Yes

 @9FP4ZBXWorkers  from California  agreed…2yrs2Y

It is getting harder to find parts, and other places are modernizing their jets while we are using 50 year old jets.

 @9FPR5VBRepublican  from Virginia  disagreed…2yrs2Y

The president has plenty of security and before we expand that, we must grapple with our national deficit. As long as it is cheaper to replace parts, we should not replace the entire plane.

 @ISIDEWITHDiscuss this answer...8yrs8Y

No, not until the cost ($4B) is dramatically reduced

 @9FP4ZBXWorkers  from California  disagreed…2yrs2Y

The need to build new fighter jets, As the are becoming over 50 years old and oarts are getting hard to find.

 @9FPVPR5 from Oklahoma  agreed…2yrs2Y

Air Force One needs to be upgraded since a 50 year old technology may seem too old to function to meet the sophistication of modern technology.

 @9FPVPR5 from Oklahoma  agreed…2yrs2Y

I think with the advancement in technology, 50 years old jets needs to be modernized to be effective and efficient to meet the sophistications of the global modern developments.

 @ISIDEWITHDiscuss this answer...8yrs8Y

No, the current fleet is sufficient

 @9FYPS5XTranshumanist from Georgia  disagreed…2yrs2Y

There is always room for improvement. No creation by man is perfect, and we must consistently innovate and advance what we have.

 @8D7X8VBNew Liberty from Pennsylvania  answered…5yrs5Y

Yes, after a cost analysis that reveals it is less costly to produce new planes than maintaining the old planes.

  @Ace-ByrdNo Labels from Iowa  answered…7mos7MO

I don't support the military in any use except for defense of this country and those that need it, like Ukraine or Palestine, where innocent civilians are being killed.

#8 Engaged Domestic Policy #2 Expert Air Force One

Why would the military need to go into Palestine? They are the ones that attacked Israel! And yes, I know the legacy media portrays Israel as the bad guys, but honestly. Everyone in that region has been trying to kill them since Abraham.

 @8M5WK9YIndependent from Massachusetts  answered…5yrs5Y

Not with Boeing.

#8 Engaged Domestic Policy #2 Expert Air Force One

There is nothing wrong with the Queen of the Skies. And your argument against Boeing? Sierra Nevada would be the ones retrofitting the 747.

 @B3GDS3V from Arkansas  answered…2mos2MO

We should look to instead rent out planes from companies, this will increase competition between those types of companies and the competition will make the companies want to build better planes. Planes used will be strictly looked over as to prevent intentional accidents and harms

 @9WB26PP from Georgia  answered…7mos7MO

Yes, as long as we are cost efficient and can ensure Air Force One is significantly better than the previous one so we won't be wasting money.

 @9KH9SVJDemocrat from California  answered…1yr1Y

Yes, when we are able to build aircraft that run on renewable energy sources, such as electric engines.

  @@1876-Elbert from Colorado  commented…6mos6MO

#8 Engaged Domestic Policy #2 Expert Air Force One

The best electric aircraft engines can only power something the size of a Cessna 152 for an hour. President's going to need a new bird before engines are that advanced.

 @8LLL7DT from Connecticut  answered…5yrs5Y

I think they should upgrade it for the highest technology when it comes out, but I don't think they should spend money on pointless things for it, when there are many other things that need financial support in the US.

 @8VJZD8Y from Georgia  answered…4yrs4Y

Yes, but the $4 billion should come out of the military budget. Citizens should not have to pay the cost or the full cost of an aircraft that is not benefiting the people.

 @8W467D2 from Florida  answered…4yrs4Y

Yes, it is very old and the president needs a safe place to fly and it probably costs more money to maintain it then to get a new one.

 @B4B5FVS from Utah  answered…1mo1MO

Only if its to serve a crucial purpose (e.g countering a major rival like China, defense). Otherwise, this is just a waste of money.

 @B3QWXWS from North Carolina  answered…2mos2MO

The department of defense would like to hire me as a consultant to make this determination I would be happy to do so. They should be determined by the subject matter experts on Air Force One.

 @B3MPWTW  from Florida  answered…2mos2MO

Yes, as long as the upgrade is for the use of a clean and functional craft to replace, repair, or sanitize an otherwise non-acceptable craft.

 @B3HF4VR from New York  answered…2mos2MO

Yes, but do not use Boeing, they been found to undermine safety procedures to gain profit in recent years and cannot be trusted to implement this in a cognitive capacity.

 @B2XGB6S from Illinois  answered…3mos3MO

Yes, only if it is required to keep the President and his staff save, and is heavily scrutinized on the price

 @B2GVMRF from Indiana  answered…4mos4MO

Yes, but upgrading doesn't necessarily mean buying a new fleet. Those planes are taken care of better than most new ones.

 @B2BVXTGRepublican from Indiana  answered…4mos4MO

Yes, The cost is large but the plane will last a very long time so taxpayers won't have to worry about spending their money on another one anytime soon.

 @B2633BQ from Oregon  answered…5mos5MO

Yes they should soon, but I feel right now 4 billion is too much and would just add to the national debt for something that really isn't a necessity. But yes they should soon.

 @9ZXLZWDRepublican from Georgia  answered…5mos5MO

I'm all for increasing military power, but I could care less about the plane that is Air Force One, it doesn't matter with that one plane, but our fighting fleet can absolutely have upgrades.

 @9ZMB886 from Pennsylvania  answered…6mos6MO

Yes, but reduce the cost of upgrades by letting private companies bid and none of the companies can have ties with the government

 @9JK5R7T from Colorado  answered…1yr1Y

No because the president/ government has spent to much money in the Air Force or the military so that money can go to other things to help grow the country

 @9JHC36G from Texas  answered…1yr1Y

The planes should be upgraded for safety, but the upgrades should budgeted better than the usual out of control government spending.

 @9JC633B from Florida  answered…1yr1Y

Air Force one is a technological marvel, it should be kept up to the highest standard, it should only be upgraded if it is in serious need of overhaul. The taxpayers have not been receiving a good return on investment with federal government expenditures the last 30 years.

 @9JB66ZQ from Indiana  answered…1yr1Y

Yes and no. Cut down on spending and focus on what we have now rather than upping the already $4B+ budget.

 @9J9DT68 from Virgin Islands  answered…1yr1Y

Why not just build one and buy another once spending has leveled out?

I look at it like myself. I’m not going to buy two cars if I can barely afford one. Better spending habits is definitely needed, but 50 years is much too old to be transporting our leader.

 @9J79XYY from Texas  answered…1yr1Y

Yes as long as there are worth while upgrades to the plane then there should always be new planes coming in. Like every five years or so. This is protecting the most important person in the united states. And no I'm not talking about Beyonce.

 @Breaker802  from Washington  answered…1yr1Y

While I belevie that 4 billion dollars is a high price tag, the president of the country needs to get around and his current mode of transportation is falling apart.

 @9HDQDZN from Utah  answered…1yr1Y

Yes, but only to reasonably accommodate the necessary technological and protective upgrades so it is not outdated

 @9HCWYKB  from Missouri  answered…1yr1Y

How about don't wait until the planes are ancient and replacement parts are harder to find to decide to upgrade them. Each year set aside a certain amount of money for military upgrades that way the funds are there when you need them. Perhaps connect upgrades to Airforce One with other military upgrades since the president's fleet tends to go to dangerous parts of the world. Make the plane safe and keep it on the same technological level as other military transportation.

 @9HBWMVJLibertariananswered…1yr1Y

Yes, and give it high tech experimental defense weaponry in the event of an East Coast invasion making Washington DC unsafe for the president.

 @9H95XYW from New York  answered…1yr1Y

Air Force one should be up to date but not the biggest priority when the country is in a big amount of debt

 @9H3DVC7Republican from Utah  answered…1yr1Y

If our national security officials believe it is necessary to upgrade air force one, then I support it. I think we should attempt to lower the cost though

 @9GZVGMM from California  answered…1yr1Y

Yes, Add Three Boeing C-40 Planes To The Fleet For "Air Force Three" To House The Speaker Of The House, Senate Majority Leader, And Supreme Court Justices

 @5NNVJRV from Illinois  answered…1yr1Y

No, it is financially and environmentally irresponsible for the government to have aircraft for private transportation.

 @9GTL5RT from Florida  answered…2yrs2Y

Yes, the safety of the president cannot be guaranteed when flying old vehicles

 @9FJWX8PRepublican from New York  answered…2yrs2Y

Yes, but not at the expense of newly acquired taxpayer funds as the military budget should cover at least half of the defensive vehicles' upgrades.

 @9D469KJ  from Florida  answered…2yrs2Y

I believe funding in the military could first be put to better use such as increased pay, better housing, improving the bases as well as the food served to soldiers.

 @8YQS8YK from Tennessee  answered…3yrs3Y

No, and abolish the military entirely replacing it with a decentralized militia elected by the people.

 @8KFQVGT from California  answered…5yrs5Y

 @8J9TNJH from Illinois  answered…5yrs5Y

No, it doesn't matter. It's just a fleet of planes, this should not be a matter of debate.

 @8GPKF93 from California  answered…5yrs5Y

Due to the age of the planes, I'd say yes but costs should be lower if possible.

 @8GL5YXS from Maryland  answered…5yrs5Y

Alternatives should be investigated in this digital age to reduce use of air force one and determine if a smaller option would meet the needs then.

 @8G3T2X5 from Utah  answered…5yrs5Y

 @9ZDHGHP from Tennessee  answered…6mos6MO

Engage with culling unnecessary bureaucracy and regulations that makes things like this so expensive, then we can engage with upgrades

 @9YFVL83 from Colorado  answered…6mos6MO

God no! Spending money & resources should be invested in important matters that affect more than a handful of entitled people. The Executive branch is NOT a monarchy. They should be forced to endure conditions similar to Coach like the rest of us working poor.
