It would remove The Nevada Public Utilities Commission who currently determines utility prices. Proponents (including Senaotr Haryr Reid and Elon Musk) argue that the current energy market is a rigged monopoly and energy will be much cheaper if it is provided on an open market. Opponents (including the AFL-CIO) argue that the proposition will open the energy market to abuse from private businesses and cause prices to fluctuate.
