Take a look at the wealth gap chart in the United States. It's worse than France before the french revolution. The rich have exponentially more wealth.

Paying taxes is not just a responsibility; it's a commitment to our community. Taxes are the foundation that allows us to provide crucial services and support for those in need, ensuring that everyone has access to education, healthcare, and essential infrastructure. By contributing, we invest in a stronger, more equitable society where everyone can thrive. Together, we can create a better future for all.

 @BC8H5PP from Kansas  agreed…2mos2MO

A strong “Yes” argument for taxes is that they fund essential services and support the economy. In the U.S., about 40% of federal revenue comes from income taxes, which helps pay for schools, roads, and emergency services. Compared to other developed countries, the U.S. collects relatively low taxes as a share of its economy, meaning less funding for public programs. Also, government investments funded by taxes—like infrastructure—can boost economic growth and create jobs.

Millions of Americans have jobs that should allow them to live comfortably, but with taxes being so high they are stuck living check to check. It is more fair if the rich get taxed more since they are making more money, they are able to contribute more than the average person.

This is grounded in evidence showing us that the tax revenue is essential for economic stability, public infrastructure, and reducing inequality.

Roads, schools, emergency services, clean water systems, and public health infrastructure cannot be built or maintained by private citizens acting individually. Without taxes, these systems collapse.

I have a yes position on taxes? Who said that? Certainly was not me. Sounds like you are putting words in my mouth.

In New Jersey, the top marginal tax rate was raised by 2% and not only did business owners stay but New Jersey was able to fund more of its social programs.

 @B9RZB27 from California  agreed…4mos4MO

The top 10% of income earners have around half the wealth in the country. A slight increase in tax rates for high income individuals could greatly increase funding to necessary social services and programmes.

If the wealthy gets taxed more heavily it helps the wealth become more balanced and helps the poor get out of poverty.
