“Yes, but not in a way that has them "teach to the test" only. Kids need a good education. How well they do in school depends on what is going on at home. If parents can work one decent-paying job and be home to spend time with the kids instead of working two crappy-paying jobs 60-70 hours a week, the kids will benefit. If no one at home is taking time to show an interest in their education and help them, kids often will not do well. Too many parents, esp. single parents, are exhausted and don't have the time and skills needed to parent well.”
