrs2Y

1. It is a practical impossibility to deport millions of people.
2. If it were possible, it would be ruinously expensive.
3. If possible and affordable, it would be inhumane to break up families, to disrupt peaceable people who contribute to our society, to return people to countries where they have no/weak ties and may be unable to speak the language or find a job, to deport people who themselves did not break the law because they were brought here as children, to dump people into dangerous circumstances due to crime or living conditions.
4. We have a treaty obligation to permit those seekin…  Read more

 @B6SJBV8 from Texas  agreed…5 days5D

Most of the immigrants that come to this country arrive just to give their family a better life, they pay taxes and contribute to the economy by attending their job, yet several are deported just because they were not born in this land and not due to any crime commited.

 @ISIDEWITHDiscuss this answer...12yrs12Y

No, too many non-violent immigrants are being deported

 @9FQ6Y66 from South Dakota  agreed…2yrs2Y

It is largely our own actions which have created the "border crisis." Above, I noted the ways in which we created conditions in "source" countries which have led to the migrations we're seeing. Also, we haven't properly funded immigration courts so that they can act on cases expeditiously. When someone lives in this country for years waiting for a court date, it should not be surprising that removing them at this point would be hugely disruptive to the deported person, his/her family, and often his/her US community. None of that is the fault of the immigrants.

Why would America want to ban potential citizens from our beloved country? if our country was originally brought up my immigrants why is the country all of a sudden against it?

  @HelcovichEmireRepublican from Maryland  disagreed…4mos4MO

We aren't against immigration, we're against ILLEGAL immigration. Get your facts straight! Immigration can be done legally, but they're doing it ILLEGALLY.

 @B6QMD4Cfrom Maine  agreed…2wks2W

Giving the government too much power has shown that legal immigrants and non-violent illegal immigrants have also been deported with the 2nd Trump administration being an example. Additionally, there is overwhelming evidence that illegal immigrants commit lesser crimes than native born Americans.

 @B6LWCLJ from Illinois  agreed…3wks3W

solo digo que no saquen a las personas que no hacen nada malo que solo vienen a ganarse la vida y no cometen errores.

 @9TNCM45 from California  answered…12mos12MO

Yes

Yes, the punishment for illegal immigration should be execution.

A one week amnesty chance where they will simply be deported to their country of origin first. Should they not take this benevolent opportunity, a few executions to show we're serious should be enough to convince most to leave of their own accord. Exceptions for victims of human trafficking, where deportation is acceptable.

  @Patriot-#1776Constitution from Washington  commented…12mos12MO

Execute human traffickers, gang leaders, and drug cartel members as examples – draw and quarter them and put their heads on spears in public places. If we want to stop crime, we have to be willing to do what it takes to stop crime. We must strike terror into criminals' hearts and show them we mean business

  @HelcovichEmireRepublican from Maryland  commented…4mos4MO

Only if you can prove they've actually killed someone. If not, then death is never justified.

  @HelcovichEmireRepublican from Maryland  commented…4mos4MO

We should build a giant wall on the southern border and put sniper towers on it! Like a prison, think of Mexico as a big prison, we gotta keep them border hoppers from hopping our border.

 @8MCNGGC from Virginia  answered…5yrs5Y

I think that it is only fair for illegal immigrants involved in minor crimes to be referred to authorities.

 @9GZDTYYIndependent from Maryland  answered…2yrs2Y

Yes, local law enforcement should be allowed to transfer immigrants to federal immigration authorities no matter what crime if they were found to be illegal

 @9H4V8MF from Arizona  answered…2yrs2Y

No, only if convicted of a violent crime. Law enforcement should have the ability to report to the federal government but not detain them

 @Brandonnoe84Libertarian  from Colorado  answered…8mos8MO

Yes, illegal immigrants should be handed over to federal authorities and deported but there should be a simple path to citizenship for illegal immigrants with no criminal record.

 @9DYQYY7Libertarian  from Arizona  answered…2yrs2Y

If someone commits a crime which falls under State jurisdiction due to it's nature, then it should be handled by the State. If it is a federal crime, then it should be prosecuted by the federal government. But a persons immigration status, while it can be a federal offense, should have no impact on the fair trial or treatment of the accused simply.

 @AnteaterLaylaRepublicanfrom Texas  asked…2yrs2Y

Would you then suggest a different approach for local law enforcement when they encounter individuals with uncertain immigration status? Or do you believe that the existing systems in place adequately address this issue?

 @8NKN247from Maine  answered…5yrs5Y

Sometimes these immigrants dont have the money to buy themselves essentials and if they really need it they should have a bit of compassion

 @NationalGuy47  from Utah  disagreed…8mos8MO

 @B5SP8JR from Rhode Island  answered…3mos3MO

The illegality of their immigration is another issue than what they are there for, consider where they are in the citizenship process

 @8LQTFM7 from Massachusetts  answered…5yrs5Y

I think "deported" is a strong word and they should be put in jail like everyone else.

 @8LR3WX9Constitution from Texas  answered…5yrs5Y

Crime-committing illegal immigrants should be detained and deported, however, make it official with the entire deported's family on which country they need to choose to stay in for the rest of their citizenship

 @9FK25GX from Connecticut  answered…2yrs2Y

No and abolish the police and ICE

  @9CJ6CB6 from Virginia  commented…2yrs2Y

Okay, ICE I can understand, but destroying the police without drastic social changes we’d be unprepared. Work to make the police force less on the violent side, replace some of them with social workers and reduce qualified immunity. Lord needs to be done, but cold abolition is a really bad idea right now.

 @8W5HJMCWorkers from Florida  answered…4yrs4Y

it depends on the crime if it causes mental problems to the victim in the future then yes if not then they should have mandatory community service but in the case of a violent crime then they should be convicted

 @8LS2JK9 from Connecticut  answered…5yrs5Y

Yes, as they are not citizens here they should be more aware of their actions.

 @8LSMGD6 from Missouri  answered…5yrs5Y

Illegal immigrants should work towards gaining their citizenship. This is a hard process, but in order to live in this country one should have legal citizenship. However, one cannot come into this country illegally and expect to get away with minor crimes. They should be punished justly according to the constitution, this may include deportation. However, it is a definite deportation for larger crimes, or a higher punishment for crimes such as rape or murder.

 @8WWR9F2 from Texas  answered…4yrs4Y

No, only if they are convicted of a violent crime, and too many non-violent immigrants are being deported

 @B6RYMF2 from Florida  answered…1wk1W

They should only be transferred if it is a violent or major crime. There should a "warning " system.

 @B6RPQP5 from Florida  answered…1wk1W

Yes, only after being formally charged and formally convicted of the minor crime, and then only after they have been formally charged with a criminal immigration offense.

 @B6RNKRC from Oregon  answered…1wk1W

No, only if the crime is extremely violent and severe. The lines for this must be very clearly established to not abuse loopholes.

 @B6RMRW4 from Arizona  answered…1wk1W

Only applicable if the crime is committed only for necessary survival, nothing more, nothing less, other than that I agree with this stance.

 @B6RKZJD from Washington  answered…1wk1W

Yes, detaining is an option. But deportation for minor offenses is likely unnecessary. Let a judge decide.

 @B6RKV9F from California  answered…1wk1W

I think they should if violent crimes are committed and no as well because many non violent immigrants are being deported.

 @B6RKT67Women’s Equality from Arizona  answered…1wk1W

Law enforcement should only detain illegal immigrants if they are harming other indaviduals, not if they are "illegal".

 @B6RKPHR from Arizona  answered…1wk1W

If the immigrants are just committing crimes after crimes and trying not to turn their lives around, then yes. If they are turning their lives around, then no.

 @B6RJGTZ from Texas  answered…1wk1W

No, law enforcement is being too subjective and abusing their power (it's turning more into racial profiling out of fear rather than a public safety and society concern as far as illegal citizens)

 @B6RHT4L from California  answered…1wk1W

They should be deported back to their country instead of having the federal immigration authorities deal with it.

 @B6RFTD9 from Illinois  answered…1wk1W

No, although still immigrants I see that immigrants also contribute to the work-force in the USA. and deporting them needlessly can hurt the economic growth of people with jobs. They should be offered at least partial/timely citizen rights, pay taxes and then should be allowed to buy citizenship-passes on their own.

 @B6RFTC8 from Kansas  answered…1wk1W

if it was super minor just give them community service, otherwise if it's worse like stealing or murder just deport them into prison from their country.

 @B6RFQGVRepublican from Pennsylvania  answered…1wk1W

No, only if they are convicted of a violent crime, because too many non-violent immigrants are being deported.

 @B6RF6S7 from Alabama  answered…1wk1W

Im neutral, i would only say don't send them as long as they are non violent and the place they are coming from is extremely dangerous.

 @B6R8FQV from Virginia  answered…1wk1W

It can depend on specific variables, such as the exact crimes and their status in citizenship obtainment.

 @B6R4NFH from Colorado  answered…1wk1W

They should not be allowed because it is against the constitution and completely off limits and against basic human rights. Whether the person is illegal or not, color should not be the reason they are being detained for a minor crime that a white citizen is committing too. There should not be a supremacy and yet our country is steering away from cultural aspects and that is creating unthinkable outcomes and the fear of a humans life.

 @B6R4H7Y from California  answered…1wk1W

Yes, but they should be given fair trial first and if found not guilty then they are to be returned to normal life.

 @B6QYZ72 from California  answered…1wk1W

I believe that they shouldn't be deported. I think illegals should be given green cards while being forced to become a citizen if caught doing a crime.

 @B6QXRJR from Ohio  answered…1wk1W

They should only be turned over if it was a purposeful crime, or they keep accidentally committing crimes and they make little to no effort to learn.

 @B6QVNWX from North Carolina  answered…1wk1W

The illegal immigrants who are nonviolent crime shouldn't be deported because we need them in some areas for work.

 @B6QTYZY from Texas  answered…1wk1W

for non-violent crimes they should be transfered but more for help , I think the immigration system is very corrupt and should be fixed though.

 @B6QPD3TPeace and Freedom from Colorado  answered…2wks2W

why must they go to immigration services that will quite literally treat them as if they are a slave? throw them in a us based jail.

 @B6QJHXHNo Labels from California  answered…2wks2W

It really depends on the crime. All people make mistakes, not just immigrants. Depending on how severe the crime is should determine whether or not they should be transferred to the immigration authorities.

 @B6QFGZM from Texas  answered…2wks2W

although immigration control like ICE and more are a major problem so is immigration itself, I don't think minor offense warrant removing a decent human being trying to find better life from other countries like Mexico, no one has earn citizenship but our founding fathers and family before us so why should we decide who is legal and who is not when the root cause is to find better life

 @B6QDG2W from Montana  answered…2wks2W

they should be tried and given a fair chance if innocent they should be allowed to file for citizenship

 @B6QC8GMDemocrat from Arizona  answered…2wks2W

If they are harming others or our country then yes but if they are contributing to our economy and are tax paying then they should be allowed to stay.

 @B6QC65H from Ohio  answered…2wks2W

I think everyone should be detained for crimes (only if they need to be) but nobody should be deported

 @B6Q9JY4 from Texas  answered…2wks2W

I say no because there are some that are over here working and trying to make a better life for themselves.

 @B6Q7P9YWomen’s Equality from Iowa  answered…2wks2W

I think that they should get deported if they did a crime like stealing,killing or rapping, driving under the influence of alcohol and other. but I don't think they should get detained just because they came illegal to the United States.

 @B6Q7M76Republican from Georgia  answered…2wks2W

It depends on the “minor crime”. It should be something at least somewhat substantial otherwise we open the doors to abuse and discrimination against certain races. But yes, If detained enforcement should be allowed to transfer them.

 @B6Q6CC5 from Michigan  answered…2wks2W

no but if the minor crime is something that cost or could have costed some else's life then i guess.

 @B6Q6BXB from Connecticut  answered…2wks2W

If they committed a crime yes but if they were just discovered to be an illegal immigrant there should be agency’s that help them become a citizen.

 @B6Q69X6 from Ohio  answered…2wks2W

talking bout sum minor crimes I bet they didn't do nothing wrong they are just abusing their power to the fullest and I hate it that's why they wear mask because they know what they do and how they do it is wrong

 @B6PYLSN from Maryland  answered…2wks2W

No, only if they are convicted of a dangerous crime and also to many non-violent immigrants are being deported.

 @B6PXTPF from Montana  answered…2wks2W

 @B6PTCYFIndependent from Missouri  answered…2wks2W

 @B6PP3GG from Montana  answered…2wks2W

 @B6PN42X from Kansas  answered…2wks2W

If we find an illegal immigrate with a very illegitimate background yes, otherwise we should direct them to proper resources

 @B6PMZZ5 from Kansas  answered…2wks2W

for bigger crimes like murder, arsan, and major robbery, but not when it involves food or basic medication. the smaller crimes should only punish them minorly.

 @B6PMB2SGreen from Colorado  answered…2wks2W

It would depend on the crime they did because I think mostly when they get a crime it because they cross the boarder

 @B6PL3QD from Missouri  answered…2wks2W

If an illegal immigrant commits a crime in the United States, they should be punished accordingly and given a chance to be granted citizenship.

 @B6PH96H from California  answered…2wks2W

I think if they are coming here illegally and already trying to cause problems in a country they aren't from they should definitely get some type of punishment but I feel like deporting is a big step

 @B6PG6R3America from Florida  answered…2wks2W

I'd say it depends, but really, no one should be here illegally at all. It's unfair to those who wait 10-20 years.

 @B6PF7C5Republican from Missouri  answered…2wks2W

If the immigrant has resided in the United States for 2 years or more they should be allowed to stay without penalty. If they commit a crime they should be transferred back to the place they came from.

 @B6PF3Q4Peace and Freedom from Wisconsin  answered…2wks2W

Yes, only if a background check is done. If the immigrant(s) are clean, then they may freely enter the state;s if they contain any drug, human trafficking, or weapon-related charges, then they must be detained, transferred to federal immigration authorities, and then deported

 @B6PCL5G from Texas  answered…2wks2W

It really is at the officer's discretion, and if the crime results in physical or mental harm to the victim, then they should be turned over to ICE, but after due process.

 @B6PCH5W from Idaho  answered…2wks2W

Only if the immigrant has the right to due process and after their hearing determined that the crime commited is offensive enough to take action such as federal immigration authorites then, it would be just to do so. But given that most immigrants have not had access to the right of due process this question does not mention those who were wrongfully transfered to federal authorites just becasue of the fact they are illegal.

 @B6P8X9J from Wyoming  answered…2wks2W

Yes if they decide to come here and break the rules then they should face the consequences; however, if they are law abiding then they should not be treated as criminals

 @B6P69GT from South Carolina  answered…2wks2W

No, immigrants should be given the option to be given aid for the process of receiving citizenship if they wish to refuse said aid than humane deportation is the best route.
