Affirmative Action continues to protect people from continued discrimination as much as possible, and taking it away pretends that racism is not still prevalent just as it was when Affirmative Action was first put into place.

Affirmative Action programs only strengthen racism. The idea that these programs should use race as a basis of deciding who should receive favorable treatment promotes the idea that racial differences actually are significant and affect a person's abilities, which goes completely against the idea of racial equality. In addition, Affirmative Action forces identity-based employment rather than merit-based employment, which harms the quality of the consumer's experience, and on a larger scale, the economy. This could lead to even deeper racism because it can create the subconscious impression that white males are more skilled than females and people of color. Affirmative Action isn't really a way of solving the problem; it only shovels gunpowder onto the fire in hopes of concealing it.

Right now minority groups don't receive equal treatment even though everyone is equal. That means we have to do something about it.

Affirmative Action is not the solution to this problem. Affirmative Action programs will only deepen racism because it creates the subconscious impression that white males are the most skilled out of all groups because they will be the group with the highest standards for merit-based employment while other groups rely on their social background to carry them to employment. Equality cannot be created through means of discrimination.

Treating everyone the same should not be a challenge, the background of people's childhood should not define how you treat them, instead it should be based off the person they are now.

I think all of us agree on that; however, the problem with Affirmative Action is that it goes against that very principle. Affirmative Action promotes employment based on race and gender rather than employment based on merit.

I don't believe forcing payment to others would go well, if it is just given then nothing is learned.
