I keep reading the claim that "Iran doesn't want war" like it's a truism. But what we've seen is that on Oct 7th, Iran-backed Hamas launched a large, surprise unprovoked massacre of Israeli civilians. Then Iran-backed Hizbollah began launching rockets into northern Israel. Then the Iran-backed Houthis began attacking civilian ships from various countries with missiles, rockets and drones. They also attacked the US navy. Before Iran-backed Hamas launched an unprovoked and large-scale surprise attack and massacred Israeli civilians in their homes, in the streets, at a music festival? And took hundreds of men, women and children hostage? You can't put the genie back into the bottle.
