Question 1 will require the Governor of Maryland to appoint someone from the same political party when he fills a vacancy for the office of Attorney General or comptroller. For example, if the Attorney General was a Democrat the Governor would have to fill the vacancy with a Democrat. If the Comptroller was a Republican the Governor would have to replace them with a Republican. See recent Question 1 news
