House Speaker Mike Johnson (R., La.) plans to bring separate bills funding Ukraine, Israel and Taiwan to the House floor, in a maneuver aimed at breaking a monthlong deadlock over a $95 billion foreign-aid package the Senate passed earlier this year.
Johnson briefed colleagues on the details of the bills in a closed-door meeting of House Republicans. He has faced intense pressure to pass legislation to help rearm Israel following an attack by Iran and fulfill his long-stalled pledge to further fund Ukraine.
He also plans a fourth bill that includes a proposal to use seized Russian assets to help pay for aid to Kyiv. The fourth bill also includes the House legislation that forces a sale or ban of TikTok in the U.S. The legislation won’t have any provisions related to immigration, according to Republicans leaving the meeting. Johnson said he hadn’t determined whether the four bills, if passed, would be sent separately or as a package to the Senate.
Ukraine would receive $48.43 billion in the package.
FYI Trump supports this.
GOP primary voters who supported Trump on the basis of a false belief that he was somehow against Ukraine funding have been epically duped. You guys owe Ron DeSantis and Nikki Haley an apology. Frankly, they probably would not have gotten away with this
We were never under any illusion that money to Zelensky was ever going to end. Nobody is voting for Trump based solely on his Ukraine policy. Desantis wouldn't have cut off aid either
@RadicalJimUnity2wks2W
You guys attacked other candidates for being Pro-Aid and said it was disqualifying.
So like everything, the wrong association or view on an issue is disqualifying...except for Trump.
@WittyLionPatriot2wks2W
This is ridiculous spin. You guys really don’t listen to Trump. You cherry pick sound bites in which you can spin ridiculous narratives out of context. And WTP know it. Get ready Trump will be your next president.
He backed Johnson in support of FISA, listen to mike Benz the primary target of FISA are the populists…there no5 after Trump this time because now they have a real anti establishment candidate to take on, Trump is not the bigger threat anymore they just want I to believe he his
@PacifiedRelishSocialist2wks2W
Quick question, which establishment Republican candidate would actually be against funding Ukraine? Seems like it doesn’t matter. The one thing I remember is there wasn’t a new conflict starting every 6 months when he was president. 1st time in my lifetime that happened.
@C1vilRightsWaspForward2wks2W
You can also blame the conservative media *** kissing complex, who refuse to ever ask Trump a single challenging question. You can also blame the Republican Party Establishment, who consolidated around Trump in the 2024 primary without ever pinning him down on key issues. Trump has spent the entire GOP primary season endlessly repeating the talking point that Ukraine war and the Israel war "never would've happened" under his watch, so as to evade articulating an actual policy position on these subjects. Well, now he's done so.
He refused to debate, he's almost entirely refused to submit to any challenging interviews, and all the GOP media complex has done is kiss his *** the entire time. So what the hell did you expect? After all, Trump is the one who started arming Ukraine in the first place -- a fact he went the entire 2024 primary campaign without ever being meaningfully pressed on.
I was one of the duped. I can’t believe it. I kept hoping he would end it and now we are merely headed to an endless war again. I am disappointed in myself.
@AmbitiousMackerelGreen2wks2W
he secret to “criticizing” Mr. Trump is to criticize a politician who holds the exact same views as Mr. Trump and hope that he gets the message.
Many such cases.

Should the decision to ban or not ban social media platforms like TikTok be tied to foreign aid packages?

Perspective plays a crucial role in resilience, growth, and self-awareness. It helps us to better understand situations from another's position and take into consideration other beliefs, experiences, and view points. This in turn reduces bias, judgement, and conflict
@9LKS4T4 2wks2W
If banning TikTok or any social media is tied to foreign aid, then clearly that foreign country is trying to hide something that the public would not approve of.
@ISIDEWITH2wks2W
Is it fair to prioritize foreign aid over domestic issues?
@9LKSL4MRepublican2wks2W
We should not be prioritizing foreign aid over domestic issues. It is unacceptable that we have put no money or attention towards homelessness or the border but spend billions of dollars on foreign issues. I’m not against foreign aid but we are currently prioritizing the wrong thing.
@9LKS64G2wks2W
Handle the issues at home first!

How do you feel about using seized assets from one country to support another?
@9LKS5TK2wks2W
I should feel that we shouldn't keep getting involved in wars that we arent involved in.
