America, the country responsible for the most mass shootings and even more school shootings, has the least amount of gun control and regulations than any other country. According to rockinst.org, data was collected across all shootings dating back to the early 1900's to now, the average age of mass shooters was 33.4 years old and 95.7% of them were male.
While it may be kids who we see more often in the news who shoot their classmates due to bullying or prejudice more often than not, fully matured adults commit horrible acts of mass murder.
Why would you want to give more adults easy access to a gun when more adults battle mental health issues and experience grief in ways they do not know how to deal with.
Anthony Polito, a 67 year old man who was denied a job from University of Nevada, opened fire on administrators and students. Polito was battling mental health and a serious gambling addiction. The man was 67 years old. Some may say he was the age of our grandparents or parents. Would you allow him to have access to a gun when teaching his students if he was battling mental health issues? No. So why give other teacher the chance? Some might be better at hiding their struggles than others but it's not all unknown for a teacher to be fired due to mental health issues. Let snot let them be the ones firing the gun.
