Drones are unmanned aerial vehicles deployed by U.S. defense and intelligence agencies to collect data and strike suspected enemy targets. The first known U.S. strike was the 2002 killing of al-Qaeda operative Qaed Salim Sinan al-Harethi in Yemen. Between 2022 and 2020 the U.S. killed between 9,000 and 18,000 enemy combatants and 900-2200 civilians with drone strikes. Opponents of drone strikes have long contended strikes that kill civilians essentially serve as a recruiting poster for terrorist groups. In 2010, a man named Faisal Shahzad tried and failed to bomb Times Square in New York City. Later, Shahzad cited US drone strikes as his motivation for the failed bombing. Proponents of drone strikes argue that they can kill high value w=enemy targets without putting soldiers into combat.

It should mainly be used for intelligence, but may be used to kill suspected terrists if we have undeniable proof and in a way that minizes as much civilian casualties as possible (with the countries permission if possible)
@9V785GY8mos8MO
Yes, but only if there are no innocent casualties. I'm fine with killing terrorists, but killing innocent civilians is not good.
@9MGYS5212mos12MO
Only to gain intelligence and if those countries approve. And in the event that non-allied countries deny our surveillance, do so anyway with probable cause.
@7ZGWLJF 1yr1Y
Yes, has long as they have proof that they are terrorists and that there are no civilians nearby when killing terrorist to prevent civilian casualties.
@9LMDF6S1yr1Y
I think yes only with permission from the country in question, and not to kill suspected terrorists only to gather intelligence
@9L538S41yr1Y
No, the government should focus on reducing the national debt & deficit before getting too deeply involved & invested in counterterrorism
@9KTGNG91yr1Y
Only to gather intelligence. If we want to kill suspected terrorists we must get approval from the country in question.
yes to gain intelligence but no action should be taken until proven because there is always chance of starting unnecessary issues within our different countries
@9JTFCF91yr1Y
No, suspected terrorists are not confirmed terrorists. Additionally, we should not be operating outside our country like that.
I think that we should be able to do something but not go over there with drones because if they were to find out then they could do the same.
@9HT2NCY1yr1Y
yes but only with said countries permission and only to gain intelligence and strike known terrorists in a safe are, and precautions for minimal collateral are taken
@9FPZVY92yrs2Y
Yes, with permission from the foreign country and authorization from Congress (letter of marque or declaration of war)
@9F9RBBK2yrs2Y
Collateral damage needs to be avoided at all costs as to avoid causing further distrust for the US. The drones should be able to kill terrorists, but collateral must be considered before doing so, and if the danger of letting the terrorist go is greater than the danger of trying to kill the terrorist on our own terms, then the drone should kill the terrorist.
@9DCSVZT 2yrs2Y
Yes, but we should only kill terrorists if we're absolutely sure that they plan on attacking our country.
@9RNHW6P10mos10MO
Yes, but only to gather intelligence and if the suspected terrorists are confirmed beyond a shadow of a doubt.
@9NMVK6D 11mos11MO
No, only to gather intelligence in authorized airspace, except when the US has declared war on the nation whose airspace is being intruded.
@96M5HSF3yrs3Y
Yes, however, only when the terrorist is confirmed and preferably no civilian casualties.
@96LPTL23yrs3Y
No, even terrorists need privacy.
@95XKL3Q3yrs3Y
Yes and no, depends on the situation
@95RRW5V3yrs3Y
Yes to gain intelligence, No to *suspected* terrorists. Yes to *known* terrorists.
@95PWQKG3yrs3Y
Yes, but under the correct circumstances.
@939DXST3yrs3Y
Not suspected, but if they can prove theyre plotting something absoloutly.
@936J7393yrs3Y
No, the U.S. has no business doing this in other countries.
@92Z2MM7Republican3yrs3Y
Yes, given that the drone is programmed to kill the terrorist and not any innocent bystanders
@92RPC2T3yrs3Y
Yes, given that the drone is programmed to kill the suspected terrorist and not innocent bystanders
@92PFQJZ3yrs3Y
Yes, given that the drone is only programmed to kill the terrorist and nobody else
@8ZQJ74Z3yrs3Y
I think yes but asking permission from the country is risky, they could notify the suspected terrorist the U.S would be after. I think yes but if we notify a country we need to be sure we can trust the nation.
@8ZDJ95DConstitution3yrs3Y
Yes, but they need to be fully sure of what is happening and what may happen if they do kill a suspected terrorist.
@8YYMMNH3yrs3Y
No, only to to gather information and only for intelligence, which would have to be readily made available to any court of law upon trial
@8Y85Q9M3yrs3Y
Yes surveillance but no killing
@8X2SGQFIndependent4yrs4Y
yes, but only if those suspected of terrorism have 90% factual evidence pointing to them being responsible
@8WQ5FGY4yrs4Y
No, the US military should be disbanded.
@8VXCPRLIndependent4yrs4Y
Only to gather intelligence, but once they have Congressional support, then they may attack and/or assasinate
@8VLPLZK4yrs4Y
Yes, but only after they have gathered sufficient intelligence.
@8TQBJ524yrs4Y
No, only to gather intelligence for the country in question.
@8SL9VYP4yrs4Y
Yes, but only when a CONFIRMED terrorists is a THREAT to our country, and is threatening to attack our country, any thing other wise should not be our business.
@8PS483D4yrs4Y
Yes, but only if there is probable cause to existence of danger in said area.
@8PJS8XR4yrs4Y
Yes, it only if the president has declared a formal action or congress declared war. Otherwise drones should be used for intelligence gathering only when cooperation with local states has proved stalled.
@8PCNVYB4yrs4Y
Yes, but only with the approval of congress, the United Nations, and the country in question
Yes, but only with the permission of Congress and the United Nations
Yes, but only with the permission of Congress and the United Nations.
@LongLiveGenZGreen5yrs5Y
Yes, but only with undeniable proof that they are a terrorist
@8NRQNRK5yrs5Y
Yes, during times of war or following terrorist threats or attacks
@8JMKZ275yrs5Y
No, unless we have permission from the country in question and even then only to gather intelligence.
@8DBSNG25yrs5Y
To gain intelligence but not to kill suspected terrorists
@9CNTNVW2yrs2Y
Only if a court finds it necessary
I'd prefer to isolate then handle the threat. Innocent till found guilty
@98J3NYT2yrs2Y
No, that is the most stupid question I possibly have ever read
@976JHGD3yrs3Y
Only if it is known that the target is a terrorist with confirmed ties to groups planning to attack the U.S.
If their is evidence of terrorism against us, then yes however if it is just suspected and for intelligence for no reason, then no.
@92D7T7Y3yrs3Y
Yes, provided it is programmed to kill the terrorists and not bystanders
@8HNG5L6Independent5yrs5Y
Yes, but only kill if the terrorist is definitely guilty.
@8ZGZ4DSLibertarian3yrs3Y
I think only if they are 100 percent sure they terroists planning somthing
