Some insist it would go automatically to Kamala, but I doubt that. Could see 5-10 Dems running. Ambitious politicians with national political infrastructure usually don't give up opportunities

Gavin Newsom is already the "shadow" candidate with his eye on the prize. Ironically, he'd never choose Harris as a running mate.
I hope he is. Beltway types find him handsome & charming but regular people find him creepy, used car salesman Patrick Batemanesque.
Ain't no Latinos, Midwest Whites or Black Americans voting for that sleaze ball

Harris will aay she wishes to be AG and focus on gun violence and putting the gun manufacturers out of business, which is always an easy applause line for the donor class.

Nikki Haley could flip, especially given the fact that she’s still in the race thanks to Dem donors

My money is on Illinois Governor Pritzker.
He’ll be replaced at the Dem convention in Chicago, exactly as was done in 1968. There’s also likely to be chaos in the streets, exactly as in 1968.
At minimum Kamala has the desire if not the talent. And Newsom wants it and could bank on being relatively unknown to people who don't live in his hot mess. I'd say 10 is high but there are usually 5 throwaway nobodies every time. So maybe.

Seems like the window of opportunity is closed especially if 10 throw their hat in the ring
