Veterans should have the same level of coverage as the President, Vice President and top Government officials

 @9S2PG43 from Virginia  answered…1yr1Y

There should be more privatization of veterans healthcare In order to Improve efficiency and to ensure that all veterans receive care on time. But there must be a well drawn line between Privatization and public. If something becomes completely privatized, then it is liable to become a for profit organization, which could hurt veterans who Struggle financially typically. But it is also important that if it is completely public, then it is liable in efficiency, and it is liable to budget cuts from the federal government. The federal government should continuously fund veterans affairs healthcare systems, but they should be privately managed with experienced personnel who are all of military Backgrounds.

 @9Q4B6MH from North Carolina  answered…1yr1Y

Less, the VA should be assimilated into a broader single-payer system to ensure universal coverage and access

 @9DXJ2QG from Georgia  answered…2yrs2Y

 @8NMTXR9Republican from Missouri  answered…5yrs5Y

I think veterans' should get lowered or free healthcare just because of what they did for our county.

 @sophlaneProgressive  from California  disagreed…5yrs5Y

Why not make healthcare free for all Americans and not just veterans? See I get your reasoning for why they should get free healthcare, but every single working American, rich or poor, help create this country together. If free universal healthcare was implemented, this would not have to be a large problem.

 @8S37SCX from Colorado  answered…4yrs4Y

 @7PTCG38Democrat from Wisconsin  answered…3yrs3Y

Less and More, veterans should be fully covered to see any doctor of their choice both within the VA healthcare system or in private practice

 @8YSMXC4 from Pennsylvania  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8H6V2PM from Virginia  answered…5yrs5Y

This question needs to be reworded. Not all Veterans receive healthcare from the VA. Many that are not fully disabled or retired go on to other jobs which give them the opportunity to use other healthcare options. Also, there had been some changes to Vets being allowed to choose their primary care doctor. Is this question regarding sole reliance on VA health benefits?

 @97C29PT from Wisconsin  answered…3yrs3Y

 @B6R6GMV from Louisiana  answered…5 days5D

Less, increase funding and expand locations, but also allow veterans to see any doctor of their choice, especially those in rural areas.

 @B6QS8HN from Florida  answered…5 days5D

Privatization of Healthcare is not good, rather exploiting their role as Veterans whilst the Rest of the Country's Healthcare is inputted into being Public.

 @B6NLCBJ from California  answered…1wk1W

More to help release the deficit, but also put a lot of regulations and restrictions on it to make it where veterans can get the best of the best that they can get and they have to actually help them and all that and not screw them over

 @B6NGVQG  from Michigan  answered…2wks2W

Less, but distance-eligible Veterans should be able to see Community Providers under VA Community Care.

 @B6N7ZSM from Ohio  answered…2wks2W

Less privatization to avoid medical companies taking advantage of low-income veterans, however, veterans should be permitted to see any doctor of their choice.

 @B6MRKT3 from Texas  answered…2wks2W

All veterans should receive a health care card and be able to present it anywhere and receive full healthcare at no cost to the veteran at all.

 @B6J4DXT from West Virginia  answered…3wks3W

A bit more, but only temporarily, until we figure out how to fund veterans' health services to the level they need to be. Some privatization would be ok, because it would give a lot of veterans the healthcare they don't have currently. But not a ton, because if we let it become too privatized, then veterans' healthcare would become like national healthcare, aka profit-driven most of the time.

 @B6HVXXN from California  answered…3wks3W

More but not a very much amount and how there should be oversight and regulations to help stop corruption all that and how try to find the best doctors for these veterans and how they will sacrifice a lot of money to find the best for these heroes

 @B6HS8DGRepublican from California  answered…3wks3W

I feel like we should fix the system to make it. Weather could be private and national of a sharing of both and to make the veterans have the best doctor they can have.

 @B59CWQJCommunist from Wisconsin  answered…4mos4MO

Less, privatization routinely results in poor outcomes for all involved except for those profiting from it.

 @B52NRW4 from Oklahoma  answered…4mos4MO

Keep the VA as a retirement home. Veterans should also be allowed to receive care from current armed forces medical centers.

 @B4YGC8PSocialist from Texas  answered…4mos4MO

There should be no private healthcare industry whatsoever and veterans and citizens alike should be offered subsidized healthcare freely.

 @B4SK4YGProgressive from California  answered…5mos5MO

The VA is necessary because the healthcare professionals are trained on the specific needs faced by veteran patient populations including mental health such as PTSD and suicidal ideation as well as combat related injuries including chemical warfare exposure. Patients should allowed to seek and use other health services, but it does not have to come from the VA budget

 @B4SDWHG from Texas  answered…5mos5MO

Abolish special treatment for veterans to promote universal basic healthcare to include all aspects that veterans may face.

 @B4SB5W7Republican from New Jersey  answered…5mos5MO

Less, and we should increase funding to the current system but allow veterans to see doctors of their choice

 @B4NYRYB from Arkansas  answered…5mos5MO

More, but instead create an independent body to handle Veterans healthcare as different from other areas of healthcare.

 @B3SSJNF  from Illinois  answered…5mos5MO

less and simplify the claims process and rehire the people trump fired to make sure veterans get proper care

 @4KBRM54 answered…5mos5MO

Change the system to provide better and more comprehensive healthcare for veterans. They have served our country, the least we could do is care for them.

 @B4DV9QQ from Texas  answered…5mos5MO

More, if the status quo with general healthcare continues. Less, if there is broader change in the industry.

 @B4D6KHP from Georgia  answered…5mos5MO

There should be more privatization of veterans' healthcare for the sake of federalism, capitalism, checks and balances, low taxes, weak government, and low national debt.

 @B4CFVS5Republican from Georgia  answered…5mos5MO

More, for the sake of low taxes, low national debt, capitalism, federalism, checks and balances, and weak government.

 @B4B5FVS from Utah  answered…5mos5MO

Less, veterans should be covered by my aforementioned single-payer healthcare system. Veterans should also get some sense of priority for coverage.

 @9L4Z23BIndependent  from Pennsylvania  answered…5mos5MO

VA Hospitals and overall care should drastically improve, but at the end of the day a veteran should be able to visit any doctor of their choice and be covered by TRICARE

 @B49MRF5  from Tennessee  answered…5mos5MO

Not privatization; make it part of socialized health care—and let the veterans choose their health care providers.

 @B47SWNS from North Carolina  answered…5mos5MO

There should be a balance between privatization and public healthcare, ensuring veterans receive the best care while maintaining oversight.

 @B3VGV2T  from California  answered…6mos6MO

The debate around privatizing veterans healthcare is complex, with arguments for and against increased reliance on the private sector. While some suggest that private care can offer efficiency and access, others argue that the VA's integrated system provides better, coordinated care for veterans with complex needs.
Arguments for More Privatization:
Increased Access and Choice:
Some argue that expanding private sector options would give veterans more choices and potentially shorter wait times for certain specialized treatments, particularly in areas where VA facilities are limited.

I feel like an ore exceeded with the funding they get, but at the same time, not forget the people who gave their life for this country.

 @B3G98XT  from Virginia  answered…6mos6MO

There should be 0 privatization of Veteran’s care. They served the public; we should spend more on them and less on defense.

 @B38VJVQ from California  answered…6mos6MO

I support funding the current system to expand access to veterans to seek treatment with a doctor of their choice

 @B33HYSFProgressive  from Louisiana  answered…7mos7MO

Less, we should increase / reallocate funding to improve the current system while letting veterans have choice over their medical providers

 @B2W7KPW from Indiana  answered…7mos7MO

Only veterans who sustain injuries, whether psychological or physical, should be eligible for veteran-based health programs

 @B2RVGJ8 from New York  answered…7mos7MO

Everyone should be able to receive the healthcare they need. There should be organizations for the specific care of veterans because they will have health problems that other companies may not be able to handle well.

 @B2Q33GL from Idaho  answered…7mos7MO

the VA is notorious for its failiure to serve its veterans, either expand their ability to see medical professionals or fund upgrades with checks and balances.

 @B2GSYGB from Missouri  answered…8mos8MO

The VA should pursue more partnerships with private providers to increase efficiency and quality of care for veterans

 @B2GKJQH from Tennessee  answered…8mos8MO

retired vetrans and people that are still serving should get payed pretty well should be one of our top priorites

 @B289QYZ from Tennessee  answered…8mos8MO

Less. We should not continue paying for the healthcare of veterans who never saw combat. They should be carried for the amount of time they served in the military after discharge. Not for the rest of their lives. If they saw combat, that's different. If they want free healthcare, they should have stayed in service.

 @B27VWDD  from Indiana  answered…8mos8MO

Less, as all healthcare should be a single payer system which would negate the need for privatization

 @B24X3M9American Solidarity from Texas  answered…9mos9MO

All veterans deserve the right to access completely free healthcare whenever they need it, but should also be able to go through private providers if they wish

 @B24WGV5 from Kentucky  answered…9mos9MO

Less, but let veterans be able to see any doctor of their choice and have the same quality of care as anyone else

 @B24TMD5from Maine  answered…9mos9MO

Healthcare is a human right, ESPECIALLY to veterans who have sacrificed their lives for us. Healthcare should be free and universal.

 @B24D5LP from Utah  answered…9mos9MO

Yes they should be able to see andy provider and a health savings account might be a great alternative for those times the VA system doesn't meet their need.

 @9ZRNG4P from Massachusetts  answered…9mos9MO

More, and the states, not the federal government, should decide on establishing publicly-funded veterans' hospitals

 @9ZQ74RJ from Utah  answered…10mos10MO

We should use the funding that we already have to provide the best care for them, private or public.

 @9ZP4PHL from North Carolina  answered…10mos10MO

I think that their privatization is fin, but the VA needs to become more willing and devoted to truly helping Veterans.

 @9ZC5Q7V  from North Carolina  answered…10mos10MO

Veterans should be allowed to visit any doctor of their choice, and the VA healthcare system should be replaced completely with additional facilities that would be able to assist the veterans should their doctor of choice not be available. There should also be an increase of funding toward mental health care for the veterans as well.

 @9YHHPNP  from Ohio  answered…10mos10MO

More doctors should be vetted by the department of veteran affairs but there are too many issues with straight privatization.

 @9Y6YF4G from Tennessee  answered…10mos10MO

Veterans should be able to choose between public and private but the taxpayer should not be expected to pay for private.

 @9XSR4WW  from Florida  answered…10mos10MO

More, but with transparency as to how government funding is being spent at private healthcare facilities.

 @9XQN6L6 from Connecticut  answered…10mos10MO

No veteran in our country should be without healthcare and should be able to receive THE BEST healthcare through the VA but also be able to choose if they want to see someone else

 @9XHVMKG from Ohio  answered…10mos10MO

Vets should be treated the same as anyone else, not given benefits to help them nor anything to get in their way.

 @9XBVGHK from Pennsylvania  answered…10mos10MO

Keep the VA healthcare system, but give the option to replace for an HSA to some veterans who live far from the VA Hospitals.

 @9WWMD7Q from Washington  answered…10mos10MO

I also say More..and agree with the above sentences about seeing a doctor of their own choice and a personal health savings account.

 @9WV67FQNo Labels from Florida  answered…10mos10MO

Both. Increase funding for current system to fix it’s mistakes but also make it easier for vets to access private healthcare if wanted.

 @9799PDBConstitution  from California  answered…10mos10MO

Veterans, government employees, politicians, everyone should have the same healthcare options and we should subsidize premiums for injured Veterans, maybe all veterans.

 @9WLBS88 from Ohio  answered…10mos10MO

Don't privatize veterans' healthcare, but give veterans' permanent benefits or discounts that are taken on financially by the government instead.

 @9WCRL7Y from California  answered…11mos11MO

i feel like if they need it for medical reasons its okay but if just becuase they want to be ¨perfect¨ no

 @9W8PPDCRepublican from Idaho  answered…11mos11MO

I am a veteran and am seen at a VA healthcare center. If they don’t have the service necessary, they send us to private. If I have an emergency, I go to private. If you don’t live near a VA center you are on Tricare Select and chose your own private medical. So we are already a mixed bag.

 @9W733V8Republican from Texas  answered…11mos11MO

More and Less. It depends on what private entity will own it and the type of care veterans will receive. It also means that tax payers pay more but there can be ways to avoid raising taxes and giving the people who served our country the best healthcare they can get.

 @9W3CNKB from New York  answered…11mos11MO

More to ensure that veterans get the care they need and are not neglected by the system, but not at the complete expense of others in need as well.

 @9VWVJHH from Florida  answered…11mos11MO

Veterans should be able to see any doctor they wish, free of cost (as long as its a necessary procedure)

 @9VWHFRC from Indiana  answered…11mos11MO

There should be some offices that specialize in care for veterans, but they should get to choose where they receive care at.

 @9VWCV6F from California  answered…11mos11MO

there should be competition between private and non private healthcare for veterans to increase quality while also lowering prices
