The UK and Germany have launched a coordinated '50-day drive' to rapidly increase military aid to Ukraine, responding to former President Donald Trump’s ultimatum giving Russia 50 days to end the war or face severe consequences.
This initiative, discussed at a major online meeting of the Ukraine Defence Contact Group with 52 participating countries, focuses on delivering air defense systems, artillery shells, and drones to bolster Ukraine’s defenses. The UK has pledged £700 million in new aid, including 220,000 Gepard anti-aircraft shells in partnership with Germany. The campaign aims to pressure Russia into negotiations by strengthening Ukraine’s position on the battlefield.
NATO and European leaders are uniting to accelerate arms deliveries and coordinate weekly on Ukraine’s urgent needs.
