Question 3 prohibits livestock farmers from confining pigs, calves raised for veal, or egg-laying hens in a way that prevents the animal from lying down, standing up, fully extending its limbs, or turning around freely. The proposal would also prevent any retail grocer from selling eggs, veal or pork from farmers who knowingly operate this way.
