“I think it depends on a number of circumstances. First, is this a medical or a surgical abortion? For medical, I think it's unnecessary, but for surgical, there should be parental notification. Second, why is the minor getting an abortion? Is sexual abuse by a family member involved? If the minor is being sexually abused by a relative, parental notification should only be required if the minor consents, to protect them from retribution by said family member.”
