GMO labels need to be provided to give consumers the option depending on their own needs. In other words, this information should be disclosed as apart of the nutritional value of our food.

 @9GJS9LX  from Washington  agreed…1yr1Y

Just so we know what we’re purchasing and so nobody can cry around later if something happens to their health or body. Bc they knew wtf they was buying

 @9GJSPV7Republican from Texas  agreed…1yr1Y

Yes, I agree. We should be able to know what we are eating, our children are eating and overall putting in our bodies.

 @9GJSWM9 from Connecticut  agreed…1yr1Y

I agree entirely. I would even take this a step further by making it mandatory for all food suppliers to include warning labels on any ingredients linked to health issues(titanium dioxide, red 40, etc) excluding general ingredients such as salt, sugar, etc

 @9GJTCQV from Texas  agreed…1yr1Y

GMO labels need to be shown because even if you have products using ingredients you are okay with, some others may not be.

 @9FC45H7  from Utah  agreed…1yr1Y

Food effects our bodies and minds. We need to ban the same products/chemicals as they do in most other nations.

 @9FBTKC4 from Missouri  agreed…1yr1Y

When there are GMO labels on fruits and vegetables then they are letting people know that they are putting themselves at risk of consuming possibly toxic pesticides. It is good to let them know what they are buying to eat.

 @9ST7HGX from Texas  commented…2mos2MO

GMOs are not pesticides. I agree that it is important to let people know what they are consuming, but it's on the consumer to understand what a GMO is.

 @9FB8LPGfrom Virgin Islands  agreed…1yr1Y

While I absolutely see how much such a technology can be used to make more nutritious and healthy food, and I would love for food to be made to need the use of less pesticides and growth fertilizers, but at the same time the government, both left and right, have shown that they are more than willing to sell out our food production and basically poison and make us addicted to unhealthy foods, and because of that I genuinely believe that it would ultimately be used by the political elites for neferious porpuses, and because of that it would also be better to be clear what has and doesn't have GMO crops in it.

 @9F9T97CDemocrat from Georgia  agreed…1yr1Y

Being informed about which products are GMO, enables people to prevent themselves from consuming products that could later on be harmful to their health

 @9F7TBBW from New Jersey  agreed…1yr1Y

If you want to eat real meat instead of genetically modified meat, then you must have a GMO label if what you are eating is GMO on what you are eating.

 @9GJBGHZRepublican  from North Carolina  agreed…1yr1Y

I know and hear a lot of people saying that the food we eat has chemicals that are not so god for us to consume. Personally I feel like it’s half bake, from back then food was delicious and put fat on us (mainly school foods until Michelle Obama ruined it for us) but foods outside of schools especially fast foods are still good. To sum up things yes I do believe the the food should have GMO labels because half of the people I know think they put thing into there food, not all the time but sometimes.

 @9GJCKCT from Texas  agreed…1yr1Y

yes gmo labels should be added to food labels so people can be well informed on what theyre putting into their bodies

 @9GRG3BR from Mississippi  agreed…1yr1Y

They need labels, because people have the right to know what they are putting into their bodies, in case they are putting chemicals from a Genetically Modified Food that could possibly harm them if allergic, etc.

 @9FTD6SJIndependent  from Idaho  agreed…1yr1Y

What this means is instead of increasing the amount of food produced and decreasing world hunger it can have the opposite effect. Killing the other crops around them thereby increasing overall need for food in that area.

 @9FV7D64 from Arkansas  agreed…1yr1Y

I agree with this to a point. Having plants and crops being genetically modified can affect the crops around them, but having it being put on the label can cause people to be more aware of what they're eating.

 @9FV7R9J from California  agreed…1yr1Y

I disagree because GMO crops can be lessened over time and substituted at the same time they're being removed. Like a replacement type of situation.

 @9GL7QSS from Florida  agreed…1yr1Y

Transparency with consumers on what they are purchasing to ingest is very important. Each individual is okay with different things and understanding what you consume is important.

 @9GKQPH3 from Nevada  agreed…1yr1Y

For people who have allergies to GMO foods, labeling helps avoid accidental consumption. Some people want to avoid eating food with GMOs and 80% of processed food contains them nowadays, labeling makes it easy to pick what products don't have them.

 @9GRFVW7from Guam  agreed…1yr1Y

Consumers have a right to know what they eat, otherwise the whole food industry will be under a cloud of suspicion.

 @9GFT96Y from Michigan  agreed…1yr1Y

The article "GE Food and Your Health" states that, "Scientists found that the rats consuming genetically altered potatoes showed significant detriment effects on organ development, body metabolism, and immune function." The article also says that 23 leading scientists approved of the results and confirmed they were valid.

 @9GL6CXWDemocrat from Ohio  agreed…1yr1Y

They should be because what if I don't want to eat something "lab made" or "genetically modified" for my own sake and well being? I might just want to eat what's natural and organic and I want to be the one to control whether or not I do.

 @9FMKN6X from Virginia  agreed…1yr1Y

It isn't a good feeling when you don't know what exactly it is that you are eating. Just a simple warning is enough to let us know where that food came from but maybe put a qr code to a website to show exactly what is it so that it doesn't have to be printed on every single lable

 @9FL85TY from Alabama  agreed…1yr1Y

GMO labels would make it easier for people trying to live healthier lives to grocery shop. The stigma may encourage cooperations to use natural instead of modifying things to be better.

 @9FSLVKQagreed…1yr1Y

I think that bred crop are getting more advanced and people need to know what they are eating now. I also think that people care about what's going to their body now more than ever. I don't think that its that hard to but labels on things. It might suck but some people care.

 @9FPJXRV from Ohio  agreed…1yr1Y

About half of U.S. adults (51%) think GMOs are worse for people's health than foods with no genetically modified ingredients, while 41% say GM foods have a neutral effect on health. so giving context to what is gmo on the label would give more trust in the industry. like even gust saying what ingredient was genetically modified would be more understandible than just claiming its ordinary food.

 @9FPGHDX from California  agreed…1yr1Y

Food affects our health, mind, and body. A GMO food can cause an extreme effect to some and worst case possible, it can start a deadly virus if there was anything to happen to our bodies through "lab experiments".

 @9FMGRSL from Missouri  agreed…1yr1Y

do you even know what GMO stands for because its terrible and i dont know why you would want it anyway.

 @9G2RKH4 from Oklahoma  agreed…1yr1Y

Consumers should know what food they are eating and what unnaturally occurring procedures have been done to the food.

 @9GHYWD7Independent from Minnesota  agreed…1yr1Y

It's basic health information. Everyone is entitled to it, you're buying and eating it so you should know whats in it.

 @9FZ7K69 from Ohio  agreed…1yr1Y

You are in the right to want to know whats in your food, these labels are important as they provide neccasary details about what we eat.

 @9FNVSX8 from California  agreed…1yr1Y

GMO's do help us in a lot of ways but there are still some gray areas where it could cause harm to us so like any label we should fully know what we are eating

 @9FLYD9X from Idaho  agreed…1yr1Y

When buying a GMO food, you should have the right to be able to see how it was made and if GMOs were involved.

 @9FSPVBQ from Louisiana  agreed…1yr1Y

An example of how GMO labeling can be less harmful, could be a person being allergic to a chemical that's often used in agriculture, and by labeling the chemical, it can prevent any harm that could be done to the consumer.

 @9FRTNHFagreed…1yr1Y

Some people might think that people need to know what is one the GMO labels but some people do not want to know what is on them.

 @9GBTXZRfrom Pennsylvania  agreed…1yr1Y

I think if your food is genetically mutated you have the right to know because that is going into your body and personally i would like it if I knew what was going in my body.

 @9G84457agreed…1yr1Y

Obesity levels are higher than they've ever been. People are either dying from lack of food, or overconsumption of food. but nowadays, people are dying more from obesity. In addition, these foods provide little nutritional value. At least people will know what they're putting in their bodies so they can be more mindful and make their decisions with that in mind.

 @9F7FM84Independent from Michigan  agreed…1yr1Y

If you would prefer to eat real meat and not meat that’s genetically modified you should have the right to know if it’s natural or genetically modified/engineered.

 @9G6YFTQ from Nebraska  agreed…1yr1Y

GMO labels will show the consumers what they are consuming/using and they will feel safer about what they consume.

Hunger is one of the greatest global challenges of the 21st century. Despite some improvements within the last two decades, global hunger is again on the rise, with 2016 data indicating that more than 800 million people around the world suffer from malnutrition.

 @9FT2W2M from Utah  disagreed…1yr1Y

Every food that we eat now has been genetically modified somehow- dogs and cats are genetically modified. GMO is not an inherently harmful thing.

 @9FNMJTY from Pennsylvania  agreed…1yr1Y

Many consumers are misinformed about GM foods and will choose not to buy them if they are labelled – the label will be misinterpreted as a warning and would put this industry at an unfair disadvantage. Response: Labelling is a critical way to inform consumers about GM foods.

 @9FN55SF from Missouri  agreed…1yr1Y

As long as you say they are there and then people care informed and if they buy it it’s on them for whatever they want or complain about

 @9FM8KTQ from Illinois  agreed…1yr1Y

Simply put labels can give clarity to the people, and methods that some consider more dangerous should be separated from ones people consider natural.

 @9FRKNGLSocialist from Virginia  disagreed…1yr1Y

Humans have been genetically modifying their food for thousands of years in an attempt to make their crops more reliable and bountiful, a pop tart and an apple are equally modified.

 @9FQPCTF from California  disagreed…1yr1Y

It isn't proven that GMOs are bad or dangerous, and they have helped us come a long way in terms of agriculture. However, many people do not trust these statistics, and by putting GMO labels on products, buyers will likely steer away from them.

 @9FLZZ3XDemocrat from Nevada  agreed…1yr1Y

Food effects our bodies and minds. We need to ban the same products/chemicals as they do in most other nations.

 @9FPBVG4 from California  agreed…1yr1Y

Stats show some people are scared of GMO products because of how unnatural they look so putting GMO labels on certain ones that are GMO and ones that aren't would calm their minds about it

 @9FNRH6W from Virginia  agreed…1yr1Y

The results of most studies with GM foods indicate that they may cause some common toxic effects such as hepatic, pancreatic, renal, or reproductive effects and may alter the hematological, biochemical, and immunologic parameters.

 @9FNYFQ9 from California  agreed…1yr1Y

GMO's have been tested and from statistics shows that GMO's have been beneficial to people and increased health in people.

 @9GSHSY2 from California  agreed…1yr1Y

I think that people need money to get food so they need jobs to earn money and to buy food for them to not get hungry.

 @9G3WVRS from Illinois  agreed…1yr1Y

If it even needs to be a question on if American needs to tell you what chemicals they are putting in the food you eat that should tell you what you need to know

 @9GMLRZ7agreed…1yr1Y

Its just important to know what you are consuming especially since it had been modified in a way which i dont know

 @9G93HMP from Georgia  agreed…1yr1Y

GMOs is easily accessible and don't require the labor of growing and harvesting food, which makes it more affordable to provide large sums of food.

 @9GJRFL2 from Arizona  agreed…1yr1Y

The thousands that are dying from cancer and other diseases from products that were said to be safe just a decade ago.

 @9FLSTNK from Texas  agreed…1yr1Y

Naturalists do not want GMO's in their foods they want healthy naturally grown foods to go into their bodies.

 @9FLSXYD from Texas  disagreed…1yr1Y

no, the chemicals that you put on the lant will alter how thry orionaly were made to be. this could cause sickesses and unknown reactons to some people.

 @9FLPZWS from Georgia  disagreed…1yr1Y

The stigma on GMO is stupid due to the fact that every single domesticated crop and animal is technically genetically modified through the hundreds to thousands of years of selective breeding.

 @9FTVFCQ from Minnesota  disagreed…1yr1Y

people tend to be afraid of what they don't know, and unfortunately, not many people look into the science of GMO foods. so it creates unjust bias against GMOs because people aren't properly educated

 @9FLLYHFIndependent from Colorado  disagreed…1yr1Y

Through the genetic breeding programs that have been used through out history it would be hard to go back to no GMO’s. Without GMO’s we would see raised prices of goods due to susceptibility to disease and weather damage. In the long run it would hurt lower income families with the price raise in good, healthy, unprocessed foods.

 @9FJB6H7 from Texas  disagreed…1yr1Y

No, because genetically modified organisms have been naturally happening around the world for generations making everything inherently a GMO so it is pointless to put this down.

 @9GRJSCXfrom Guam  agreed…1yr1Y

There's no evidence supporting the cleanliness and health rates of GMOs, and all natural crops and products can presumably be better for health.

 @9FSQJN2 from California  agreed…1yr1Y

I do not have a stance on whether or not we should use GMO's. I believe both options should be available and you can spend your money how you want.

 @9FYJZNY from Massachusetts  disagreed…1yr1Y

GMOs have been used for thousands of years to create crops that best fit our society's needs, GMO as a label creates an unnecessary scare on people that their food is not 'natural'.

 @9FW7HQV from Illinois  disagreed…1yr1Y

Labeling food that has GMO ingredients has become a very controversial and heated topic in todays society. Especially with more people wanting to go organic and wanting to be more careful about what they eat.

 @9GL992T from Oklahoma  agreed…1yr1Y

Americans should be allowed to know exactly how their food was made, where it came from and what is in it. There should be no censorship on a label for a product that we are ingesting.

 @9GH3GKG from Ohio  agreed…1yr1Y

While GMO's aren't a naturally occuring organism that comes purely from nature, there is nothing about them that causes them to be unsafe or dangerous for us to eat. If you don't like GMO's that much, then grow your own food.

 @9GM9M3S from Connecticut  agreed…1yr1Y

I think that all products sold in the US containing harmful GMO's should be banned and companies that are responsible for producing products that knowingly cause harm to consumers should be tried for crimes. For example red dye in skittles causing cancer.

 @9GLVKP5 from California  agreed…1yr1Y

Many studies have been recorded that he nutritional value of GMO foods are causing our common wealth to degrade.

More funding should be put into agriculture to help produce more vegetables and fruits, which are a way better alternative than the plastic food today.

 @9GGT5LM from Virginia  agreed…1yr1Y

We should know if our food is natural or not and its not fair that we get modified food without us knowing its modified

 @9G7Z3V8Republican from Pennsylvania  agreed…1yr1Y

Until I was there watching how these things got made and all the ingredients added into it, I would never trust it.

 @9G3VLFXWorking Family from California  agreed…1yr1Y

I think some are good but there are too many that cause harm and should stop being produced and found a substitute for the labels

 @9FZQCLZ from Georgia  agreed…1yr1Y

Essentially, over the years, according to "Farm Aid", "around 80% percent of our manufactured foods contain GMO's".

 @9FXDD36 from California  agreed…1yr1Y

People who like to eat purely natural food will now find it easier to know what is inside their meat.

 @9GMKJNMWomen’s Equality from North Carolina  agreed…1yr1Y

The people who are vegan or vegetarian who aren't trying to eat meat or dairy will have no idea what they are eating if a food was modified with one of their restricted foods.

 @9M4L6BN  from California  commented…6mos6MO

No, since there's nothing harmful about GMO's. Government mandates are not libertarian.
