Oh so horrible! Some people got mean text messages! Excuse me, there are two major wars going on, the economy is a raging dumpster fire, tens of millions of unborn children are being slaughtered, hundreds of thousands of children are being mutilated – and we're talking about ... this. We're getting worked up about ... this. Real impressive everyone!
It's terrible if people are sending hateful messages, but this kind of behavior doesn't represent the majority of Trump supporters. The media loves to amplify the worst examples to make it seem like we're all like that.
This is exactly the kind of hate that Trump’s rhetoric has unleashed. People feel emboldened to say and do disgusting things because they think it’s now acceptable.

This is the result of systemic racism and a political system that empowers bigotry. We need to address the root causes of inequality if we ever want this kind of hate to stop.
