Which political ideology do you most identify with?
Less regulation will hurt the public. Corporations will always choose to hurt the consumers if they…
It is never profitable for corporations to harm people, in a free market those that do die.
Companies like Philip Morris and RJ Reynolds spent millions on advertising and lobbying to maintain their market dominance, all while internal documents revealed that they were aware of the dangers of their products. They even targeted young people to ensure a steady stream of new customers. They were incredibly profitable while causing significant harm to their consumers. Even in a relatively free market, they thrived over a hundred years until regulations and public awareness campaigns finally caught up.

By your logic we should ban alcohol, pot, soda, any unhealthy food, a good bit of prescription drugs, because they are harmful and those people who makes those things benefit from your suffering. In reality, people choose to smoke cigarettes. I know many people who smoke and are well aware of the negative health effects that comes with it and they still smoke. People choose to smoke and that is their decision. Similar to alcohol. People enjoy consuming alcohol, we shouldnt take that choice away from people because someone else decided that drinking is bad for you.
