Question 2 will legalize the possession and consumption of marijuana by adults over the age of 21. Marijuana sold under the act would be subject to a 15% sales tax which would be allocated to K-12 education. Proponents of the proposition include NORML and Clark County Commissioner Chris Giunchigliani. Opponents of the proposition include Purdue Pharma (the manufacturer or OxyContin,) Abbot Laboratories (maker of the opiod Vicodi) and their Super PAC Project SAM (founded by Kevin Sabet, David Frum and Patrick Kennedy).
