If one has contributed to our economy, paid taxes, and acted justly under the law, then there is no incentive for them not to vote; they already form part of the population. Of course there should be minimums: 5 year residency, legal status, etc.

 @BB6XBKY from Ohio  disagreed…4mos4MO

I disagree. Individuals who pay taxes and contribute to society should be allowed to vote because it not only takes a long time to become registered as a U.S. citizen, but these individuals often play meaningful roles in the economy and development of the nation as a whole.

Just because someone isn't a citizen doesn't mean they shouldn't have a say in stuff that affects their life. Lots of immigrants work, pay taxes, and live in our communities, so it's fair for them to vote on things like schools, roads and local rules. The process of becoming a legal citizen is extremely long and difficult. If they are in the process of becoming a legal citizen, they should not be punished. They are humans, not "illegal aliens".

Immigrants on American soil are directly affected by our government's policies, and should be given a say in them. They pay taxes, have jobs, and live in our cities. These people should not be criminalized for being negatively affected by a system that purposefully makes it nearly impossible to enter our country. If our laws apply to them, they should be able to vote on them as well.

Many non-citizens are still tax payers, meaning they contrubte to our community s and citizens wellbeing s. THis in itself makes them a citizen, giving them the right to vote!!! All tax payers should be allowed to vote.

If someone is a resident of a place and are affected by laws enacted by politicians in charge, they should be able to vote.

 @BBBMMPJ from Florida  disagreed…4mos4MO

If a foreigner is living here and paying taxes and is a good person they should be able to vote in elections.

 @BB7C8DB from Tennessee  disagreed…4mos4MO

Foreigners are like us, humans, just with different culture, so it's stupid to not give equal voting rights to foreigners just because they have different culture, race, and birthplace.

 @BB77KWD from Idaho  disagreed…4mos4MO

if I will be here on a vesa that lasts several years then I would like to have some say on what happens in the local government.

 @BBB7D5WIndependent from Delaware  agreed…4mos4MO

America isn’t the only country with immigration laws and policies. Name one country where you can just show up, not be documented, and be able to vote and reap the same benefits locals do. If an American needs an ID to vote, how would it make sense for someone with nothing to vote?

 @BB7P8JKVeteran from Oklahoma  agreed…4mos4MO

Yes. Foreigners should not be allowed to vote in any nation's elections. People should only vote in the elections of the nation they are a citizen of, and nowhere else. Otherwise, people will be given the power to politically experiment or destabilize one nation, and if that country fails, they can escape back to their home country to avoid the consequences.

 @BB7MMW8 from Wyoming  agreed…4mos4MO

I agree with this statement, and I don't know what statistics you would really need, just like how we wouldn't be allowed to vote in places we aren't citizens

 @BB77J2S from California  agreed…4mos4MO

I completely agree and find it ridiculous that people even say otherwise. That defeats the entire purpose of the voting system and rights of an American citizen.

 @BB77GJB from California  agreed…4mos4MO

I completely agree with this statement, if you are not a citizen then you should not be allowed to vote, period.

 @BB6W2B6 from Virginia  agreed…4mos4MO

You don't even need statistics its common sense if you aren't a citizen, you shouldn't be able to vote in our elections.

 @BB6V32L from New Hampshire  agreed…4mos4MO

I agree with this statement because those who are not citizens should never have the right to determine the future of our country.

 @BBC8W3M  from Utah  disagreed…4mos4MO

A good amount of the United States are foreigners and to not let them vote could really affect the poll.
