As part of the October 16th, 2013 deal to extend the debt limit, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell received a provision for the Olmsted Lock and Dam in his home state of Kentucky. Section 123 of the Senate’s plan to reopen the government and extend the debt ceiling called for the Federal Government to increase funding for the Olmsted Lock and Dam from $775 million to nearly $3 billion.
