Democratic Congressman Tom Suozzi wrote today:
"In this election, Americans have made their voice clear: Democrats need to focus more on issues Americans care about, like wages and benefits, and less on being politically correct. Moderate White, Black, Hispanic, Asian, Christian, Jewish, Muslim, union, non-union, and other voters fear that the world we live in and the values we live by are under threat, and Democrats have been too intimidated to speak up for the same values that many of us hold dear — the American Dream, public safety and a common sense of right and wrong among them.
Many Americans are simply afraid of "the Left" more than they are afraid of what President Trump will do. While some Democrats effectively responded to Republican's claims of chaos at the Southern border, we still ceded too much ground to the Republicans on an issue we could have won. And we failed as a party to respond to the Republican weaponization of anarchy on college campuses, defund the police, biological boys playing in girls' sports, and a general attack on traditional values.
Going forward, we need to make the case every day that we will fight to give everyone a fair shake and that America is for everybody. We cannot get wrapped around the axle by our base and resistance politics."

When are you going to admit the majority of Americans can’t bring themselves to vote for a female?
Especially one of color.
‘Her laugh was annoying, she had a personality problem, she made me feel inferior’ & all the other bull **** .
Misogyny, sexism, greed & bigotry won.
@@1876-Elbert1mo1MO
Sexism... When our dear VP completely ignored the male vote? Trump won because he is closer to being on God's side.
@9Z9HNKC1mo1MO
How about it is the policies? Americans can't afford food, rent, and life. Nonstop wars. Non-stop immigration. How about people who are sick of citizens being bullied and verbally attacked? Called every vile thing the left can think of. Hey, keep thinking your way and keep expressing it loudly. It is the best way to lose an election. I encourage you to keep saying that narrative to the majority of pissed-off people.
@9YNP72P1mo1MO
Her being a woman that is Syrian,Indian and Irish had nothing to do with the reason she lost. It was the extreme far left policies, and the last 4 yrs of failed policies.
I hate to say it, but Suozzi’s got a point here. Americans are getting fed up with the far-left antics. People want safe neighborhoods, fair immigration laws, and
common sense
. If the Democrats can’t get it together, they’ll keep losing elections.
That’s what Dems have been doing dude, but Republicans have shot everything down:
Against protecting women from abuse
Against protecting women needing reproductive healthcare
Against lowering drug prices
Against stopping price gouging…
But it’s still Dem’s fault?
Nice.
@FondJerkyGreen1mo1MO
Dude, if you wanted to court republicans so much, why didn’t you just run as one. You are an absolute coward for scapegoating communities including our trans siblings due to election outcomes. Shame on you
Becoming more like the Christofascist party isnt the answer. Stop bringing a wet noodle to a gun fight. fight like them instead of the spineless Dem go along to get along. My momma taught me if they go low you kick them in the balls. Not go high or some other Kumbaya bull **** .
@CrummyOcelotLocalism1mo1MO
Suozzi is spot-on in recognizing that Democrats ceded ground on public safety and the border. This isn’t about giving up progressive values, it’s about how they’re framed. Republicans are winning the messaging war, and Democrats have to respond better.
Bull **** . Dems way better on economy and working class, all stats support this. but dems are also absolutely **** at messaging, and the right has created an impregnable info-bubble, evidenced by the fact that maga thinks tariffs are paid the other country.
@QuaintDeerDemocrat1mo1MO
We could have run Pete Buttigieg and Gavin Newsom on a ticket - they would have beat anybody the Republicans could have run. But our party will not allow two white males to run together. Even if they could elevate this country beyond any other people. That's why we lose.
@9YN67PF1mo1MO
Spot on. The average American, regardless of color, gender, or religion, cares about their paycheck, paying their bills, and the safety of their kids and themselves. The Democratic party stopped addressing these issues 8 years ago which is why they have been continuously losing votes. They are more concerned with minding everyone's business and kissing everyone's a**. The tactics and fear that they pushed backed in the 80s and 90s don't work anymore. Wake TF up, address the real concerns of the American people, or this trend is going to continue.
@QuirkyPolentaDemocrat1mo1MO
I disagree. Republicans failed us. Our institutions failed us. A bipartisan border bill was defeated by Trump so he would have a political issue to run on. Republicans have failed America, to remain in power.
@9YNP72P1mo1MO
The bill was defeated by congress. Not Trump. And the reason was because it was all full of pork spending. Not border.
@QuirkyTunaTranshumanist1mo1MO
phuck you, there is no going forward. we had to clean up the mess trump left first time. trump and republicans own america. dems are the only ones that offered solutions. republicans offered grievances. wages are up and inflation is down. dems did that
@@1876-Elbert1mo1MO
Stop falling for the propaganda. Biden's administration did nothing for the good of the people.
@Renaldo-MoonGreen 1mo1MO
Neither did Trump. Both parties are pieces of spit. Yet we have to sit and bite our tongue about it.
Oh please don’t act like this Election was normal. Demand recounts and have lawsuits ready for fraud. Trump, Elon and Speaker Johnson had a little secret (Trump bragged about it weeks ago)
@9Z9HNKC1mo1MO
Drugs are bad for you.
@Renaldo-MoonGreen 1mo1MO
20 million votes have not been counted and never will be.
And its not because the votes are fraud...
