Increase

 @9FR42X9Women’s Equality from Wisconsin  agreed…2yrs2Y

If we increase the amount of visas given out to skilled immigrants there will be better people in America and we will be more diverse also it would give those immigrants a chance to a way better life.

 @9LFKBXJ from Washington  commented…1yr1Y

Decrease, companies are currently taking advantage of this program to decrease wages

However, theu should be paid at the same rate as any other worker in that field, companies should be prevented from taking advantage of immigrants workers to steal wages as profits.

 @9LMN9SY from Mississippi  agreed…1yr1Y

Research shows that skilled immigrants drive innovation, create jobs, and fill critical labor gaps. There’s a lot of trades in high demand and with this new generation there’s going to be a lot of jobs not filled

 @9FS34DR from North Carolina  disagreed…2yrs2Y

mmigrants are essential workers. Undocumented immigrants make up approximately 3.2 percent of the country's population, but the 7 million who are employed make up 4.4 percent of the workforce

 @9LFKBXJ from Washington  commented…1yr1Y

Decrease, companies are currently taking advantage of this program to decrease wages

And they should be paid at the same rate as any other worker in that career, a equitable, fair, livable wage.

 @9G6KGZC from Missouri  agreed…2yrs2Y

Skilled immigrants travel to the USA to live a better life or have a better life for there kids. So giving them a job they earned seems like no problem

 @ISIDEWITHDiscuss this answer...10yrs10Y

Decrease

 @9LMN9SY from Mississippi  disagreed…1yr1Y

Immigrant are hard workers. They get stuff done in ways many americans can’t. I’d say skilled immigrants are highly valued if they’re all hard workers like most of them

 @9LYFHFL from California  disagreed…1yr1Y

The country would benefit from a diverse set of intelligent perspectives. My issue is with the definition of skilled often lying in level of college education, whereas I don't think that's always representative of someones abilities or intelligence.

 @9FR42X9Women’s Equality from Wisconsin  disagreed…2yrs2Y

If there are more talented people of different cultures and countries it would make America a way better place.

 @9FNY8W7 from Kansas  disagreed…2yrs2Y

We have many jobs that we need filled. They want a better chance and would be willing to work more than people on out country.

 @ISIDEWITHDiscuss this answer...10yrs10Y

Decrease, and the government should provide more incentives to prepare our citizens for these jobs

 @9G6KGZC from Missouri  disagreed…2yrs2Y

I feel that if immigrants are more skilled then they should get the job but, yes we should have more jobs for the american people but, can the government really do that.

 @ISIDEWITHDiscuss this answer...10yrs10Y

Increase, our economy relies on businesses hiring the highest skilled workers at the lowest cost

  @TheHillbillyLordRepublican from Maryland  agreed…5mos5MO

We should increase, because immigrants, especially illegal ones, are willing to do a lot of menial labor for lower pay than the average American. This is because they are desperate to do anything to earn a wage and be able to stay here since they aren't here legally so they are afraid of being deported. They should not get a fair pay though. If they are coming here to escape poverty or violence in their country and they demand fair pay, they are ungrateful brats who should be deported immediately. We should cut off all government aid to illegals, and deport them unless if they work for us. Working illegals are actually useful to the economy since they can provide us cheap labor, so deporting them would not be a wise choice. Just deport the useless ones, the ones who don't work and live off of government aid.

Decrease, companies are currently taking advantage of this program to decrease wages

 @99VCJX4Libertarian from Pennsylvania  commented…2yrs2Y

  @TheHillbillyLordRepublican from Maryland  commented…5mos5MO

Isn't that good, to decrease wages? That way, their products will be cheaper for citizens to buy.

 @ISIDEWITHDiscuss this answer...10yrs10Y

 @9FZLGDMDemocrat from North Carolina  answered…2yrs2Y

Increase for the economy’s sake, but penalize companies that abuse this program to reduce wages and provide more programs to prepare our own citizens to compete for these jobs.

  @TheHillbillyLordRepublican from Maryland  disagreed…5mos5MO

The whole point of letting illegals stay and work, is because they can work for lower wages, since they don't get fair pay rights. Citizens would not want to do many of the jobs that the illegals do, for the lower pay the illegals are doing it for.

 @chickentaco from Utah  answered…5yrs5Y

Increase, but penalize companies taking advantage of this program to decrease wages. But only increase if we don't have enough skilled workers in the U.S. already.

  @TheHillbillyLordRepublican from Maryland  disagreed…5mos5MO

Don't you know that if a company is paying their workers a lower wage, then their products will be cheaper for citizens to buy, since the cost to manufacture or attain them was cheaper in the first place. And cheaper prices of goods is good for the economy. Ofc, if it was a citizen working, that wouldn't be fair pay, but illegals don't get fair pay, so they can work for a lower wage.

 @587QZFYfrom Florida  answered…5yrs5Y

Greed in America has college grads expecting wages that long time workers have...THERE is a thing about learning and starting at the bottom...and if companies can find foreign workers who appreciate what they are paid...that's ok...

 @3PLD6WQfrom Illinois  answered…5yrs5Y

Increase the amount. There are so many jobs that high-skilled immigrant workers do that U S citizens would never do even if it meant unemployment for them. Businesses should not take advantage of these high-skilled immigrant workers by paying them cheap wages. I believe they should earn a fair wage.

  @TheHillbillyLordRepublican from Maryland  commented…5mos5MO

Businesses should take advantage of this by paying the illegals a lower wage, that way their products can be cheaper. It's called capitalism, hiring workers for the lowest pay, and it is good for the economy.

 @3PMDT3Jfrom Tennessee  answered…5yrs5Y

the US is one of the hardest countries to get a skilled work visa, we want to be able to go overseas and work in other countries but we don't want to reciprocate. In the interest of cooperation, we should make it easier to get these visas, so that we can receive them ourselves if so desired.

 @B4CHTPVIndependent from California  answered…3mos3MO

Decrease, as the nation is being too reliant on immigrants and it lowers the quality of life for citizens.

 @9FCKLN3 from Oklahoma  answered…2yrs2Y

 @9L4Z23BIndependent  from Pennsylvania  answered…1yr1Y

Increase, there should be no limit for immigrants who are healthy, educated, and financially take care of themself

 @9GT9LJR from New York  answered…2yrs2Y

Stay the same, add incentives to make more Americans with a passion for more skilled jobs to take the risk.

 @9GN5KWP from North Carolina  answered…2yrs2Y

Increase, but reform K-12 curriculum + expand access to higher education (trade/vocational schools, community/4 year public colleges) to prepare Americans for these jobs

 @5H6V8BLfrom Washington  answered…5yrs5Y

The high-skilled standard is ableist and excludes immigrants who do not meet ridiculous standards. You can't place the value of a person on their ability.

 @8L7SSRC from North Carolina  answered…5yrs5Y

Increase, but crack down on companies taking advantage of this program to decrease wages of both domestic and immigrant workers.

 @B5XQM2Gfrom Guam  answered…1wk1W

Increase, along with major review to corporates which are taking advantages of this. There must be a stricter standard or requirement for high-skilled immigrant workers.

 @B5WDD24 from North Carolina  answered…2wks2W

Keep the current amount for the economy’s sake, but penalize any company that abuses this program to reduce wages or working conditions and create more incentives to attract and prepare our own citizens to compete for these jobs.

Increase BUT fix the system because companies are currently taking advantage of this program to decrease wages

 @B5TTN2MCommunist  from New York  answered…3wks3W

I am satisfied with the current amount, but we should do something about companies currently taking advantage of this program to decrease wages.

 @B5TM5K4 from Tennessee  answered…3wks3W

Increase for manufacturing since many Americans don’t know how to work these jobs and we need to rebuild our industry.

 @B5SXJ36 from New York  answered…3wks3W

increase but make sure that the businesses starting with the ones with the highest amount of workers with temporary work visas are audited to make sure that they aren't paying them less or under the table

 @B5LSNXX from Ohio  answered…1mo1MO

Decrease high-skilled immigrant workers from friendly nations but not for hostile nations so our allies don't experience significant brain drain.

 @B5KBM97 from Virginia  answered…1mo1MO

Increase, and the immigrants should be able to negotiate with or report their employer without fear of deportation.

 @B5JP9GG from New York  answered…2mos2MO

 @B5GGJ9QWorking Family from Massachusetts  answered…2mos2MO

Increase, with protections so that companies are prevented from trying to save labor costs to the detriment of domestic workers.

 @B5FBC7Kfrom Virgin Islands  answered…2mos2MO

 @B59WHLJ from New York  answered…2mos2MO

if they are legal they can come work but these companies pay less money cause they can hire them for cheaper and others lose out on real jobs

 @B59Q3D2 from Ohio  answered…2mos2MO

If they have gone under professional training under someone and earned that visa, then yes, they can and probably will earn that visa. As for the amount of visas given, that all depends.

 @B59FVWMPopulist from Washington  answered…2mos2MO

Uncap but require that sponsor companies pay a tax of 10 US median salaries per year per person and dependent to allow a work visa.

 @B58JJKS from Kansas  answered…2mos2MO

Neither but make sure that all visa requirements are necessary to qualify for legal visa status but should check when visa applications are expired and make sure they are qualified for the next round of visa applications

 @B562ZC6 from North Carolina  answered…2mos2MO

There should be no change in the amount given. But they shoulincrease the advantages, wage, and benefits given to immigrant workers.

 @B55P3CWSocialist from South Carolina  answered…2mos2MO

 @B55FDQJGreen from Minnesota  answered…2mos2MO

 @B5373LV from California  answered…2mos2MO

making the visa programs a lot more safer and works lot more faster so that way there isn't a wait line for anybody and their work is done better. So that way immigrants don't have to rely on "lawyers" they pay to get them a legal visa in a crooked system.

 @B4YLMDV from Illinois  answered…2mos2MO

Increase, but hold companies accountable for decreased wages towards immigrants with proven high skilled knowledge in their respective fields

 @B4YGC8PSocialist from Texas  answered…2mos2MO

People have the right to free movement and there should be no immigration limitations that would allow for the existence of work visas.

 @B4RW23Z from Tennessee  answered…3mos3MO

Decrease, the program is being taken advantage of by immigrants whose culture and values clash with mine.

 @B4KLCSB from California  answered…3mos3MO

if there are certain sectors in the job market that need more labor then allow more work visas to be given out

 @9ZTQW4V  from Texas  answered…3mos3MO

Increase the number of high-skilled visas, while also strengthening domestic workforce training and ensuring protections against wage suppression or exploitation.

 @B4J7KDHfrom Maine  answered…3mos3MO

Increase, but make companies have to pay them the same wage as citizens otherwise it is just exploitation

 @B4HVSCX from Oregon  answered…3mos3MO

I believe it is good for skilled workers to come in but they should be paid the same as everyone else.

 @B4GWZ4JIndependent from New York  answered…3mos3MO

Increase for the short term, but prepare our own citizens for these jobs as well so we can rely on our own citizens to ensure dominance in those fields

 @B4FGGSB from New York  answered…3mos3MO

Increase if needed in specific fields, but with the restriction that they may not be paid less than median wage in that field, so they are not being used by companies to decrease wages.

 @B4FCJW4Republican from Georgia  answered…3mos3MO

Decrease and ban amnesty, visas, green cards, asylum, etc. and only allow citizenship applications the constitutional legal method for the sake of border security.

 @B4D6KHP from Georgia  answered…3mos3MO

Decrease and deport them if they are illegal for the sake of border security, national security, health, a good supply chain, low taxes, low national debt, a low unemployment rate, and law and order.

 @B4C7QPN from Georgia  answered…3mos3MO

The government needs to decrease this amount until they get control of immigration and figure out who is here illegally now. We have no idea who is still here and I do not think adding more people is going to make this country safer until we find the people here for bad reasons.

 @B4C6FCD from Missouri  answered…3mos3MO

Increase, but we shouldn't be using it as a method to outsource work for cheap labor. We should be paying the same amount we'd pay to an American citizen.

 @B4B5FVS from Utah  answered…3mos3MO

Increase it for immigrants that can do the job better than the average American. Otherwise, decrease it.

 @B484DKC from Pennsylvania  answered…3mos3MO

The current level is sufficient but we need to better prepare US citizens for these high-skill jobs.

 @B45H73W from Utah  answered…3mos3MO

Increase them as long as they can do the job better than any American. Otherwise, we should be prioritizing our own country folk for these jobs to combat local unemployment.

 @B458PS2Independent from Wisconsin  answered…3mos3MO

Increase temporary work visas given, but increase wages to provide incentives for citizens to also work those jobs and be able to make a living off of them

 @B3ZKJBVIndependent from Georgia  answered…4mos4MO

Increase, immigrants should be able to come here and work for more money than they'd get paid somewhere else.

 @B3ZGLGT from Washington  answered…4mos4MO

Increase, but only if the immigrant's pay is comparable to US citizen's pay. Too many companies use immigration to depress wages.

 @B3XQXT7 from South Dakota  answered…4mos4MO

Increase and require companies pay immigrants the same as a US citizen while also better preparing US citizens to compete for these jobs.

 @B3V97YPGreen from New York  answered…4mos4MO

Continue offering temporary work visas but encourage companies to keep paying any of their workers (US born or otherwise) good wages. Also add incentives to prepare US born people for these jobs.

 @B3TCFPJ from Kansas  answered…4mos4MO

Increase, and stop companies that hire them from abusing them or limiting their ability to change jobs.

 @B3STJZK from New York  answered…4mos4MO

Ensure those who receive the work visa have work mobility and have the ability to fight for fair wages and working conditions. The main reason for an increase in migrant labor over domestic is not a lack of domestic skilled laborers but an ability for corporations to take advantage of high-skilled immigrant workers in a way that domestic workers cannot be taken advantage of.

 @B3HF4VR from New York  answered…4mos4MO

Regardless, the program needs to be reworked to prevent companies from taking advantage of this program and the immigrant workers.

  @TheHillbillyLordRepublican  from Maryland  answered…4mos4MO

Increase, so we can use the illegal immigrants as a means of cheap labor to do the jobs that citizens don't want to do for low pay

 @B3DPRMP from Iowa  answered…4mos4MO

Extend the lengths of such visas. Also, how about you grant highly trained and educated immigrants automatic citizenship after 2 renewals of said Visas… As by then, they may have committed to staying in America.

 @B3BN2ND from Connecticut  answered…4mos4MO

Increase, but monitor businesses to ensure that they are not exploiting the system by lowering wages.

 @B3BLW57 from New York  answered…4mos4MO

Temporary work visas are coercive by nature and give employers too much power over their work visa employees

 @B3B8VRF from Wisconsin  answered…4mos4MO

I think we should give out as many as there are people applying, good at what they do, and of course willing to work, however I do think the government should monitor this in case of companies taking advantage of foreigners and giving them decreased wages.
