“I think it should be illegal to destroy human life to obtain anything, let alone stem cells. People actually do continue to make stem cells throughout their lives: blood cells start out in the bone marrow as stem cells, and they can be harvested and reprogrammed to serve whatever purpose the patient needs them for. Destroying human embryos isn't even necessary. That being said, if someone wants a grant to research harvesting and reprogramming a person's own stem cells, then that's fine.”
