Prior to 1934, Americans could walk into a hardware store and purchase an actual, honest-to-God fully-automatic machine gun and as much ammo as they could afford. Cash and carry, no background check, no waiting period, no registration. Americans could literally order a 20mm anti-tank cannon and crates of shells for it and have it delivered to their doorstep. We did not see then the kind of mass murders in schools, theaters, malls, and grocery stores that we see today. Access to guns is more restricted now than almost any other point in our history. We should be rolling back unconstitutional infringements, not adding to them.
