How do you reconcile the need for both competition and cooperation in a society striving for fairness?

 @9KG2BBPRepublican from New Mexico  answered…1yr1Y

Social Justice should not influence policy in any way shape or form.

 @9KG62KP from Arizona  disagreed…1yr1Y

When you are a part of a community, it is your responsibility to serve it. You are not serving your community by ignoring or undercutting anyone within the community. Some members will have fewer opportunities due to disability and ethnic background etc., and these individuals deserve to be lifted up and supported by their community as much as anyone else. This is everyone's responsibility, as being a part of a community has perks that must be enjoyed by all within it.

 @9KG2GDQ from New Mexico  answered…1yr1Y

 @9KG2H35 from Utah  answered…1yr1Y

I think a little friendly competition is good for society but It should be a reason to divide use, we are all Americans afterall

 @ISIDEWITHasked…1yr1Y

If you could create a new school club dedicated to social issues, what would it focus on and why?

 @9KZPLDB from Wisconsin  answered…1yr1Y

It would focus on how to change the importance of unimportant topics and get people to stop worrying about the minor stupid *** **** and focus on our people's well being and forget the stupid *** **** .

 @9L2QLYB from California  agreed…1yr1Y

Can you provide further arguments, perspective, or relevant statistics to strengthen the reasoning and persuasiveness of this answer?

 @9L2MJ68 from California  disagreed…1yr1Y

I feel like people care about things that are unnecessary and they forgot about the things that are actually important.

 @9KZNXCL from Pennsylvania  answered…1yr1Y

I would make it discussing problems as not good or bad but as the actual values because many times we are biased to look at something as good and bad without actually looking at the true meaning of each of the points.

 @9KZQ5ZS from New York  answered…1yr1Y

I would create a club that focus on human rights making the world a better place with the understanding of another human and their rights.

Why do you think some groups in society are underrepresented in certain professions or roles?

 @9J7GBCNPeace and Freedom from Illinois  answered…1yr1Y

I think some people are not being noticed because some people are discriminating against them and are making it impossible for people to get jobs.

 @9J7FXNV from Kansas  answered…1yr1Y

Lack of wanting to and some jobs aren’t appealing to certain demographics of people

 @9J7G453 from North Carolina  answered…1yr1Y

maybe because people don't believe they are professional or even just because people ignore the topic even tho it may be important

When you've felt misunderstood or judged, what could have been done differently to foster inclusion?

 @9KSNW33 from New York  answered…1yr1Y

People becoming more accepting to non gender conforming people.

  @jsimicConstitution from Texas  disagreed…7mos7MO

Acceptance to insanity doesn't validate the insanity.

There are 2 genders/sexes and an infinite number of PERSONALITIES.

Telling society that you're a different kind of person is nothing new.

Telling society that you're a different kind of species is radical.

Telling society that you must use random and arbitrary pronouns or they are committing genocide is emotional blackmail.

The entire movement is an exercise in nihilistic narcissism of the emotionally unstable.

 @9KSNBLDIndependent from Pennsylvania  answered…1yr1Y

People could have had better education where they learned about socialism justice.

  @jsimicConstitution from Texas  disagreed…7mos7MO

socialism justice.

Justice is justice.

Racial justice is racist.

Social justice is preferential treatment towards preferred groups.

Climate justice is ecoterrorism.

Justice needs no adjectives.

Can there be true equality when people start from different places in life due to their backgrounds?

 @9HF3DLF from Idaho  answered…1yr1Y

Yes. I grew up in a home without heating or air conditioning. We often didn't have running water. Our house was falling apart. So I started in what you could call 'a different place.' But now I am more wealthy than I could have imagined at this point of my life. God has blessed me financially as I've worked hard through multiple jobs. Once I worked 12 hour shifts every day. But through smart choices, taking charge of my education, and working hard, I no longer have to work.
Regardless of race or gender, there is an equality of opportunity in the USA. If you want to make something of yourself, you can.

 @9HF3DXK from California  answered…1yr1Y

If they all have the same goal in mind then absolutely. It’s just a matter of how and how much determination is willing to go into the goal.

When has standing up for what you believe in brought you into conflict with friends or family?

 @9JQL84W  from Utah  answered…1yr1Y

On a discord server in 2020 when I was an idiot, didn't know much about politics and I recited my parent's beliefs. Also for standing up for vaccines against my friend who is an anti-vaxxer, he got angry at me and we are chilling now but he really does not believe a vaccine works for covid. I understand how they work because I did a lot of research on Covid and vaccines in general, but he didn't care about learning about them.

 @9JQKRHR from Maryland  answered…1yr1Y

 @ISIDEWITHasked…1yr1Y

Have you seen someone's opportunities limited by their background; what did that teach you about fairness?

 @9HV64NKSocialist  from North Carolina  answered…1yr1Y

Yes. I believe black people have been limited today by the history of slavery, discrimination, segregation, and violence in America. Although racial discrimination was technically outlawed in the 1970s in NC (supposed to be 60s but NC was slow), the impacts from that discrimination live on with some of those who are alive today who have experienced it. They say it takes at least three generations to break cycles of trauma, influence culture, and form new habits. It will take at least three generations born after the time of the legal end of racial discrimination to overcome the impacts, viewpoints, and negative outcomes from the racism that our community has endured. We will not have a chance at true equity until the babies of the millennial generation come into adulthood, who have experienced true equity in opportunity.

 @ISIDEWITHasked…1yr1Y

In what ways do you believe we can create a society where everyone has equal opportunities?

 @9HNC6D4 from New Jersey  answered…1yr1Y

We must create a society where people's starting point has no effect on their journey. Meaning if one is born in a poor household or rich, different heritage or not, race difference or not, family issues or not everyone should have the same opportunity to excel.
