Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy called on the House of Representatives to vote to give more aid to the embattled country, after the Senate passed a $95 billion foreign aid bill that included $60 billion for Ukraine earlier on Tuesday.
“I am grateful to every U.S. Senator who made a morally strong choice today. Such a choice matters right now, not just for Ukraine but for every nation whose independence is a target for Russian strikes, current and planned, including those planned for the coming years,” Zelenskyy said on X, formerly known as Twitter.
“The next step is a vote in the U.S. House of Representatives. We anticipate an equally strong moral choice and a decision that will work for the benefit of our shared security,” he added.
McConnell called on House Speaker Mike Johnson to allow a vote on assistance for Ukraine — adding that he wouldn’t be “so presumptuous as to tell him how to do it.”

Just an observation: My online and DC conservative movement friends are all vocally opposed to funding Ukraine. My offline conservative friends who are not political activists from church, neighbors, and the community all support helping Ukraine against the Russians.
What do your offline friends think about helping Ukraine but sticking our grandchildren with the tab? This is my gripe.

I think my point is that I can’t get to those other issues because I’m simply not willing to fund the foreign policy through borrowing. Or certainly not additional borrowing. I think there are merits on both sides of the policy question on what to do in Ukraine. I just never get to that because I have put a line in the sand. No more supplemental spending that doesn’t have offsets.

If you don’t want to borrow, you could suggest revenue enhancements. It’s a choice: fund Ukraine through taxes, through borrowing, or don’t fund them. GOP (& some Dems) won’t raise taxes for anything, Dems (& some GOP) won’t let Putin have Ukraine, so we are left with option B.

Since when is Zelensky an American or his opinion matter? This guy is out of his element. Lets back Ukraine but force a truce just months after they get the aid. Problem for Ukraine is Trump. He controls Johnson & many House R reps who wont vote for this aid nor a border bill.

stop sending money over seas until every united states citizen is housed, fed, and given medical aid. On the same note, there should be a massive emphasis to increase high paying domestic-based jobs.
I recommend house pass this bill. Ukraine’s security is our and our ally’s national security. America doesn’t leave an ally behind. Russia needs to cave, pull out of the northern region, and negotiate for Crimea.
