Also, they are to be treated as citizens until they turn 18 and apply or serve 3.5 years in the military after turning 18 prior to application. If they serve in the military prior to application, they do not have to take a citizenship test to be granted citizenship because they have already proven themselves to have done more than we asked them to. By taking the test, they avoided the long way. The military serving time takes 3.5 years, whereas the application and testing takes about one year.”
