Of course it was disrespectful. They knew it was disrespectful. They wanted it to be disrespectful.

First let me say this was disgusting. Secondly, can you imagine if this would have been a skit / satire against Islam. Paris would be burning to the ground. Amusing that these performers feel OK to mock Christianity, Or Judaism but nothing else.

I thought the same thing, ask the folks at Charlie Hebdo how the Islamic sense of humor works.

It's not just conservative or Christian groups bothered by this ... it's also everyday people wondering why does drag culture and LBGTQ culture have to be shoved down our throats at every turn? Serious question ... why? It seems less about "tolerance" and more about control.

How would you feel if a deeply held belief or cultural symbol of yours was used in a performance meant to entertain but instead caused controversy?

How does the context of a performance (like the intent behind it or its setting) affect your opinion on whether it is offensive or acceptable?

Do you think the inclusion of drag queens and a scene resembling a religious painting in a public event like the Olympics is a form of art or an act of disrespect?

 @ISIDEWITHasked…2yrs2Y

Should public events like the Olympics strive to avoid any material that could be seen as offensive, or is it important to push boundaries and provoke thought?
