We need to recognize that Israel and Palestine are two separate, sovereign nations whose people have a shared history, even with the conflict happening today. Instead of recognizing Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, we should promote peace between them by having a shared capital of two states with a shared history. Israel was formed under conditions unlike other states.
