If the Father of the unborn child is willing and capable of caring for the child and wants to assume legal custody of child and is a fit parent, I feel he should have an equal say in the decision. There should be rights for Fathers who are able and willing.
I think this may encourage people to be more thoughtful about intimacy. I believe Men should have a say in the decision of the termination of their unborn child.
I also believe in required counseling before and after abortion as it often leads to eventual traumatic disorders and depression.

There is no evidence showing that the woman has her mental wellness affected from an abortion. Who is going to pay for all of that? The main reason why a woman gets an abortion is because she is financially unstable and cannot afford to care for a child. Sure, it would be nice for a man to have the chance, but the amount of stigma around pregnancy. A abortion is for a woman not a man. A woman's body is more affected by the outcome, and if the man wanted the child then most likely she would not be having an abortion. Plus, how are you suppose to enforce that? The man in the relationship can something but the woman doesn't have to listen. The embryo is growing in her not him. The man has no say so in what the woman does with her body. If she decides she doesn't want to carry the embryo that is her personal choice. You cannot tell a woman what to do with her body, you can suggest something, but don't tell her she needs to do this and that.

but the man isn't having the baby. maybe the woman is having the abortion because she doesn't want to give birth or deal with the pregnancy. if a man really wants a baby he can adopt or have a woman be a vessel for a baby (there is a job title for this but I forgot what its called, sorry ) overall its the WOMAN´S choice alone what she wants to do with HER body.

Pro-eugenics. Women of European descent with IQs >100 and sound, healthy children should not be allowed to abort their children. I believe rape, incest, and inevitable danger to mother/child are good exceptions to that rule, but those are rare. The underclasses have free access to abortions.

@5R9PTZPDemocratfrom Connecticut  answered…6mos

Pro Life and Pro Choice, I do not see a conflict with these two, as most societies that have legal and available access to abortion and birth control have statistically fewer abortions overall.

Pro life to an extent. If you decide to have an abortion because you don't want to have a child or you're not ready, well what did you think was going to happen when you had Sex and had a cream shot?! All these ghetto kids knocking up their girls in the hood, they should prob have an abortion because the mother and child is just going to mooch off the system and my paycheck and the kid is prob going to grow up to a perp. I regret having the say that but it's the truth. People need to be better educated, although it's not that hard. You *** inside a girl, she's going to get pregnant.

How are you going to say "These ghetto kids". There is a mixed verity of people having sex and getting pregnant although it may seem as if it is the people who have lower incomes and are just towards the bottom its not only them but also those with money and are privileged. Maybe you need to get more educated on this topic and then you can come back and put your input in things.

Your kidding right? A woman who is raped probably doesn't want to carry around her attackers baby. There have been some who do and either give it up for adoption or simply have an abortion. At the end of the day it is that woman's choice to do what she wants with her body.

End all programs, no abortive procedures period. Lock up all doctors, nurses, staff of any facility that participated in any abortive acts. I want stiff penalties for medical staff and go after any women who have had an abortion and grandfathering it. For each abortion 15 years to life it is premeditated murder not only for the woman also the man that impregnated her!!!!!!!!!!

You see you don't understand the concept that it is not your body but it is theirs. Many people say that abortions are wrong but you have no say in what a woman does with her body. Yes, it may not always be the right thing to do but some people just can't afford to have a kid at the time. It doesn't mean that you should just go kill it instead have time to think if that is what you really, and if it is that is your choice. No one gets to have a say in what you do with your body. Say someone was raped and got pregnant, do you really think a woman is going to want to keep a child that came from a man who hurt her. In some cases they do keep the baby. It really is just that woman's choice. Not yours or anybody elses.

I agree that a woman gets to choose what happens to her body- but only if it is her body. She dosen't have the right to kill a baby because the baby is its own seperate body, and the woman can't choose for it.

Women shouldn't need permission from men to do what they want with their bodies. Also, there are women who are raped, sometimes by men they don't know. I am willing to respectfully disagree with people who are mostly pro-life but but are pro-choice in cases of rape, but saying a woman would need permission from the man who got her pregnant to terminate a pregnancy is disgusting.

@5RQPNJRRepublicanfrom Washington  answered…5mos

Pro choice and pro life - sex is inevitable as well as unexpected pregnancy. Birth control should be mandatory for anyone under 18 and abortion due to irresponsible behavior as in not using birth control should be allowed but with penalty that gets more severe for repeat offenders. Drug addicted adult men and women should have mandatory birth control (implant)until drug tested clean for at least 2 years. Men who fail to use birth control share same responsibility and penalty for their contribution toward unwanted pregnancy. Late term abortions absolutely illegal and carries a minimum 18 year prison sentence. No penalty for victims of rape, incest, or medical issues including known birth defects in the fetus.

@9PZS74TDemocrat from Florida commented…5mos

It is already hard enough to prove someone is raped. That would infringe on someone's privacy to have to make them prove that they were raped, or that the pregnancy is a result of incest. Just let woman have an safe abortion instead of them having to sneak around.

@PositiveEnergyPeace and Freedom from Guam  commented…5mos

Mandatory birth control for those under 18??? What... You realise most don't lose their virginity until 17/18, & hormones can really mess up some women's mental state... If you are instead including things like condoms etc, than I'm not sure how you would mandate/enforce that rule... But yes, obviously the importance of safe sex should be emphasised...

If it was truly proven to be murder, it would not be legal at all. The "baby" is not self aware and cannot live on its own without a mother to provide her time and body. Our incarceration rates are one of the highest in the world, and if you put every single person who had or gets an abortion in prison, it would just make the situation we have now worse.

How many laws are there against men that say they cannot do what they choose to with their bodies? And if there are any that I missed, are people actively trying to keep it there or remove it? How can it be sexist to men if it barely includes the man? This is a female issue that should not have to be debated like this only for men to say its sexist to them.

@5RQSXX8Libertarianfrom Virginia  answered…6mos

I am Pro-life. Individuals should be held personally responsible for the life and support of children they bring into this world through their decision to have sex, even those unborn. Birth control should be made more easily accessible, by removing restrictions placed by the government, so that those who do not wish to become responsible for child can easily avoid that responsibility. In cases of Rape, the rapist should be placed into a state of servitude (as permitted by the states under the 13th amendment as a punishment for crimes) to provide for the child until that child has reached 26
