No

 @9F83YRN from Illinois  disagreed…2yrs2Y

The F-35 is the most advanced stealth fighter apart from the F-22 and must stay in production to maintain a technological edge against our enemies

 @ISIDEWITHDiscuss this answer...8yrs8Y

Yes

 @9FN9KM8 from Washington  disagreed…2yrs2Y

IF we don't have superiority in th military then others would, and we would be forced out as a world leader.

 @7PTCG38Democrat from Wisconsin  answered…2yrs2Y

No, the program is too far into production and service to cancel, but revise procurement procedures to avoid out of control and mismanaged costs with future military weapons programs

 @9RXTZK8 from Arizona  answered…9mos9MO

yes. i’m sure the military can find some other non functional military equipment to squander our taxes on.

 @9TDWP3P from Ohio  disagreed…8mos8MO

#1 Informed F-35

Okay Pierre Sprey, go commit friendly fire with the a-10 again and come back with a real answer

 @UK-QUEENIESSSfrom Maine  commented…7mos7MO

 @9CD7JJ3 from Virginia  answered…2yrs2Y

Yes but first fund development of a better replacement aircraft and only discontinue when the new planes are ready.

 @9PT6LY3Democrat from North Carolina  answered…11mos11MO

No, since cancellation would cost more than finishing at this point, but we should find ways to cut production costs and take our deficit into account in the future

 @9L4Z23BIndependent  from Pennsylvania  answered…1yr1Y

No, but all government contracts currently active and all future contracts should be reviewed all ensure there is no price gouging or no cost overruns

 @9FNPCYQ from Illinois  answered…2yrs2Y

yes, assuming the money saved is used on something to better U.S citizen's lives

 @9THSWNG from Colorado  answered…8mos8MO

i dont even know what that is it is probably a fighter jet so it does not really matter to me so they can continue or stop

 @9S2PDWW from Virginia  answered…9mos9MO

No, the United States should increase production on the F3 5 fighter, several fold and it has been doing.

 @8XLR4JXDemocrat  from North Carolina  answered…2yrs2Y

 @9VKRC4Z from California  answered…7mos7MO

Decrease funding to weapons systems that have a primary function that won’t be regularly used. IE air to air (dog fighting) vs air to ground support.

 @97NWKHH from Oregon  answered…2yrs2Y

No, the F-35 is the current pinnacle of stealth fighter technology. They are important to the national defense.

 @8KG49V2Socialist from Michigan  answered…5yrs5Y

Yes, they should put that money towards social and environmental causes instead

 @8PTM2Y6 from Massachusetts  answered…4yrs4Y

I think you need to do anything and everything to keep this country safe any F 35 fighter will do just that although it’s not worth how much they are seeking it out to be and I believe we should reduce the cost drastically before continuing. Get the price of it down first then I’m ok with it.

 @98PM9LCAmerican Solidarity from Kansas  answered…2yrs2Y

Yes, but continue to operate and provide upgrades for the existing F35 fleet.

 @98HG28L from Virginia  answered…2yrs2Y

 @B2TDFYSDemocrat  from California  answered…1wk1W

Cancel part of the delivery, and focus on developing more effective and less costly 6th generation fighter jets.

 @B54BY5Z from New Mexico  answered…2wks2W

Yes; drones and space-based vehicles are more economically effective and strategically important developments in the 21st century.

 @B4X5LJQ from Michigan  answered…2wks2W

thee shouldn't outright cancel it but they should limit the production because ti costs so much money to produce one

 @B4MJY36 from Virginia  answered…4wks4W

Yes, until the national debt is lowered, then we can continue. It's also important to try to lower the costs.

 @9ZTQW4V  from Texas  answered…1mo1MO

The U.S. should cap production of the F-35 at a sustainable number, rigorously audit its costs and performance, and shift future investments toward more adaptable, cost-effective technologies, including unmanned systems and next-generation defense priorities.

 @B4JLSDT from Texas  answered…1mo1MO

i think that the government could try and find a less expensive way to produce the F-35 because the money could be going to better things

 @B4HSCZM from Virginia  answered…1mo1MO

No, but delay its progress until the deficit is drastically reduced and the Pentagon can effectively account for how it is spending the money in its budget.

 @B4HDWRK from Connecticut  answered…1mo1MO

No, the F-35 fighter will still be used for many more years but production should decrease as we approch 2070

 @B4CSJFP from Florida  answered…1mo1MO

No, the government should not cancel production of the F-35 fighter unless it becomes to much money to maintain production but continue as long as possible to maintain the edge over foreign adversaries.

 @B49M8WV from Illinois  answered…1mo1MO

We should focus on the F22 over the F35 because the F22 is the best air to air combat fighter in history.

 @B47GCDQ from New Jersey  answered…2mos2MO

There are a few issues that steam from the cancellion of the production of a government weapon. Primmarly jobs of the people who build these weapons. I feel that if a country or even if the US needs them buys them, let them continue to be produced. However, if there is no need for them, they don't need to be produced, or the factories created these planes can be repurposed for other uses besides military aircraft production.

 @B46JZBF from California  answered…2mos2MO

instead of canceling the production they should only produce a few amount so they don't have to spend as much.

 @B3VGV2T  from California  answered…2mos2MO

Given the F-35's advanced capabilities, strong bipartisan support, and international adoption, canceling production is unlikely and analysts suggest it's here to stay. While there are ongoing debates about the program's cost and potential issues, the F-35 is considered a crucial asset for national defense and deterrence.

 @B3VJMNM from Colorado  answered…2mos2MO

No, but it should limit the costs going forward and prove its necessity to avoid continuing the global arms race

 @B39XSV7 from Pennsylvania  answered…2mos2MO

The f-35 is a tremendous aircraft and a genius invention. It should not be removed unless a better one is created.

 @B2Z4T4M from California  answered…3mos3MO

? Military spending on equipment needs to be reviewed and private companies scrutinized for waste of taxpayer dollars.

 @B2YDGVC from California  answered…3mos3MO

Lower the amount of investment / money put into military funding / weapons, but not completely removing it.

 @B2T2X88 from Texas  answered…3mos3MO

I don't see why having those fighter jets are necessary because we aren't in an active war, however I would want our country to have protection if we ever were in that situation.

 @B2NNGTC  from Florida  answered…3mos3MO

No, instead of trying to create an entirely new plane system they should instead utilize its newer features and apply them to existing planes.

 @B2HV2M9 from Utah  answered…4mos4MO

The government should levy the budget accordingly, potentially stop using some other things to implement the f-35

 @B2HTR52 from California  answered…4mos4MO

Absolutely not, we should expand our military and assert our sovereignty as much as possible. Peace through strength is the motto.

 @B2G83G2 from Illinois  answered…4mos4MO

I need more information on the performance of the F-35 fighter. I may be a big Macross fan, but I'm not knowledgeable about real-life fighter jets.

 @B2F6SXX from Nevada  answered…4mos4MO

No, the F-35 has been proven to be an effective fighter jet, and steps should be made to sell its variants to our allies as well as improve upon the design to account for the ever changing military landscape.

 @B2DHMSZSocialist from Kentucky  answered…4mos4MO

yes, with the exception of export reasons, because in a peer to peer conflict fighter jets will be outdated in 10-15 years.

 @B295HKM from California  answered…4mos4MO

Continue production of the F-35B V/STOL and continue improving the software, but the F-22 Raptor is a far better fighter.

 @B24ZD62 from Utah  answered…5mos5MO

Keep the ones we have going, they seem cool, but spend our money on better things instead of continuing to make them.

 @B24D5LP from Utah  answered…5mos5MO

Maybe having planes of this type is necessary but we should check to see if we actually need as many as are ordered. We should be checking & double checking our spending.

 @B23BWDXNo Labels from California  answered…5mos5MO

Only if it does not interfere with any other savings or if it is necessary for our current situation

 @9ZRSSZZRepublican from Arizona  answered…6mos6MO

No, the f35 program needs to be evaluated, and new orders need to be realistic to the current needs. The current air fleet needs priority when it comes to spending.

 @9ZMVY34 from North Carolina  answered…6mos6MO

I believe we shouldn't cancel production of the F-35 fighter but slow down production as to save more money from our government spending.

 @9ZH62HB from Nevada  answered…6mos6MO

I think no, but we should lower the production so it won't cost 1.5 trillion after mass producing the F-35

 @9ZH54L9Democrat from Arkansas  answered…6mos6MO

We shouldn't cancel the production of the F-35 fighter however we should limit the amount that is being produced.

 @9ZH4JD9 from Arkansas  answered…6mos6MO

I don't think that production should continue while F-35s are not needed. If we are at relative natural or peaceful status, there is no need for more fighter jets.

 @9YJLP8L from California  answered…6mos6MO

While I'm not in the military, but I know for a fact F35 is one of the aircraft we still have in service, mostly used by our Navy personnel. I do believe production should maybe ceased, but the still available aircraft can continue to be maintained and serviced.

 @9Y28WM8 from Virginia  answered…6mos6MO

If the production has already begun then revise the design so it's at a more reasonable cost, or change the amount of planes that will be produced.

 @9XZLWTP from Arizona  answered…6mos6MO

Not necessarily cancel their production, but decrease it. AS I think U.S. taxpayer money should be more spent towards infrastructure and society.

 @9XNYPCS from North Carolina  answered…6mos6MO

No, since cancellation would now cost more than finishing, but there should be a demand to find ways to cut production costs on future projects.

 @9X8VN6Z from Washington  answered…6mos6MO

Determine if it is truly required. If we already are ahead on air superiority without it then yes cancel. If this will give us the edge then continue production.

 @9WZYQVS from Texas  answered…6mos6MO

We can keep the F-35, but could we cut the spending in half at least? Or maybe a quarter? We still have our national debt to pay off and goals we haven't reached.

 @9WZXH4J from Maryland  answered…6mos6MO

I believe they should be used but not at the same time, they should be used when NEEDED not when they want.

 @9WY3V59 from California  answered…6mos6MO

Should thoroughly investigate alternatives and hold vendors to cost constraints and liable for cost overruns and missed schedule

 @9WV884F from Indiana  answered…7mos7MO

Only if it's ethically necessary to do so both financially and if we don't necessary need F-35's. If we do need those types of jets, then maybe not make 2,457 of them and maybe instead start at 500-1,000.

 @9WKXNGW from Pennsylvania  answered…7mos7MO

I don't have enough information on this attack plane to have a stance. While I'd like there to be less weapons and war, getting rid of them would only make us more susceptible to being taken advantage of--getting rid of them could do the opposite of the expected outcome.

 @9WKXCQ4 from Wisconsin  answered…7mos7MO

I believe yes and no, because it sounds like it will help out military, but it can't be out of control.

 @9WKGDXX from Missouri  answered…7mos7MO

I believe the government should take that same investment and create their own munitions and combat production. Cutting out the irresponsible funding of profiteering of the private sector, and reason for a drive for war, and again invest that money in American ingenuity and help boost educational options for citizens.

 @9WHTPBNDemocrat from North Carolina  answered…7mos7MO

No, since cancellation now would cost more than finishing, but more should be done to cut production costs on future projects.

 @9W8N7TP from Illinois  answered…7mos7MO

No, but they should only have very high ranking be able to use them, and produce less of them(make less available) also only use them in necessary situations

 @9VXW3TR from California  answered…7mos7MO

I believe we should continue to add to the military fleet of more advanced aircraft. But should also continue to use older production aircraft until they are unable to fly any longer and not grounding all older models. Slowly adding more advanced aircraft to save funding.

 @9VRCKMV from North Carolina  answered…7mos7MO

The program is not a bad idea, but the cost is absolutely ridiculous. Keep the idea. Spend less money on it.

 @9VQLQQV from Maryland  answered…7mos7MO

It depends because I do not want any spark of war if other people want their hands on it for their own benefits.

 @9VNPRGXDemocrat from Illinois  answered…7mos7MO

If it significantly adds to the debt and hampers other programs, yes. If not, it is fine for the time being.

 @9VP24H9 from Arkansas  answered…7mos7MO

It is important to make sure that America has F-35 fighters for military purposes so they should be produced but the country doesn't need to continue mass producing them at high rates when there are more important thing to be focusing on the production of.

 @9V785GY from Washington  answered…7mos7MO

No, because it's already so far in production. I do feel that the production should be reduced a bit so that it doesn't exceed that estimated $1.5 trillion.

 @9V2HLDJ  from Texas  answered…8mos8MO

I do not have enough knowledge over our military's aerial capabilities compared to other countries to make a decision.

 @9TYZYKX from California  answered…8mos8MO

No. Unnecessarily expensive. Turn toward domestic spending to increase qol and improve american economy.

  @Jeff-BarlettIndependent from California  answered…8mos8MO

Yes, because The United States already has the strongest military in the world, and the F-35 is very costly to make compared to other military aircraft.

 @9TCHNYT from Georgia  answered…8mos8MO

Yes, and they need to continue to develop the military to the highest level possible. Peace through Strength

 @9TCHX55Libertarian from Ohio  answered…8mos8MO

No, but require future weapons research be paid by the corporations with possible reimbursement after delivery.

 @9T9VCH9 from New York  answered…8mos8MO

I say no as they will be greatly needed should situations arise, but perhaps they can also be used in such a way as to benefit the us people as well.

 @9SY64T5 from Iowa  answered…8mos8MO

No, but the government should decrease cost if possible, and it shouldn't be used as a nuclear weapon.

 @9RRP727Democrat from Colorado  answered…9mos9MO

No, but we should consider extending the life expectancy of the F-35 if we are spending so much money on them.

 @9RN7MN3 from Florida  answered…10mos10MO

Maybe not cancel production, but drastically reduce the budget and support for the production of the F-35

 @9RLYQ82 from Michigan  answered…10mos10MO

I think the program was a great idea but we’ve spent way too much on it. Ultimately we should try making a new fighter jet/ upgrade current models.

 @9RJBQ9K  from New York  answered…10mos10MO

It depends on how old our current planes are, how they line up with other country's fleets, and why it would cost that much - are we getting good value for the cost?

 @9RJB5TDLibertarian from Texas  answered…10mos10MO

No, but the government should enact a zero dollar budgeting system to keep large corporations in check from increasing costs unnecessarily

 @9RHP63D from South Carolina  answered…10mos10MO

The F-35 embodies superior capabilities to ID and eliminate threats and should be retired only when superior technology is available.

 @9RFM9RF from Indiana  answered…10mos10MO

No, but reduce the number of them to maximize their utility while also lowering the costs in a major investment

 @9RDHKZW from New Jersey  answered…10mos10MO

No, but they should ramp down production, making fewer and making more cost effective jets in the future

 @9RD8M5C from New York  answered…10mos10MO

We should defer to Department of Defense procurement personnel in connection with quantity required.

 @9RD2MT7 from South Carolina  answered…10mos10MO

They should keep production of it in counties that support an administration that refrains from the use of military force and speaks of this countries desire for peace.
