The government should raise the federal minimum wage because at the rate we are at now. It is impossible to be independent or even afford the bare minimum to live.

 @9FSJT5LLibertarian from Virginia  disagreed…2yrs2Y

Minimum wage should be increased due to the liability of others not being able to live off minimum wage.

 @9GXWS7BLibertarian from Maryland  disagreed…2yrs2Y

People need to be able to afford the basic needs to life. How can we have equal opportunities without fair pay

 @9G6BVM8Libertarian from New York  disagreed…2yrs2Y

Inflation rose prices so much and it is so much harder to sustain a life on minimum wage now then it was 20 or so years ago

 @9GW85LXLibertarian from Maryland  agreed…2yrs2Y

Raising minimum wage would just eliminate jobs, negatively affecting the poor. Businesses would have to cut cost somehow.

  @VulcanMan6  from Kansas  commented…2yrs2Y

So then the problem is clearly private for-profit business, not the minimum wages...

 @9G8PJYMLibertarian from New York  agreed…2yrs2Y

STOP raising the minimum wage! It’s already too high, & everything is already ridiculously expensive thanks to Joe Biden’s causes for skyrocketing inflation & unemployment rates. He has done absolutely nothing, & minimum wage raises do nothing but screw the rest of us over because of huge price hikes. It’s bad enough mcdonald’s employees are getting paid close to what trade skill jobs offer… that is pathetic.

 @9GGM8HWLibertarianfrom Virgin Islands  agreed…2yrs2Y

Every increase in minimum wage has resulted in a downsizing of workforce, the elimination of a segment of workforce (teenagers at fast food), or an increase in illegal immigration hires. Let the market set the rate because the consumers will always restrict how much and how often they are willing to pay for the goods and services.

Why would you want those workers to be paid so little? Pray tell why you would not support someone who works at a job and receives so little for their efforts. I believe that everyone deserves to be paid adequately for their skills and the amount of effort they put into their job, and it seems that you don't.

You should have some opinion on whether you want the minimum wage to increase, decrease, or stay the same because if you dont companies will use that to their advantage to keep things the same for anyone who does want change.

 @B2KMSFRLibertarian from Pennsylvania  disagreed…6mos6MO

The current minimum wage isn't enough for people to be able to afford basics needs, like food, shelter, water, and power.

 @9MMZ4WMLibertariandisagreed…1yr1Y

everything in the world requires money and the prices of everything is increasing so there needs to be a minimum wage but not just a minimum wage it needs to be raised

 @9MLJ3SBLibertarian from Arkansas  disagreed…1yr1Y

As a worker who provides customer service for others I think I should get a say in how much I should be payed to pay for this community.

 @9LNZGPG from Wyoming  disagreed…1yr1Y

Minimum wage was set when you could buy a house for 25000 dollars now a house runs 35000 dollars no one can live off of minimum wage

 @mathomas156Libertarian  from Virginia  agreed…4mos4MO

If someone wants to make a desired income, they must work for that and prove to the business and government that they have earned that wage.

 @ColomboSocialist  from Michigan  disagreed…5mos5MO

We've seen prices increase along with inflation regardless of a change in the minimum wage. The only real effect raising the minimum wage has on our economy, is higher disposable incomes for the lower income brackets. That provides more GDP growth with consumer spending along with making basic necessities more affordable for everyone. The costs will change completely independent of worker salaries to a point.

For an example, the (AUV) or average revenue of a McDonalds franchise is $3,505,000 a year. If the restaurant had 50 employees total, each of them receiving previously $10 an hour,…  Read more

When looking at the data on inflation, the minimum wage, the wage gaps in America, the shrinking middle and upper class, and seeing the accumulation of more wealth in fewer hands than ever in history, I do not see how anyone could be against it.

 @9J3RRJ7Libertarian from Florida  disagreed…2yrs2Y

Inflations is so much higher now that the current minimum wage can not live alone on it compared to before.

 @9VV7P2NLibertarian  from Missouri  disagreed…9mos9MO

The Federal Minimum Wage is an outdated income source from 2009. Some companies can take advantage of this in local restaurants and make employees hope that tips will give them enough income to survive. The necessity to raise the Federal Minimum Wage is dire as there needs to be an increased chance for people to avoid huge debts from not earning enough money within the respective businesses they are employed in.

 @9G6GDDN from Louisiana  disagreed…2yrs2Y

You can't really argue with this, they are taking a neutral stance and obviously do not care about the topic

 @9G7YQMWLibertarian from Michigan  disagreed…2yrs2Y
