I wouldn’t be bothered to work as hard if I get paid the same as everyone else

Which is exactly the free market point – people won't work if they get paid the same for not working. That's one of the main things that makes socialism stupid and why it's always been a failure – it trusts fallen humanity to do what's in the best interests of society when that's against their personal interests. Mankind is inherently selfish – can't we agree? After all, socialists like yourself think corporations can't be trusted to govern themselves, meaning, in some degree, you agree with the proposition that mankind is inherently selfish, at least in the free market. What would exempt government from such tendencies? I am legitimately curious what the socialist excuse is.

Um… the person you’re talking to isn’t a socialist. They’re just very authoritarian center.

This is a public thing, alright – socialists might see it. The person may not be all-out socialist, but certainly he's an authoritarian, and libertarian economics = free market economics

And you mistake them for a socialist multiple times. Remember, socialism is not “when the government does stuff”.

It would finally allow me a say in the decisions that directly apply to me and my workplace and my community. I would be infinitely more motivated if I had actual control rather than just living and working at the behest of others.
