“All government pensions should be eliminated in a way similar to the pensions at IBM and Verizon. Those already retired, or past a certain age keep their pensions. Everyone else gets bought out and has a 401k. The idea that a taxpayer should be on the hook to re-up pension funding every time there is a bear market is ridiculous. Government workers should have their retirement savings subject to the vagaries of the market/economy like most everyone else.”
