I would say instead of moving into oil, coal, or renewable sources we should move into nuclear it is the best source as of now and it is safe

 @B4JRYLS from Texas  answered…3mos3MO

Expand only with the permission of the Mexican government , make sure oil operations are safe from contaminating sea life / drinking water

 @B35NVZ8No Labels from Texas  answered…5mos5MO

I think we should incentivize the use of nuclear rather than banning other means of energy production as of now.

 @LoneLupari from Texas  answered…8mos8MO

No, more safety and efficiency procedures should be made before expansion of minding/drilling is considered.

 @HtindalRepublican  from Texas  answered…9mos9MO

Yes, but continue to offer government subsidies for use of clean energy until we are able to ween off of the need for fossil fuels.

 @9V62HL8Democrat from Texas  answered…10mos10MO

I think u.s expand offshore oil drilling could cause pollution but at the same time we need oil for companies and cars.

 @9V558XWVeteran from Texas  answered…10mos10MO

The U.S. should invest in other environmental energy sources rather than relying on non-renewable resources like oil.

 @9RQHQ7D from Texas  answered…12mos12MO

I think that the USA needs to drill in the USA. We need to support ourselves with oil, gas, automobile manufacturing, clothing manufacturing etc. my step dad helped build the Alaskan pipeline. His name was Robert A. Graham he worked for Parker Drilling.

 @9PBTB3Y from Texas  answered…1yr1Y

No, nationalize the energy sector and transition to alternative energy sources to end offshore drilling

 @9MCVD29 from Texas  answered…1yr1Y

I think all energy sources except for natural energy sources such as solar energy and wind energy should be phased out.

 @9M899VG from Texas  answered…1yr1Y

to save the oil for reserves in case of war so we won't be held hostage for oil and can rely on it for ourselves and look into different power sources.

 @9LTMS5J from Texas  answered…1yr1Y

No, but maintain what's already there but also offer incentives for alternative energy production opportunities.

 @9L5M6LN from Texas  answered…1yr1Y

if we want to drill oil offshore I'm fine with it. i believe there needs to be strict maintenance and regulation as to not cause significant environmental harm.

 @9KG94P6  from Texas  answered…1yr1Y

Yes, even if every mode of transportation was electric, there are still countless petroleum products that are hypercritical to modern life

 @9KCZRYW from Texas  answered…1yr1Y

No as it will increase the contamination of the wild life and sustainably put the ocean ecosystem at risk.

 @9KC4VP9 from Texas  answered…1yr1Y

Yes and no. its a dangerous process and maybe looking into other options of energy and sources of oil will be better.

 @9K747WM from Texas  answered…1yr1Y

No, if we truly are going to save ourselves and switch to electric options, then oil has no use other than a form of currency and even then there are better alternatives, oil should have no economic and industrial value.

 @9K5YH9M from Texas  answered…1yr1Y

yes but focus on not causing any oil spills and harming the ocean and environment, more training or etc

 @9K3YBY6 from Texas  answered…1yr1Y

No, government is supposed to regulate only... If the federal government is expanding it, they are too involved.

 @9JYXZ2X from Texas  answered…1yr1Y

Yes, but only until we're able to reasonably find alternative sources of energy or how to better conserve what we have.

 @9JYLQKK from Texas  answered…1yr1Y

slow down the offshore drilling as the economy and infrastructure isn't ready to fully switch to other forms of energy

 @9JXYSNG  from Texas  answered…1yr1Y

No, idk why people think getting oil not from the US will help the envirnment when were just getting it from other places

 @9JRCCZ4 from Texas  answered…1yr1Y

Yes, However to combat possible attacks on marine life more environmental laws should be put in place and give the states power to create Marine Protection Guards to help actively enforce laws that protect marine ecosystems.

 @9JQB8Z8 from Texas  answered…1yr1Y

Yes, but only for a temporary contract while production and availability of clean energy is expanded, to which the drilling may be ended

 @9JLTYRDIndependent from Texas  answered…1yr1Y

Rapid expansion would be farcical, but we need oil. Everything that makes us special as a species comes from fossil fuels.

 @9JK8SNC from Texas  answered…1yr1Y

Yes, but only until we can add better energy solutions for every sector that requires oil now. the current electric car system with lithium batteries will be a worse polluter than oil.

 @9JGKZ47 from Texas  answered…1yr1Y

No, instead work first on preventing the oil drilling they have now from spilling and polluting the waters.

 @9JD622S from Texas  answered…1yr1Y

No, but maintain our current offshore oil wells until they are dry or until we switch to more renewable energys

 @9J8NXHH from Texas  answered…1yr1Y

Due to instability in the Middle East it may be a good idea right now to gain a lot of our oil domestically, but that shouldn’t be free rein for life. Possibly implementing drilling windows.

 @9J7S56YIndependent from Texas  answered…1yr1Y

Yes but do not over do it keep it still limited but try to make us self efficient rather than buy our oil

 @9J7R5FV from Texas  answered…1yr1Y

Yes, but make sure that alternative energy investments are being upheld and environmental protections are being used.

 @9J75NN6Independent from Texas  answered…1yr1Y

Yes, expand offshore oil drilling but only until green energy (solar and electric) are readily available to everyone.

 @9J2LSB8 from Texas  answered…2yrs2Y

The US should increase its fossil fuel energy production and prioritize nuclear fusion as an energy source the way that sending a man to the moon was prioritized.

 @9HWCBS3 from Texas  answered…2yrs2Y

No, maintain our own current wells, while also working to provide incentives and easier ways of alternative energy production

 @9HPSTVK from Texas  answered…2yrs2Y

We have plenty of untouched resources here that we have not utilized so it should stay the same but start using our resources

 @9HNVFDB from Texas  answered…2yrs2Y

I would only support expanidng the drilling with strict regulations regarding humans and animals affected, the natural environment, etc. I would also be skeptical of expanidng into specific arenas like environmental treasures.

 @9HMJNCZ from Texas  answered…2yrs2Y

the government should fund the technology to fully scan the the united states for oil before damaging anymore of the environment, while also continuing to find an alternative for oil

 @9HHBMZ6 from Texas  answered…2yrs2Y

Yes, But increase the amount of safety regulations that have to be passed so that there isn't a high chance of oil spills.

 @9HDW3P5 from Texas  answered…2yrs2Y

yes but limit where and how many there should be put around and see whats around to make sure nothing gets harm or worst

 @9HD784VIndependent from Texas  answered…2yrs2Y

Yes, until we get an infrastructure for alternative energy production built to replace the oil and gas sector.

 @9H9BZ2R from Texas  answered…2yrs2Y

I think it depends on the land. I would not support Oil drilling on native lands or inhabited areas. And i think deforestation is awful.

 @9H62BXZ from Texas  answered…2yrs2Y

The US should deregulate the energy sector, and allow for more nuclear energy. offshore drilling should be allowed to expand if it wants to, but I think that it will naturally shrink if we allow for more nuclear energy which is cleaner and cheaper.

 @9H54FVC from Texas  answered…2yrs2Y

Depends, do we need more oil right now, then yes. If we have enough oil to maintain the US need for energy, then no.

 @9H3GPHRSocialist from Texas  answered…2yrs2Y

Other energy sources aren't fully available yet to completely replace oil but it should not be exploited by the capitalists.

 @9H2HJBS from Texas  answered…2yrs2Y

It's not the government's place to influence private business. I think there should be a push for renewable energy.

 @9GW6FVT from Texas  answered…2yrs2Y

Yes, but only as a way to decrease foreign energy imports, while also increasing reliance on Nuclear energy and tapering off oil use.

 @9GTBSQ5 from Texas  answered…2yrs2Y

We should focus on our own pipelines within the country and give people in the country better job opportunities.

 @9GFLKMM from Texas  answered…2yrs2Y

No, and end oil (and non-renewable energy in general) and socialize the energy sector (and economy in general)

 @9G385PVLibertarian from Texas  answered…2yrs2Y

It's a debated topic, Some argue for expanding offshore oil drilling , while others have different opinions.

 @9FLGFN6 from Texas  answered…2yrs2Y

No, provide more incentives for alternative energy production but maintain our current offshore oil wells.

 @9FHY4H7 from Texas  answered…2yrs2Y

 @9F9V7TZ from Texas  answered…2yrs2Y

 @9DQQ6LH from Texas  answered…2yrs2Y

 @9DLD6N2 from Texas  answered…2yrs2Y

 @9DJWGK2 from Texas  answered…2yrs2Y

Yes, but private companies should be held to strict safety regulations and should cover all charges for oil spills. Additionally, the government should incentivize alternative renewable energy production.

 @9DDKZHS from Texas  answered…2yrs2Y

It should be heavily restricted in order to pose as little damage to the environment as possible, and many resources should be focused on developing alternative energy sources to make them more cost-efficient and accessible.

 @9D7JWLV from Texas  answered…2yrs2Y

 @8QBXDFM from Texas  answered…5yrs5Y

yes, but the offshore oil drilling must be in an area that does not effect the environment like Trump is doing with the polar bears.

 @8Q9RJYG from Texas  answered…5yrs5Y

 @9CYFJJ2 from Texas  answered…2yrs2Y

 @99B2ZP8 from Texas  answered…2yrs2Y

 @997QT5R from Texas  answered…2yrs2Y

 @994XDJJ from Texas  answered…2yrs2Y

It's a mix as we should continue doing it however slowly stop as we make more process by using clean energy.

 @993PWCX from Texas  answered…2yrs2Y

 @987ZLVC from Texas  answered…3yrs3Y

The US should have no opinion until a court case arises with a victim who can quantify real damage.

 @96QWB3W from Texas  answered…3yrs3Y

Yes, but find more environmental friendly means of energy and start trying to wean off of our dependency for oil.

 @96M23GCLibertarian from Texas  answered…3yrs3Y

Yes but invest research to ensure that oil leaks become preventable and no longer an issue

 @96LDW7T from Texas  answered…3yrs3Y

We should be drilling in alaska, texas, wyoming, north dakota, and other oil rich states instead of discouraging fracking and releasing excessive amounts of oil.

 @96H4T8Q from Texas  answered…3yrs3Y

Yes, expand drilling while also providing incentives for alternative energy production

 @967C2KS from Texas  answered…3yrs3Y

 @95XVG7D from Texas  answered…3yrs3Y

Yes. But we need be be ecologically conscious to avoid catastrophies. However, it would bring oil/petroleum related products' prices down, and make us less dependent on foreign oil.

 @95TBGP2 from Texas  answered…3yrs3Y

provide more incentives for alternative energy production, but maintain our current offshore oil wells

 @95T48C6 from Texas  answered…3yrs3Y

Yes in the short-term but we need to switch to nuclear energy while we find safer forms energy.

 @95RPDTRIndependent from Texas  answered…3yrs3Y

No, and nationalize the energy sector as well as expand into alternative energy production.

 @954TYPYDemocrat from Texas  answered…3yrs3Y

No, but keep our existing wells and fund more alternative clean energy recourses.

 @94BGHFC from Texas  answered…3yrs3Y

Yes, but reevaluate current safety stands and laws first while also providing incentives for alternative energy production

 @949HQKFIndependent from Texas  answered…3yrs3Y

 @93X985SRepublican from Texas  answered…3yrs3Y

 @93HWGW5Green from Texas  answered…3yrs3Y

No, and we need to do each of the following: nationalize the energy sector, end all offshore drilling, AND provide more incentives for alternative energy production.

 @93B6F3H from Texas  answered…3yrs3Y

 @9376VRX from Texas  answered…3yrs3Y

 @9373DTB from Texas  answered…3yrs3Y

No, nationalize the energy sector and provide incentives for alternative energy production

 @92YVXM8 from Texas  answered…3yrs3Y

maintain our current oil supply but provide incentives for alternative energy production and slowly scale down oil production as our renewable energy production increases.

 @92MVXMK from Texas  answered…3yrs3Y

No, and instead require demonstration of proper maintenance on existing drilling infrastructure

 @92M6VT5 from Texas  answered…3yrs3Y

End all offshore oil drilling and provide more incentives for alternative energy production.

 @928V7JZ from Texas  answered…3yrs3Y

 @8ZW2RYR from Texas  answered…3yrs3Y

No, nationalize the energy sector, and provide more incentives for alternative energy production
