How do you think traditional family structures impact the stability of society?

 @9HBPMYSLibertarian from Washington  answered…2yrs2Y

The traditional family structure is very important for the stability of society because it creates balance.

 @9H8NNRQ from Indiana  answered…2yrs2Y

"Traditional family structures" are not making lifestyles more happy, every family structure should be socially accepted in America, no matter the circumstances.

"Traditional family structures" are not making lifestyles more happy, every family structure, within reason, should be socially accepted in America, no matter the circumstances.

 @9HBQ5T2 from Virginia  answered…2yrs2Y

Everyone should have support as a family no matter what the surbcumstances are and what their life style is. Everyone should be treated equally.

 @9H9PXJHRepublicanfrom Guam  answered…2yrs2Y

The family structure has a huge impact on the stability of our society, people need their family as a support system.

How does nostalgia for past traditions influence your preferences or behavior in the present?

 @9KXWXJ4 from Florida  answered…2yrs2Y

Traditions aren’t for government. We should be evolving and moving forward based off of experiences not traditions

 @9KXWCGH from Texas  answered…2yrs2Y

I believe that if things aren’t broken, you shouldn’t try to fix it. Some things don’t need change. I believe that the country has turn away from traditions that benefitted the country greatly.

Do you think maintaining traditional holidays in their original form is important, or should they evolve with society?

 @9KXWKKD from Georgia  answered…2yrs2Y

I think keeping holidays how they are originally is very important, because i do not want to partake in lgtbq christmas

 @9KYW3SXSocialist from Nebraska  disagreed…2yrs2Y

The Christmas we celebrate now doesn't resemble its original form at all. If all you care about is LGBTQ people, you don't care about tradition or the religious aspect of Christmas. You just want an excuse to hate gay and trans people. If you really want a more traditional and spiritual Christmas, you should be against the disgusting over-commercialization of Christmas, not the fact that sometimes queer people want to celebrate it too.

 @9KXWRXBRepublican from Georgia  answered…2yrs2Y

Traditional holidays can be celebrated however person celebrating wants.

 @9KZL6YJ from Kentucky  agreed…2yrs2Y

Do you think maintaining traditional holidays in their original form is important, or should they evolve with society? i think that its a a persons business if they want to do that.

 @9KXWZMZ from Connecticut  answered…2yrs2Y

Depending on the holiday, it should vary on whether to maintian its orginal form or evolving to meet current society standards.

 @9KZMDR2 from Nebraska  disagreed…2yrs2Y

It wouldn't be considered a holiday because a holiday is born through tradition and develops culture.

How do you think the preservation of language is connected to maintaining cultural traditions?

 @9L2LLYYRepublican from Iowa  answered…2yrs2Y

it just keeps that hint of a culture around that will interest people into learning more about the culture

 @9L2M8GSDemocratfrom Louisiana  answered…2yrs2Y

The United States have no official language, so in short terms yes, it's important for other people to preservate their culture but as well it's important to know how to move in a country where the majority speaks one language

 @9L2LG7L from Maryland  answered…2yrs2Y

 @9L2LRTK from Illinois  answered…2yrs2Y

Preserving languages from different cultures allows for more diversity and inclusion, allowing for it to be passed down from generation to generation; without them, cultures can slowly lose the significance that language within cultures holds as it's not being passed down.

How do you interpret the saying 'respect your elders,' and is it relevant in today's world?

 @9J25XB6 from Florida  answered…2yrs2Y

Yes they have a lot to teach but respect is a mutual thing you get what you give so sometimes you do what you must.

 @9J25644Republican from Michigan  answered…2yrs2Y

It is very relevant they should be taught with respect

 @9J29QMT from California  disagreed…2yrs2Y

I think that it's important to instill a sense of right and wrong in younger generations. Yes, everyone deserves respect ONCE they earn it. Respect isn't given and if an elder disrespects or harms you, then giving them respect isn't something you are obligated to do. It's important for others to feel comfortable stating their opinions and not feel offended or attacked by doing so.

 @9J258BQ from Louisiana  answered…2yrs2Y

It is relevant, as most elderly people are wise and kind, although those same elders should be taught the new ways of today through family.

 @9J279RVProgressive from Florida  disagreed…2yrs2Y

I agree with them being taught the new ways of today through family. However, most elderly people as of 2024 are bigoted, racist, and stuck in their ways of the past as it was 'acceptable' in the time. We should not be babying these ADULTS, that are making it seem like their age has given them wisdom and made them kind. Many only know about their time and nothing else beyond that, and many old people of today will spit, bite, or hit you if you do something they don't like and attempt to get away with it because they are old and you should respect them. Respect is a two way street, and you cannot earn it by being old and what you think is kind, especially if you think that the old ways when you were a child is still acceptable.

 @9J257C4 from Nebraska  answered…2yrs2Y

They should be treated with respect since they've lived their life and have learned from their many mistakes. That being said it's less of respect more just be nice and judge them based on you own thoughts.

When has respecting an elder's advice led you to make a choice you wouldn't have made on your own, and what was the outcome?

 @9JSZF8SIndependent from Illinois  answered…2yrs2Y

The outcome was me thinking about how there are two sides to every problem and that both sides have good points, while both have points that are opposite of each other which will lead one side or another to say it is "bad". But both sides are influenced by a person's upbringing and their knowledge of subjects.

 @9JLCV99 from Texas  answered…2yrs2Y

Although I believe that upholding things such as family and religion is valuable, I also believe that the separation of church and state should be honored. The beauty of living in a free country ruled by the people is that we don't all have to do and believe the same things. We're given the liberty to live our lives differently as long as we're not harming another's life, liberty or property. I don't think it is the right of the government to impose "traditional values" on citizens. Everyone has different values and ways of living. Historically, I think of heroes as people who stood up for minority groups, looked out for the working class people, and created social programs to better society. Imposing their own values on society does not make historical figures heroic.

 @9HNMJ86 from Delaware  answered…2yrs2Y

Progressive change and tradition should be separate. We should value progressive change than tradition. Tradition is a part of culture but progressive change is what makes us evolve from that. Sometimes tradition can go against our modern moral values And we should learn how to adapt that tradition to change.

How might the increasing pace of technological innovation challenge traditional ways of learning and education?

 @9L2MV3KIndependent from Kentucky  answered…2yrs2Y

Increasing the pace of technological innovation might disenfranchise kids or adults who work less efficiently or do not have the know how with unique technology. Virtual learning fostered laziness, and also challenged kids with ADHD or mental illness to focus. The lack of social interaction also fails to catch kid's attention, as many may learn in an interactive or hands-on and communicative environment.

 @9L2MB3KRepublicananswered…2yrs2Y

It might make us have to evolve our ways into a new path of learning. We may need to even change some of our ways of teaching.
